My sisters both go here and they have shown tremendous growth since fully diving into Marist. My younger sister will be playing varsity as a sophomore for volleyball there as well. This thoroughly researched approach is a wonderful advantage because although there is a curriculum, it's nice to have freedom to expand upon something that is important to the students, which in turn, excite their learning even more. My son, in the pre-K program for two years, is moving on to Kindergarten this year with happy anticipation. I believe the success of any school can be measured when a child truly wants to go to school to find what subjects he or she will learn that day and in turn, can't wait to share their learning successes with me, the parent. At an early learning stage, I believe you cannot ask of any school for more than instilling a desire to learn which hopefully will follow them throughout their education. I noticed the previous reviewer mentioning the age range of students in Pre-K as a negative. Actually, a mixed age classroom of 3.5-5 years old is advantageous as it fosters leadership in the older children and allows the younger children to model behaviors and learn some skills at a faster pace from the older children. This is a learning method that many successful schools have incorporated into their preschool programs and many Montessori programs offer the same design as well. I am happy with the efforts put forth by Cliff Valley School and the results seen in my children; therefore, I would encourage any parent to consider Cliff Valley for their child's education

My 3 years here were the best years of my entire educational career - including college and grad school! This place really is the most amazing school ever. I remember my first day just like it was yesterday. I was accompanied by one of my best friends, who was also making the big switch to a more civilized school. We sat in front of the bathrooms for like 10 minutes trying to figure out which one was for boys and which was for girls. Turned out you just use whichever one is open! In addition to just being an awesome environment, where you are accepted for being whoever you are, Paideia has a great curriculum. The year is divided into short and long terms. In the long terms, you take the standard stuff - physics, math, languages, etc. The short term is for classes that are a little more outside the box - Sociology of American Rock & Roll anyone? The teachers here are absolutely outstanding! You can totally tell that they love the school and truly believe in it's mission. And Paul, the headmaster, is just an all around great guy. Graduation was awesome. My graduating class was 57 people and Paul made a short speech about every single one of us! I am so thankful that I was able to go to Paideia on a scholarship. I regularly give them money so that others can do so as well. I am also backing them in their efforts to take over the whole block! Go Paideia!

The principal left 20 minutes into graduation.... The man…read morewho scheduled and planned the event (for 5:30 on a Friday night), decided he had better things to do. My niece worked for years and fought through so much to get to that moment, and her principal couldn't be bothered to stick around. Her teacher said some really sweet things about her, and the teachers talked about each student before they got their diploma which was very nice. The students also gave some really touching speeches. It seemed like they formed meaningful relationships. There were a couple teachers my niece wouldn't stop talking about during dinner afterwards and before Fusion I never got more than one sentence out of her if I asked how school was going. It seems like she really got a lot of help she needed, but the disrespect I saw from the administration (In the single day I visited the school....) was alarming.
