Wish I could give 0 stars. I went to Dekalash on Thursday morning to do my lashes. On Friday I lost about 3 sets of lashes on my right eye in the morning then at night I lost 2 on my left eye. They work with sets of 3 lashes linked together so each time a set falls off you end up losing a lot of lashes. On Saturday morning 3 more fell off from each eye. From the experience I had on other places this lashes were falling way to fast. I ended up calling them on Saturday and explained the situation. I also told them that I was going out of the country on Sunday and wouldn't have time to fix my lash before my trip. All they said was that their policy for fixing was 5 days after the lash was done and asked me to send them pictures via email. I couldn't go to have my lashes fixed due to my trip so I sent them my pictures and all they said was that it was normal to lose some lashes everyday and that all they could do was give me a "disccount" on a new filing. I didn't even asnwered them back because I felt like it was a horrible customer service to not even consirer what I was telling them. I know we lose lashes everyday when we do an extension, it wasn't my first time and I know how to take care of it. But I lost a lot of them in less than 24 hrs. By the end of 1 week all my lashes fell off. It didn't even last 1 week. I'm beyond frustraded. I spent a lot of money for something that didn't last not even 1 week. I flew in to SLC from Boston and needed my lashes done badly. I was able to book online with Paola who was awesome. They have evening hours and when you call them, you automatically get a text and can get your issues resolved via text. Their studio was nice, has leg pillows which i love. The prices weren't crazy. I had an appointment scheduled for today. Attempted to call and inquire about the possibility of pushing it back an hour or so. Was routed through an automated scheduling system that took 45 minutes until I could talk to an actual person. By that time my appt was 15 minutes away so I began to drive to my appt. When I was nearly there I received a cancellation notice (my appointment time hadn't yet arrived) and my card was charged. Their system is not user friendly and the person I was finally able to connect with via text was unhelpful and abrupt. There are a lot of great local salons that do lash lifts and I'd recommend sticking with them rather than getting involved in this nonsense. It's gone down hill. I got my lashes done today in hopes to get the same service I had last year, but it is INSANE how AWFUL my lashes are. I got a full set of XPress and I'm embarrassed to go out in public. I asked for a little curl - the ends of my lashes are curled SO MUCH that they are touching my upper eyelid. Called to see if it was normal and was told they would schedule a fix however their schedules were completely booked but if I wanted I could make an appointment at another location and pay for a fill. Technician was nice but I can't help but feel like something is wrong and it shouldn't be like this. I've been using makeup wipes and avoiding my eye area, haven't gone to the gym or showered per their recommendations and yet the lashes keep falling out. Deka Lash is a beautiful salon in the heart of Sugarhouse. I had Whitney. She was amazingly precise and professional and absolutely friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Even the owner came by and chatted. They have membership programs that are great for upkeep. I had a Groupon, and I liked that I could schedule my appt online for the NEXT DAY! I've had so many bad experiences getting lash extensions, but after my first appointment with Lexi I was relieved to have found her but now she's gone and I've had to try appointments with the other girls there which has so far been awful! Jennifer has officially converted me to Dekalash. I was in town visiting family and I normally get my lashes done at Amazing lash in dc. Well.... a red eye flight later and my lashes needed some massive TLC. I had intended on just going to amazing lash in sugarhouse, however a friend had recommended Dekalash if I was going to sugarhouse. Well gave it a try and I am beyond pleased. From very first meeting Jennifer where she explained to me what I had booked and verifying the pricing, I went ahead and figured I would try the express fill. Same volume half the time? As a parent to a three year old sign me up! So i proceed to Jennifer's station where I lay in a very comfy lounge chair and for once my neck stayed totally comfortable! So much better than the medical tables at amazing lash. I relaxed, chatted a bit Jennifer is very bubbly and sociable. And when I got off the table voila the best lashes I've had thus far. She took the time to layer different lengths and not compromise my lash health. My lashes look amazing and the aftercare line is phenomenal! I've spent months trying to get my lashes squeaky clean, but to no avail. But Dekalash cleaning brush? Total game changer my lashes have stayed squeaky clean so far! Their cleanser also seems to be a little easier to wash vs amazing lash. Their liner is amazing, the sparkle brush is adorable, I could probably go on and on of all the ways in which I am now a Deka lash convert. But nonetheless to anyone who thinks their current lash place is on par? Give Deka lash a try and you won't be disappointed. Who knows you could end up a convert like me. I was very excited to try Deka Lash. I have been getting my eyelashes done for about 5 years, my stylist relocated and I have been on the hunt for a new place ever since. I purchased a Groupon and called to book my appointment with Deka. My first poor experience was with whomever took the appointment, they sounded very annoyed and put out by my calling to schedule an appointment. However, I did have to call back to reschedule. I spoke to a different individual, that person was very friendly and helpful. Upon arriving at Deka I was impressed with the cleanliness and appearance of the facility. They were very quick to assist and get me situated. The chairs are comfy and unique. The decor is very feminine and appealing. I liked it, very cute. We began our session by discussing length and style. I advised that I like them dramatic. I requested a 14/15 length with a C curl. (I've been getting these done a while and I know what I like). After about 10 minutes in and all the prepping (which I thought was a bit extensive with all the tape under AND over my eyelids, something I had never had done before) the artist proceeds to tell me she can only do a 12 length. Too short for me. I reinerated that I want them longer, so she proceeded to tell me she would go no longer than a 14. Okay, I have never had someone actually say they will not do what I want with my eyelashes. Not such a great start. The appointment ran approximately one hour and forty five minutes. The artist did not engage in any conversation with me at all. It was a long boring session. Once finished and I looked at the lashes I was shocked by how thin they were. The stylist commented about how they are probably not what I am used to but when I come back for my fill they will be able to make them fuller. She went on about how I had lots of baby lashes she couldn't put extensions on. Again, I have been getting my lashes done for some time and never have I had this issue. She did however want to sell me syrum to help things out. It has been less that 12 hours since my lashes were done and they look like they need a 2.5 week fill already. They are thin and sparse. Most definitely not what I like. Needless to say, I am very disappointed and will not be returning. AND they don't stamp your parking voucher if you park in the garage. read more

I was unsure about getting eyelash extensions, but found a cheap Groupon for Deka Lash, so I decided to try it. Key word here: CHEAP. I had beautiful, long, thick natural eyelashes, but wanted a break from wearing makeup, so I specifically requested eyelashes that looked natural, but just like I was wearing mascara. I wanted a noticeable difference, but didn't want strangers to immediately know that my eyelashes were fake. The woman assured me that she would give me a "natural, low maintenance" look. I came out looking like a cheap tramp with eyelashes that nearly touched my eyebrows. I had to trim them when I got home. A friend who gets hers done at a different place in Salt Lake told me they looked a little cheap, and that the texture of them looked a bit off. I tried to just let them be, because the woman who did them told me they would look better the next week. In the second week, a large clump of eyelashes in the middle of one of my eyes started to hang down, obstructing my vision. That chunk fell out, and I brought it to a different salon, now 3 weeks after getting the original extensions, and showed it to them. Three of my real eyelashes had been glued together and collectively had NINE fake eyelashes glued to them. When this chunk fell out because it was weighed down so much, I was left with a GIANT BALD SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY EYELID. I did not pull out any eyelashes myself and the woman who removed the fake ones did not pull any out. Underneath the extensions, my once BEAUTIFUL eyelashes are nearly GONE. The woman who removed them told me this was NOT NORMAL and she has NEVER seen this happen when eyelash extensions are applied correctly. Even with the same mascara I used to use, they are HALF THE LENGTH THEY USED TO BE NORMALLY. I have cried for hours because of what my eyelashes look like. DO NOT go to this salon. My first red flag should have been that they only have one Yelp review, which looks like it was definitely written by an employee. The owner, by the way, is a creepy 60-something year old man who will look at you and tell you how gorgeous you look, while he ROBS YOU OF YOUR MONEY AND YOUR NATURAL BEAUTY. Do not fall for the scam, and do not allow yourself to be forced into the cycle of having to pay for new eyelashes every 2 weeks!! For a place that claims to want to help women gain self confidence, they sure destroyed mine. Unless you want to ruin your natural eyelashes forever, do not go to Deka Lash. Go to literally ANY other salon in Salt Lake that has been established longer than a few months and has been recommended to you by a real, live customer. I have been getting eyelash extensions for over 2 years and I had the opportunity to try Deka Lash for a new full set. My eyelash tech was late to start my appointment and when she did, she was very rough with my eyelashes. My eyelashes and eyelids hurt for two days after the appointment, which has never happened before to me. I went back in two weeks to my normal eyelash place and was told I needed another full set (in two weeks you should only need a fill) because there were hardly any left on my lashes. Come to find out, she was so rough on my lashes, she had pulled out a lot of my natural lashes, so that is why they fell off so quickly. My normal place fixed my lashes the best they could and told me to continue using eyelash serum and vitamins to regrow the lashes my tech pulled out.
