This is what Brantano should have been. It has the same idea - self-service shoes in boxes ready to try and buy - only they're not arranged by size. This is not a huge problem, though, as the sizes are marked clearly on the side of the box, and most sizes (including some half sizes) are accounted for.
This is the shop where I found the pair of boots I feel like I've spent my whole life looking for. Wandered into this shop out of curiosity when it first opened, and there were my perfect boots. I'd never heard of Graceland shoes (one of the most common makes of shoes in stock in Deichmann) but they are quite possibly the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever bought, despite their 4.5" heel.
The men's shoes are also fantastic, and the children's shoes are lovely, but unfortunately there isn't a huge variety for kids. I didn't have much of a look around the sports shoes, but I know they have many well-known brands that are quite reasonably priced. There is a good range of sizes available here too, catering for tiny to enormous feet.
Even though this shop works on a self-service basis, the staff are by no means absent. They are very friendly and make themselves readily available should you need any help or advice.
This is a wonderful shoe shop, and from me, that's a high compliment as I generally view anywhere with shoes as being the best place ever. read more
