As with Marks and Spencer, I would like to challenge the popular view that Clarks is a shop for old people and children. Because it puts so much emphasis on quality and comfort, so many people believe that Clarks can't possibly be fashionable. If I'm completely honest, I used to hold this view too. I thought Clarks was wear you bought school shoes for children, and wear older people bought "sensible shoes". And the last time I was in Clarks was because my Grandma needed a new pair of shoes. While she went off to find something, my mum and I sat and waited by the window. It wasn't long before we noticed that there were some really, really nice shoes on the shelf next to us. By the time my Grandma had finished, my mum had chosen a gorgeous pair of clogs (which are very much in fashion right now), while I'd found myself a lovely pair of wedges. I was surprised at how stylish Clarks' shoes actually are when you get inside and have a proper look. And because it's Clarks, you know that the shoes are top quality, and you'll be able to wear them all day in complete comfort.
Obviously you're never going to go into Clarks and get a pair of 5" stilettos to wear clubbing, but for some comfortable, well-made and totally fashionable day shoes, Clarks should definitely not be ignored. read more
