Quality Inn Waddling Dog

Quality Inn Waddling Dog

This is a clean establishment. Some of the other places, especially across the street haver…read moreterrible reviews, so I was skeptical. Certainly a place I would stay at when back in the area and in need of a place to stay. The rooms are furnished, recently refreshed and the bathroom looks new. The linens seemed clean as one would hope! Breakfast, well, it's a gift with purchase and certainly not anything to write home about. While I understand some of these chain type hotel breakfasts can be the same, most will at least change it up and rotate. Every single day was the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I love me a waffle, but some variety would be appreciated.

Imagine stepping back into the late 1800s in England. The…read morefirst thing I noticed was the smell of fireplace, old wood and old leather. The second was the soft, distant piano music as if someone was in another part of the hotel offering a welcoming serenade. Then I notice the decor is perfect as is the architecture. I would not have been surprised if an ancient Majordomo or Concierge came out of some hidden nook to greet me. The exterior and interior appearance is perfect. The people were great! Always right there to assist. Our room was super clean and well maintained and the bed was great (if a little high for my short wife). I had a couple of requests after we arrived that were handled promptly and with ease. Breakfast was attended to by a charming hostess trying to anticipate our every need. Not the largest selection, but certainly more than adequate in a clean and pleasant library setting with an inviting fireplace. Disappointingly, they'd lost their old Bassett Hound "Waddling Dog" earlier this year. Pictures of and referrences to him were all about still. Connected inside the hotel was a great local Pub offering local beers & ciders plus tasty foods. We had a lunch and a dinner there. Again, here the staff was super attentive. Probably the most surprising of all was the nameplate, Quality Inn, which I think of as third tier accomodations. THIS was absolutely on par or even better than some Choice or Clarion properties I have stayed in.

Snug Harbor Marina Resort - #10 one-bedroom waterfront cabin.

Snug Harbor Marina Resort

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Snug Harbor Resort while visiting Friday Harbor…read more We reserved a one-bedroom waterfront cabin seamlessly online. Our total cost was $607.19. Check-in was done at the lobby. At the lobby one will also find a store and a coffee shop. Complimentary movies and games can also be checked out at the lobby to enjoy back at your lodging. The store offers a little bit of everything, from clothing to snacks. Complimentary ice machines are available. Bagged ice can be purchased though. Lower-level parking is limited and was completely full in the evenings. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot every time we returned from playing. Wheel barrel type carts located at the gate make transporting luggage effortless to rooms. Adirondack chairs are scattered about the edge of the property to enjoy sipping a beverage, reading or admiring the view. A fire-pit, community BBQ, picnic area and kids play area help pass the time while on-site. The paly area is at the lobby end for those who do not wish to have quarters near noise. The cabin we were given was number 10, a handicap unit. The very first cabin upon entrance and the furthest from the lobby and play area. Our cabin was clean and well equipped. Snug Harbor provided us the peace that we were seeking at the time. My one suggestion would be to offer fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby to establish a more personal touch.

But here I am, still Yelping because I think I'm helping, haha. Yelp, the original business influencer site... let's hope Instagram & TikTok kids don't start making videos of all the businesses on here, they tend to ruin beautiful places. Either way, you read this long rant, thanks, I hope I made you laugh

WOODS on Pender - Hammock above Airstream #1

My husband and I checked into the charming mini-resort known as Woods on Pender this past weekend…read more We've been there 4 times now, and we return annually because of their clean, reasonably-priced accommodations, the serenely peaceful setting, and their outstanding, casual-yet-professional service. David (who has checked us in each time) is the best! Their motel rooms are quite comfortable, rustically stylish, and come with a Nespresso coffee maker (and plenty of pods), mini-fridge, a smart TV, and triple-sheeted duvets. The breakfast pastries and dinner offerings at the on-site restaurant are delightful too. I recommend making resos far in advance since they book up quickly for summer weekends. Leave the rat race behind for a weekend or a week--or more--and settle in for a relaxing stay.

A long soak and rejuvenation in a private hot tub, surrounded by greenery and chirping of dozens of birds. One of our night while walking, a fawn stumbled across my path and said hi. Wow! Amazing! The airstream was very comfortable. Nice queen bed. Own shower and bathroom. Hot water. Wifi. Cable. Amazon firebox. Kitchen with microwave and gas stove. Cutlery, pots and pans. Outside you have your own fire pit, 2 person hot tub whirling away and just waiting for you. A bbq set and lawn chairs and a huge umbrella to shade you. A huge hammock for those afternoon book readings. i mean, What more can you ask for? Air-streaming doesn't get any better than this! And the best part...the staff are so nice and accommodating. They'll give a quick orientation on what to do etc and if you need anything, they are a txt msg away. Yet, you are surrounded by nature and a lush flora. Around the property there are countless trails and everything is within a 5-10-15 min drive. There are cafes close by, farms, a bc liquor store, bookstore, restaurants, etc. everything is opening up now. Please go and support local and your backyard. Super easy to book and confirm. Also easy to cancel If ever. But dont. Its worth it. Thank you Dave for all your help! God Bless the Queen! ;) Cheers! happy camping!
