Quality is superior which offers exceptional value. Your clothing choices might be more expensive. But they are pieces that you can wear with pride for a long time. My last purchase was from their website. After seeing the new short sleeve hoodies that baseball teams and coaches were wearing, I knew I had to have one. Checking several places, I decided on Maroon and Co. When I opened the package yesterday I was blown away with the look and the quality. The fabric is buttery-soft textured Pulse Knit with embroidered logos. The fit is perfect. Zipper pockets or hand warmers are an added plus. The order also came with a 15% discount card for future orders. There will definitely be future orders.

In all my years living in Starkville, I've never had an issue returning an item and receiving a…read morerefund--until I purchased a pair of On running shoes from this location. I bought them on April 17th and wore them for only 2-3 days before realizing they caused discomfort in the soles of my feet. I checked my receipt, which stated that I had 7 days to return the item, so I returned on April 21st. However, I was told I couldn't return them because I had worn them, and the store needed to "contact On" before proceeding. This didn't make sense to me--there was nothing wrong with the shoes physically, and they were in the same condition as when I bought them. I simply didn't like how they felt, and I was within the return window. The staff gave me the runaround and were generally unhelpful, except for a kind associate named Blakely at the Tupelo location who empathized with my situation. Ultimately, I wasn't able to get a refund--only a store credit for the value of the shoes. I had to repeatedly follow up on my own, calling almost daily to speak with Bo, the manager, as no one ever reached out to me with updates. I've spent nearly $400 at this store in total, but after this experience, I won't be shopping here again. If you're considering purchasing On shoes, I strongly recommend buying directly from the brand's website instead of from a small boutique with high prices and an inflexible return policy.

Since their relocation and change to a "furniture & antiquities store," they've gone downhill. First, they only have a few true antiques scattered around the store, and the majority of them aren't for sale. If they are for sale, they are overpriced. They were asking $35 for one mass-produced magazine from the 1930s that isn't even worth $5 seeing as to how it was in awful condition, and it's an easily attainable magazine. Second, I was standing at one of their showcases for 10 minutes before any of the staff came to assist me, despite them both making eye contact with me multiple times. A once great antique mall has turned into an overpriced, "shabby chic" furniture store that isn't worth looking in or buying from. When it was a true antique mall, Beard's used to be one of my favorite places. Now, it's just a disappointment.
