Amazing Service + Thrilling Tours = Unforgettable Memories…read more My husband and I planned a last minute vacation 5 day vacation to Cancun the week of 4th of July. The week before leaving to Cancun, I was browsing the Cancun Best Discount website and as I was browsing (which I had already spent about 30 minutes on the website looking at what to choose) Martha contacted me. Martha was wonderful! She asked me what I was interested in doing and provided recommendations. We booked 3 tours with Martha: Tour #1: Whale Shark Adventure Tour #2: Coba Mayan Encounter Tour #3: Selvatica Air Assault Once we were booked, our confirmations were sent to us immediately. When we were in Cancun, Martha called our hotel room to confirm pick up times for our tours. On day 4 we had to change our Selvatica Gimme All tour to the Air Assault tour since we couldn't do an 8 hour tour. Martha was able to change the tour without a problem and refund the difference in tickets immediately! Talk about incredible customer service! All tours were AMAZING! Swimming with whale sharks was incredible! The group was small with about 8 people. We swam with about 20 whale sharks (I swear I am not kidding). Even though my husband and I do not get sea sickness, we did on this trip so make sure to take dremamine. While you are waiting for your turn to go in the water with the whale sharks you sit on the boat and it rocks A LOT! We were lucky to have spotted the whale sharks about 45 minutes into the trip and we were one of the boats to get to the whale sharks so we had a lot of time taking turns to swim with them. If you do this tour, you have to be in good shape since there is current and you have to keep up with the whale sharks - trust me they aren't as slow as they look. After the whale shark swim which was an incredible experience, we set out to eat a ceviche lunch docked at Playa Mujeres was a great relaxation after a day of chasing whale sharks. The Mayan Coba Encounter was great! The tour guide Isreal, zip lining, repelling into a cenote and climbing up Coba was remarkable. Our Mayan buffet lunch was tasty. The Selvatica Air Assault is for the young, adventurous heart. My husband and I were the only ones who chose that tour so we had 4 tour guides all to ourselves! The attention and interaction we had with our guides was so personalized. I could have done without all of the bridges in the tour, but our guides, the bungee and superman zip lines made it all worth it. I have traveled a lot and I must say this has been THE BEST tour and customer service experience EVER!! All of these tours are a MUST DO! I would call Martha and Cancun Best Discounts in a heart beat when vacationing in Cancun again.

A few comments though: 1 - we went on Tuesday, which apparently, Valladolid had a fiesta and so we did not stop, and just passed through it. If that was the plan of not stopping if there are fiestas, they should have informed us when we were booking. Would hvae been nice to walk around Valladolid. 2 - the tour guide just started talking after 1.5 hours on the bus en route. Wold have been more appropriate to say even a few words as soon as we drove off from the pick up area so to give us a bit of idea of what we are doing, how long is the drive, what to expect, etc. 3 - there were only 6 of us English speakers vs 30+ (i think) of the Spanish speakers on the bus. Antonio aka Kojak (i think was his name), our tour guide, gathered the English speaking tourists, but passed us to another tour guide from the other bus who had about 20+ people already. Would have been nice to have the guide with only a few people. Good thing, the other guide (Alfonso) did a good job. He knew a lot and was very articulate, and dressed the part.

Absolutely horrible experience…read more I had booked a private transfer from Cancun to Playa Mujeres. I arrived and there was nobody waiting for me. I therefore had to use my phone in Mexico (something I was not planning on doing) to contact the Tour Operator. I was told there was an issue with the reservation getting into their system and to hold on. After about 20 minutes they told me that it would be at least an hour before they could get anyone to me. That they would cancel this trip and issue me a refund and that I could find a Taxi. Obviously I would not use this company to return to the airport and booked with a different company. Now, had this company wanted to even attempt to make things right, they should have informed me to book a taxi, and they would pay for that taxi. The trip I booked via Viator was $118. The Taxi Cost me about $147 for one way and the return trip with a different company was $75. So, essentially this company could have offered to pay for the taxi (they would not have had to pay for the cost of their driver or their transportation). So, for maybe an out of pocket expense to them of under $100 they could have maybe had a little better review. But, I did request and get a refund. The company responded to me, "We apologize, there was indeed an error in the automated system entry; however, we have approved 100% of the refund. We regret the inconvenience and remain at your service. Best regards!" User beware if you are using this company.

We chose the Cenotes, Mayan ruins and snorkeling excursion. The $170 excursion included lunch, cold water, snacks, transportation from our resort in Playa Del Carman, tour guide. The 3 part excursion lasted from 745 to 3 PM. Highly recommend bringing towels, bug spray, water proof phone case, snacks and if you choose the Cenotes bring a flash light if you arent a fan of the dark. My friends and I really enjoyed our experience. Everything was organized. We had plenty of time to ourselves to explore and overall we felt really safe. We booked on Trip Advisor to get the price of $170. I'd recommend going through maybe your resort or hotel to see if you can get an additional discount.

I rarely do reviews, but want to make a few quick points: 1)…read morethis company is legitimate (despite the small # of reviews in yelp they have to a elsewhere on tripadvisor etc). 2) today was the highlight of our 1 week trip to the cancun/isla area 3) our driver and our guide Nefi is a federally certified tour guide and former Archeologist student and IT SHOWED. 4) despite our waiting until the very last minute to decide to go see ek balam, a cenote and valladolid Nefi was able to make it all happen for us the very next day. 5) I've never seen our teens so interested in history and be as wowed by anything other than a screen as they were today. 6) Nefi seems to know as much as a college professor about mexican history and archeology and mayan history and culture and made every story and explanation of our questions extremely entertaining. 7) this is our first private tour like this in mexico and we are soo happy we did it - you get what you pay for and we are all so happy we did!

Gabriel (our tour guide) set the tone for our trip!!! Truly beyond words, I can't come close to describing the level of detail that was planned and laid out for us for our tour. We started with Tulum and we beat the massive crowd of people who showed up after us. Gabriel helped us to see this through a new lens, bringing more meaning to the tour. We then went snorkeling followed by visiting the cenotes, zip lining and kayaking. Not to mention the delicious food in the Mayan village!!! I would recommend these guys to everyone coming to visit Cancun!

The…read morereason is that I went on other Xcaret excursions, and mask policy was not enforced on the buses. The website states they take COVID precautions seriously... this is false. On the other Xcaret shuttles (which was packed very tightly)......no one wore masks on the way back to the hotel. I didn't want to be stuck on a 11 hour tour bus ride when mask policies weren't enforced. The Xcaret company refuse to refund the ticket. I understand their cancelation and refund policy, but I felt that the safety protocols in reality didn't match the website description. There is a high chance you'll be stuck on a 11 hour bus ride filled with people not wearing masks. Putting mask politics aside, you need a negative COVID test to return home to your country most likely. Ask yourself... Is it worth it to be stuck on a long ride on a bus packed with strangers not wearing masks? In a humid environment where the bus window is filled with international travelers? A positive COVID test means 10 day quarantine in Cancun....

When our family booked a trip to Cancún, we all knew we wanted to see the legendary ruins of…read moreChichén Itzá, since it was our first time to the area. Chichén Itzá lies about three to four hours away from the main hotel zone of Cancún in the heart of the Yucatan peninsula. We wanted to learn more about one of the new seven modern wonders of the world by seeing it up close and touring it with a certified guide. Through various films and teachings, we had always heard of the mathematical and astronomical precision of the structures of Chichén Itzá and wanted to see them for ourselves. A quick search online led us to the Xichén Clásico Tour which was the most searched for and easiest to access online. For those booking online, you get a deal for 71 dollars. We considered the deluxe tour but at 98 dollars didn't seem worth it. We were led by our tour guide Manuel and our bus driver Ivan who picked us up at our hotel at 7:30 in the morning right on the dot. We were the last of five hotels on this trip and the bus was packed so off to the back of the bus we sat. It took over three hours to get from the hotel area to that of the first stop. While we drove by the historical church and town square near Chichén Itzá this was not our first stop. Our first stop was basically a pit stop at a mega store with a Mayan village next door to walk through. Needless to say it was disappointing, as it lasted a full hour with nowhere to go. It felt like this was a sponsored stop and had really nothing to do with Chichén Itzá just a place for retailers to make money. Then it was off to our first real adventure swimming in the sacred cenote azul, near Chichén Itzá, called Ik' Kil which was in their words was a large sinkhole. It was in fact very lovely and exotic but it was too crowded due to all the tour buses stopping off. Be forewarned everything costs money here, unlike the Xenotes Oasis Maya tour which is their sister tour and gives you almost everything you would need from life jackets to towels to complimentary bottled water . For this tour, you have to rent life jackets, towels and even lockers for your all of your stuff as you can't even leave it on the bus. My recommendation is to bring your own towels from your hotel and own purchased bottled water before you're picked up and remember to stock up. After swimming in the cenote, you get to enjoy a buffet lunch, which tasted decent at best, and be forewarned there was not a drop of Mexican food served expect for a little mole and flan and all drinks but ice water were an additional price. The food was rather bland, but the service was solid as we ate inside their air conditioned dining hall. I wish we had more time at the Ik' Kil Cenote as swimming was fun, but again we were under the clock to swim and eat or else the bus was leaving us behind for Chichén Itzá. Then it was off finally off to Chichén Itzá. Although it was easy to get in once our tour guide led us past the main gates, I noticed the weather was extremely hot, as in scorching hot, but Manuel was a solid if a somewhat long-winded tour guide. He had to speak to two different combined groups in English during the tour of the grounds. It eventually became so hot that I just wanted the tour to end. The tour lasted a little over an hour and you get free time to walk around for another hour. I just wanted to get back to the bus instead of walking around the entire historic grounds and that truly saddened me because it was really stunning seeing the ancient ruins. There were a lot of market stands selling genuine Mexican gifts. They hawk you everywhere you turn. They give you one chilled bottle of water with a lanyard around it so you don't have to hold it, which was a very convenient way to carry it but it turns lukewarm quiet rapidly due to the extreme heat. It was a solid day of adventure and history. Glad I crossed a visit to Chichén Itzá off my bucket list. The overall tour was fun, but not the most memorable adventure while in Cancún. The fact that they seemed to charge for everything only made it worse. Would I do it again? Maybe not, but I'd definitely consider it. At least I got the chance to vibrate with the mysticism of the Sacred Cenote Azul in Ik'Kil, while swimming in its refreshing waters (despite the mass amount of other people swimming in it). On top of being able to see the exotic and historical grounds of Chichén Itzá, for this dual experience I will always remember with fondness.
