We've taken our dogs hiking here before many times but today was our first time cycling here, and it really is a great place to bike with some somewhat challenging rolling hills. The path goes all the way to the park on the back side of West Lake, so if you've got a mountain bike you could add that loop to the journey. Quarantine has been really rough on me but the sunny days are a joy as we plug away at training for a Beth-athlon I'm planning to do at the end of the summer (I can't run anymore, so I'm making up my own -athlon of multiple activities ranging from paddleboarding to rollerblading. It was great getting some cycling miles under my belt today and getting that heart beat racing.

The main trailhead is just across the road from the parking lot designated for staging. There's many miles of paths here, ranging from relatively easy to hilly and dodgy. Be sure to stay on the paths designated for cycling since there are a few pedestrian only trails, too. This area is incredibly beautiful in the fall. Devil's Soup Bowl is our favorite of the trails.

The sites were nice and large; believe they were $30 per night (i believe) - omg the restrooms were cleaned very frequently. Please note - i didn't see anywhere on site that sold wood so make sure load up before arriving. Bring your kayak as well - easy access to the dock and also lots of people fish near the early. What I appreciated was the planning he went through with me for the kind of bike that would be good. He spent a lot of time chatting and letting me learn a lot and then by spring when the weather broke I tried out four bikes. I only wanted to try one. The one I had my heart set out on. But I "humored" him and tried some others. Well, I didn't get the one I thought I wanted. And I wouldn't have ever even tried this bike if he didn't suggest it and keep in mind, listening very well, to my riding habits and desires and the functionality I wanted out of my bike.
