So it's perfect for mending bikes and selling bikes and some of the prices are pretty decent. It reminds me a little bit my of Dad's place back in England when he used to have a bike shop. That was at Oxford University that was slightly different. It's very cute how a lot of people around here do cycle even in the disgusting midwinter that they have in East Lance, so it's useful to have this here, and I like going in bike shops because it reminds me of my Dad's place so I had a good time browsing in here. We walked out of there with a new bike and the nephew was happy with the selection and the new ride. But I "humored" him and tried some others. Well, I didn't get the one I thought I wanted. And I wouldn't have ever even tried this bike if he didn't suggest it and keep in mind, listening very well, to my riding habits and desires and the functionality I wanted out of my bike. If you want the cheapest. Maybe don't go there. If you want to get it and out in a hurry. OK - maybe don't go there. I spent over a year trying to find a quality bike that would be dependable and long lasting. I finally found a Trek Roscoe 6 on sale at American Cycle & Fitness for over $300 off! Being 6'6" it's tough to find 23"/XXL frames, and they had one. Unfortunately, this was during the stay at home order in Michigan (April of 2020). Plus the bike is not able to be shipped. This would have stopped any other bike store employee, but not Mark! He went out of his way to find the bike at another location, get it assembled, and meet me quite a ways away from Grand Ledge. All within 36 hours, which was unbelievable! Mark began to set up my tires to be tubeless, out on a kickstand, and was so unbelievably kind and knowledgeable! I bought my sons bike at another place due to getting it nearly 50% off. Mark knew the owner, and even gave me advice for that bike. And though the other store did an excellent job, they could NOT match the customer service Mark at American Fitness & Cycle provided. In fact, I'm not sure anyone can! I am a VERY picky customer with very high standards, and Mark at American Fitness & Cycle exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds!!! I've never had customer service as good as I had at American Fitness & Cycle, regardless of the store/industry! Mark quickly figured out the problem and made recommendations for another minor repair. Within 15 minutes he had the bike flat and tire replacement finished and helped me load the bike back into the car. One of the great things about this store is the fact that the employees take the time to explain what repairs are needed and those that could wait. The store has lots of great Trek bikes and supplies but they had no problem working on my basic Schwinn. Excellent customer service and great repair. Back on the road. I highly recommend. Trust.
