Let's imagine you've been at a conference for 2.5 days in Sunny Bondi. You've probably got some…read moreserious Mac Back and Tech Neck happening. You're probably sore from sleeping on hotel pillows and from sitting for longer periods than you're used to. Let's also imagine you discover a Japanese-style massage spot just a few hundred meters from your hotel and that past you was pretty rad and booked a late flight home. Yeah, you're digging what I'm putting down and you book yourself in for a massage to get the flight home aboard Zen Force One. Enishi focus on a Japanese-style of massage and, like most, have a few standard time options available (30, 60 and 90 min blocks). If you're wanting to claim on your private health insurance you will need to book a remedial massage with oil. I opted for a 60minute dry massage and a 30min reflexology session. After being greeted in the reception area I'm taken into one of four partitioned areas in the small salon. The massage tables seem a little more luxe than most (see photos) and I'm left to change into a provided black t-shirt and fisherman pants. Shortly after, my therapist, Wendy I believe her name was, is ready to work her magic. Fair warning: there are moments when she'll be straddling your back to really get into the nitty gritty of ridding you of your Tech Neck & Back. And that's my friends where I have to admit by this point my mind is about as still as dead air on a radio program. There's no one home and I'm on a fast track to catching some z's. Thoughts are popping out of my head as fast as they come in and as Wendy even massages my fingers (who knew knuckles held tension?) I can feel every worry and care slip away. Bonus points for the final act of a post-massage stretch akin to something you'd do with a PT after a session to ensure no stiffness in the hours following.

Don't be fooled by its location on a busy road next to a petrol station because once you step inside you can't hear the hustle and bustle of dat busy Eastern lifestyle. I booked a 60 minute remedial massage with hot stones for $89. The room was dimly-lit with soft, soothing music and my masseuse was great, concentrating on the areas I requested. This was an entire-body massage and one that you can claim back if you have a health fund though they do charge you the full amount on the spot and you need to make the claim yourself.
Having done the float in the US plenty of time, I was looking for a place that offered both a…read moremassage and float tank. I found another place but the tanks were old, dodgy and looked claustrophobic. I found this place with had a large modern float tank as well as private massage rooms. I left feeling extremely relax and will try to include the massage next time I float. The only downside to this location is lack of parking. I had to park 3 blocks away but I was able to eventually find a spot. Would recommend going 15-30mins early to find street parking.
