If you engage them for their services - try to figure out what types & sizes of photos you are going to want to purchase. Other than being egregiously overpriced upfront, which is generally not a problem during the spending stupor you are in while planning a wedding, you should also know that when the dust settles and you've spent $10k on photos and realize later on that you just want that one additional photo for that wall somewhere.. be prepared to spend $500 - on one photo.. and I don't mean a mural.. a photo!. Even better if you want it digitally, it's a $1000 for a digital copy. A couple of hundred - maybe...$500 no way My advice, if you work with them / and you should look at alternatives - have them take the photos only, buy the digital images and go elsewhere for actual prints and books and such - BUYER BEWARE Hey Studio Photogs - I hope this costs you 100 times the extra $300 (on top of the extra $100) you're making off my 1 photo

I researched and spoke with dozens of photographers by email and phone, and Chris was really the best. We got our shots back and even four weeks later I cried from how authentic, unposed, and gorgeous his shots were. So here are the main things that mattered to me: * Composition and "feel" of the photos - His site and blog speaks for themselves. I love love LOVE that his shots are so artistic and so natural at the same time. This was absolutely the style we wanted. We wanted someone who could help us do the family portraits and such but also didn't need guidance to capture genuine moments during the event at great angles. He also has an eye for color and composition, suggesting folks move slightly in groupings so that the flow of the picture looked better * Makes Awkward People Look Good- Seriously, this is real skill. My fiancé and I are awkward in front of cameras.. Something about him sets you at ease which is gold for awkward people. Also, we are neither of us photogenic and he made us look like relative movie stars! My goal was to have five photos we could point to one day with our kids to prove that Mommy and Daddy were young and good looking once upon a time. Mission accomplished. Also, any problem areas you're self-conscious about? They'll help with that. I was totally terrified my arms would come out fat in every shot. I still have no idea what Chris and Erin did to improve this but whatever it was, it worked - they're not a magic bullet but they definitely knew how to work with us to get us at our most advantageous angles. * Great Suggestions - Chris is totally unassuming and "go-with-the -flow"; he's not a diva photographer, but he was great at giving suggestions when we had no idea what we wanted to do. He had been keeping an eye out as we were doing family photos and suggested we go out and take more just the two of us that ended up being some of my favorites from the bunch. He had great ideas for a few positions and poses to get us started, which was great, and then he just let us do our thing. * Ninja Timing - I was flipping through our photos and at least four times, I said, "how did they possibly get this shot?". I have no idea how he and Erin were everywhere at once. Some of the photos Erin took from second floor windows looking down on the ceremony, etc. were just phenomenal to add to the ones Chris took in the thick of things. * Is Not a Goon - It really mattered to me to work with people I could genuinely like, and I genuinely liked Chris and Erin. Seriously, it's pretty clear that the wedding industry has bad seeds like any other industry, and for choosing someone to spend the entire day witnessing one of the most intimate, personal moments in your life? Go with someone who makes you feel /good/. I would highly recommend Chris and his team and in fact, one of my good friends is going to be using him in August for her wedding. Go with these guys, you will absolutely be glad you did.

We were assigned Reena and Roderick as our main photographer and videographer, and Ben and Tuck as the secondary photographer and videographer. They gave such clear direction to ensure the photos came out the way we wanted. All 4 of them were respectful, professional and very accommodating. We had an extensive list of photo combinations we wanted with the bridal party, our parents, wedding sponsors, and extended family and the Dean Michaels team managed to capture every single moment. I'd ask Reena last minute if we could take pictures at different locations and she would be so accommodating and the photos came out perfect. We are so glad we went with Dean Michaels. It's always tough picking through hundreds of wedding photo companies but my wife and I really liked the style of Dean Michaels which provided a good mix of dramatic and traditional photos without being too over the top. I was responsible for all the A/V for a dear friend's celebration of life memorial at the Maplewood…read moreCountry Club. Everything had to be PERFECT. Allan Reider Studio completely delivered. I'm a bit Type A with event planning, especially with this one. The venue recommended Allan Reider and I can see why. A couple weeks before the event, I visited the country club to familiarize myself with the space then called him to save the date. While he was friendly and jokey, he was serious and knowledgeable about the details. I was almost finished developing a video slideshow of my friend's life and wanted the final version shown as much as possible at the event to honor his wishes. Allan recommended showing it on loop in one of the rooms near the entry above a fireplace on a plasma TV and in the main banquet hall on a 7-foot screen via projector. This was exactly what I wanted. I dropped off the slideshow on Blu-ray a week before the event then Allan and his crew tested it on multiple players at their studio. A couple of days before the memorial, I received a family member's request for a song to be played during the eulogy. Allan gave me options and recommended the best bang for the buck. The day of the memorial, Allan called and texted me a couple of hours before the start time to assure me that everything was already set and in place. Come showtime- seamless! I didn't have to worry about anything.
