I was so excited, it was all I was looking forward to for weeks. We show up a few minutes before our 9:00 am class, there was a woman in the window measuring things, we wave, she waves back. Then she keeps measuring. We keep waiting. Finally, around 9:08 I knock on the window & motion for her to meet us at the door. She comes around, "Hi, we are here for our 9:00 am class", "Oh, uh...I'm just renting the kitchen, no one else is here"... She called the owner, a few minutes later comes back with "I didn't know they confirmed for the class". The woman renting the kitchen was very apologetic, invited us in to write down our names/numbers so that the owner could get in touch with us. & did they? Nope. Which brings me here today. I wouldn't have left a bad review if they had called me & tried to talk it through, but nothing... nothing, at all. I'm all about customer service & will be loyal to a fault, especially to local & small business. I get it, things happen. BUT its been over 3 weeks now, and nothing back? Super disappointing.

A family group overnight jaunt to Nevada City yielded lots of time to stroll around Sunday evening…read moreand Monday until mid-day. By the time we arrived Sunday, shops were starting to close up. Glad that The Truffle Shop was open on Monday when I stopped in looking for some shade an a cooler spot to be for a bit. The collection of hand-crafted truffles was not only beautiful and wildly unique with its flavor profiles, but complimented by the artistic space of the petite shop. It was all a visual delight, before even getting to choosing the chocolates. As it was a warm day, I didn't order as many as I might have otherwise as I was sure that the truffle treats would melt before we could enjoy them properly - savoring each tasty bite. I did get a dark chocolate/cherry one for me, and Matcha tea flavor for Dear Hubby, who wasn't with me at the time. I had a nice chat with the gentleman running the shop. He may have been the owner, coming from the back with a tray of more truffles to fill out the display cases. Thankfully on a warm afternoon, they had chilled bottled water for sale, too. After making my purchase and taking a few photos of the whimsical interior, I sat and enjoyed my truffle at the little bistro table in the outside hallway. It was a perfect little respite before more strolling on Broad Street again.

Very minimal fish selection. They transformed their dining area to accommodate Suishi in the raw but does not open until 430 pm. Hopefully that generates some business! They also charge a 5% tax for Covid-19 Employee Hazard Pay. So it's basically a surprise tax that you either just deal with afterwards or look petty asking for it back because it takes it away from the employees. How about just pay your employees more money because you're a grocery store that clearly makes good profit? And maybe a tip jar so people can do so at their leisure?
