Extending their hours extensively (and opening the main branch on Saturdays), improving their services, adding all sorts of 3D printers, video games, computers and more. They have truly captured the idea of "maker spaces" that both public libraries and school libraries are trying to capture in the here and now. They truly use their space well (which they have a lot of), and have added all the features that make the library a great place to be for everybody. The extremely comfortable seating throughout the library is fantastic as well. Typically I feel like most libraries have chairs that are as hard as rocks at the computers, not here, where there is a new high table in the main room with tall comfortable seating. Fabulous. Now they even give out the first ten prints free and ten cents for any additional pages. Never paying the twenty cents at the Norwood Library (while I love Norwood, that library is a JOKE) per side of each page with the computers that don't work and the ridiculous seating arrangements. The staff always go above and beyond to be helpful. I don't know the staff here all that well (I visit the Endicott Branch more frequently), but they all make efforts to get to know the people who frequent the library. Again, in the Norwood Library this is only the opposite (which is really sad!). Always love the Dedham Public Library, and even more now since it looks so great, inviting, and useful for everyone! 5 stars, more if possible. I've been to a LOT of libraries and while others in the area are pretty good (Needham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton); none compare to this library and the Endicott Branch!

I used to come here all the time and never had issues, and then things changed. There were leaks, things braking, mice and just overall an unpleasant place to be. Then they rebuilt the library for only more issues to occur. The library has now needed to be closed on three separate occasions, each for three weeks, or more, for issues with the ceilings. Honestly, ridiculous. Staff are eh-eh, and the book selection isn't anything great. It's a shame coming here, while the Dedham Library (and Endicott Branch), Needham Library, and Natick Library all just completely pound this library into the ground.... they are ALL so much better. I am not proud to live in a town with a place that runs so horribly. Every time I go to the Dedham Library, I drive by here, and remind myself of all the reasons I don't stop here instead. Horrible.

Needham Public Library is a great place to study or take out some books. There is tons of seating,…read moretables, desks, and comfy chairs. So even if it is crowded you will find a place to sit. There are windows everywhere which allows natural light to come in all directions which is great when you are studying for hours and need some vitamin d. The librarians are very friendly and helpful. You don't even need a library card to take books out, just your license. If they don't have a specific book you were looking for they will order it from another library and send you an email when it's ready. There selection is vast too so they usually do have the books I am looking for. They have two lots for parking so you will always find a spot.

Blue Bunny Books is easily one of my favorite locations to walk to and hang out. During my…read morepregnancy, I have found myself walking into town just to be able to sit and do some work while sipping on a yummy drink. Their cafe isn't just creative, it's extensive! They really have something for everyone here. My boyfriend, who is more of a tea than a coffee person, hasn't found any complaints when trying their drinks (and he may be as much of a drink critic as I am). If you have kids, Blue Bunny also does creative and fun events to engage and involve your little ones in some much-needed book-themed fun. With our family expecting our first baby, we're beyond thrilled to bring her over to Blue Bunny's events, no matter how old she is. Blue Bunny is such a staple to the Dedham community, and I will always enjoy going back for some yummy coffees and good books.

My son and I grabbed some drinks from the cafe and they were delicious, then as we waited browsed their selection. There are more children's books overall but they do carry toys, trinkets, cards, crafts, historical books and more. The woman working the front was super sweet and the lady behind the cafe counter was too, their service was welcoming. As far as value I'd rather support local than the big store. Their prices are the norm but yes you can find majority of these books at big retailers for less. They both also gave a military discount even though I don't believe that is the norm for them but much appreciated. Overall great experience.
