I don't know what's happened since May of 2015, but we will never allow our son to go back to this day care facility. Our son was four years old, had a speech latency, and on the tail end of potty training when he began going to the after school care program at this Discovery Point. All of his clothing, extra shoes, extra pull ups, and baby wipes were lost every single time he had an accident. We couldn't understand why he'd come home covered in dirt and mud, and have accidents every day. His demeanor had changed completely, and instead of being excited about school the next day he actually seemed sad, which is not like him. After questioning the staff on several occasions we realized that they weren't encouraging him to use the bathroom when he got off the bus after school, and they were keeping all of his belongings either under the front desk, or in the back of a closet where the teachers couldn't find them. After arriving one day early to pick him up I found him playing in the dirt on the playground while the other children played nearby on the play equipment. I asked him why he wasn't playing with the other children and didn't have to wait long before the other children informed me that he is not allowed to play on the playground, so they'd push him away. The teacher watching this group of 5 years and up confirmed this, had instructed the children to keep him off the equipment, and informed my husband and I that the teacher with the four year old class was over capacity so he was placed with the older children. My four year old son has a speech latency, and could not verbalize what he liked or disliked, let alone verbally defend himself, or tell us what was happening. We removed him after three months; in November and have yet to find any of the clothing or other supplies that we provided for him when we originally registered him. I have never seen Any Discovery Point run like this. We definitely noticed turn over in that three month period. I truly hope that no other child has to go through what our son did.

The other kids in his class seemed happy and excited to be there, which said a lot. I was also thankful he got to experience introduced foods through their program. Unfortunately, my experience with the corporate side was really disappointing. After only two weeks of enrollment, corporate changed course on how my scholarship would be handled and came back asking me to cover costs that were supposed to be included. As a result, we were no longer able to continue at the school, right as my son was adjusting so well. It was frustrating to have things pulled out from under us so quickly, and it left me feeling like there's a real communication gap between corporate and the actual school directors when it comes to billing and scholarships. I'd recommend this location for the teachers and environment, but families relying on scholarship or financial assistance should ask a lot of questions upfront about how corporate handles those arrangements.

I have not received my deposit, which has been owed to me since August. The daycare has cited bankruptcy as the reason, but since then there has been little to no communication, no updates on the status of my funds, and I have essentially been ignored whenever I follow up. After doing some research, I learned that I am not the only one affected. Other families have also not received their deposits, and there are even teachers who have not been paid. This raises serious concerns about how the situation has been handled. It is incredibly frustrating and disheartening to be treated this way after years of loyalty and reliability. If you are considering enrolling your child here, proceed with extreme caution. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against trusting your money--or your peace of mind--with a business that is clearly struggling and failing to communicate or take responsibility. Of course Jessica quickly recanted her statement when it was met with so much shock, stating "well that's not really a complaint". From there, she accused me of talking over her when in actuality it was the other way around. When I asked her to continue, she made a comment that I admittedly can't remember verbatim, but whatever it was, it made me laugh in a "are you kidding me?" type of tone because I just couldn't believe where this conversation was headed. My laughter apparently was the final straw that led to her telling me my daughter is no longer welcome. Jessica and the rest of the staff try to put on a front as though they treat everyone like "family". As the business owner, I completely understand she has every right to make these types of decisions. However, removing a child from the program in the middle of the school year because their parents "asks too many questions", without any type of notice, is NOT what you do to "family". Jessica is completely irrational and insensitive as she made this decision without a proper explanation and without considering how this impacts us as two working parents, and most importantly, our daughter. With all that being said, beware of this place! Some general comments... I strongly believe they don't openly welcome parents into the building because they're trying to hide the poor upkeep of the place. The facility is dated, dimly lit, and just not a welcoming atmosphere. If they were proud of their facility, they wouldn't have old signs up, giving off the impression that parents are not permitted into the building. I don't typically leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so about this place. So do with it as you wish. Just know this is nowhere near the best daycare/school in the area. My youngest started here at 8 weeks old. With my youngest daughter I was very nervous as I didn't have to put my older daughter in a daycare at such a young age. Mrs. Jessica was wonderful, she always listened if I had any concerns and would inform me to watch the live feed and check back in with me to see how I was feeling and how the staff was doing. She always made sure I was worry free and happy with the care my daughter was receiving. She really went above and beyond for my girls. Daycares have become quite costly in recent years but this one is worth every penny that they…read morerequire. They emphasize education so it's not a baby sitting service. They start teaching at age 1! They help with potty training if you need too. They provide the breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for the kids. The staff are easy to reach and communicative. The teachers all have at least a bachelor's degree in childcare or have a background with managing kids, nurses included. They remember all the kid's names and make everyone feel welcomed. It's also quite diverse with cultures and they have respect for others cultures as well. It's a great environment and they even have small celebrations and recognitions such as for Valentine's Day, Grandparents day, etc.
