Maria $ Gus from Deco Concrete were excellent. Maria made sure to answer any questions and keep us updated through the process (Even through COVID-19 times). I was impressed with how attentive Maria was since day 1. Our project was to a whole knew patio. They ripped out our old patio and made a whole knew one. We are very happy with our patio. Side note: they hire two separate people for the demo and installation. The ones that did the demo were very professional. On the first day, since it had been raining, the machinery made giant track marks on the grass/ dirt. The second day they they brought wood panels to lay on the path in order to avoid destroying the ground more. We were not present during the installation (took about 1-2 days). They did a good job, and came back to fix certain issues with the grout fairly quickly. A few days later, they will show up to clean up. Pressure washed the patio, back house wall, and drive way. PS: You are expected to put knew sod around the patio in order to pass final inspection. read more

I presented Junior with a particular challenge. I had a 2 car asphalt driveway. I wanted to expand it to three car with pavers. I also had a small pond near the house, a narrow walkway going to the drive way. I have MS and eventually I will be in a wheel chair. At first I wanted a circular drive cause I am on a corner, but Junior took the time to explain to me legally I can't do certain things I wanted (appreciate he was very interested in doing it the right way). He saw that we could expand to a three car drive way, remove steps on the walk way, and expand it to fit a future wheel chair, while sloping to get rid of steps. Considering all of the challenges with getting materials, it was delivered in the time frame stated. Also, due to massive inflation, the job ended up costing him more than expected, but didn't pass a penny more than quote onto the job. I am extremely happy with job and experience. read more

Wow. This company promises a lot, but delivers little, and slowly. My current project has entered its 6th week, for just a driveway and a fence. My driveway has been poured for over 4 weeks without the turf placed yet. The fence has only half the posts up do to a very poor job the first time. Over 75% if the posts were leaning. I have tried being patient. This has only resulted in more trouble. Excuses come left and right, but no workers. On top of the very extended time frame (I was told 2 weeks at the sales call), they have broken my sprinklers lines, torn up my lawn, broken my cable lines twice, cut my propane line, cut my electrical lines, and cut my phone lines. They never made any attempt to help with the costs of repair. They miss coming to the job site frequently. They even lie about when they will show up. How many "rain days" are really acceptable over 6 weeks. We have tried to be patient and fair with them. Today was they last straw. The owner tried to intimidate me on the phone today. I gave it back to him straight out. He only could be rude back. Please listen to me and look elsewhere. This is NOT a company or people to be trusted. Update 7/9/2018: Project is finally done. Took around 3 months all told. I spoke at length with Junior from Deco about the project. The driveway is a very good job. If it was alone for this part, I would give 3.5/5 stars. However, the finish on the fence is poor. Hinges not lined up nor well hung. Very few of the 180 linear feet of horizontal fence is hung well. He offered no solution to fix it. My neighbors are upset about he finish. Personally, I would not go through the project with them again. Just to note, when I met with Junior, he said he could not argue or disagree with the information in my first review. I have updated from 1 star to 2 based on the finished driveay Update 7/19: The fence failed final inspection by the city today. No response from the contractor. Be smarter than me. Look elsewhere... Update 7/26: See picture. Concrete is already crack Update 9/21: We finally passed inspection about a month ago. As the strangely word response from the company, you can tell who you are working with. Luckily, my review is straight forward, well documented and honest. Maybe it can save you. The fence staining I paid for, is still not complete. The company ruined my concrete walkway when they did a tile job and never fixed it. Stay away. Any good contractor should know the code and get it right. Also, as far as the fence, they used a large machine to drill large holes in soft soil and then minimal concrete to reinforce the posts. That's why the fence failed. To this day, the finished product shows poor workmanship. Several neighbors have complained. It is embarrassing. I had contacted Deco concrete for my concrete patio because they had done my friends backyard. I contacted them beginning of January for a quote , they did ask during the scheduling about both husband and wife being at the property at the time of quote. Fine we scheduled and Gus came out to do the quote. I told him my budget and what I was looking for. Obviously went over my budget but got what I asked for. 1100 square feet of stamped concrete for 8500. The payment was split into three forms of payment. The reason for the three stars is because their communication skills are not simply there. I had requested the quote and gave the deposit down in a check after discussing with them that it was not to be cashed till after the 19 of the month and they advised not to worry that they will contact me before cashing the check, they didn't. Cashed my check and didn't even contact me. Two weeks passed I give them a call you cashed my check what's going on what's the status they simply stated they were waiting for permits to come in that they will call me. I will never hear from them, I will always have to reach out to them. I needed this done by my sons bday which they did. But I had to keep contacting them to make sure it was going to get done. They did an awesome job with my driveway. It was a little pricey but it was worth it! However when I call them back to do a smaller job . I got the run around. If you are looking to do a big project then yes this is the company is for you. I was just turn off by it . Think twice before signing. Junior is a great polite talker but his follow through is poor. Started my project in April 2019- it's now November 2019. 1. Problem- told them I live in an HOA & need to get approval before we start. Next thing I was told - they had a permit to commence??? That took 2 months to straighten out. Problem 2. Junior asked for my original property survey, I was very hesitant it letting my survey go. Guess what I haven't gotten it back yet. But I was told it was given to me on June 11, NOT POSSIBLE I WAS OUT OF TOWN.. problem 3. I know they have no control on outside vendors they refer you to , but when you go to the vendor (20 miles away one way) find what gravel you want & call Deco tell them it's there you would think they would arrange to go get it. Not (Junior) everything was I'll talk to my dad & see if he can have them (OLIMAR) reserve it. That didn't happen, but then he tells me I like expensive stuff & that gravel cost $900. Ton- I said really- Problem 4. I'm looking at the price sheet & it's half the cost for a ton- then I find out I didn't need a ton I only needed 3/4 ton. Now I must say the workers worked. But with first impressions I wouldn't recommend DECO CONCRETE TO ANYONE / MY NEIGHBORS HAVE ASKED BUT WITH GOOD CONSCIENCE NO WAY. I initially used this company for my first home over 15 years ago and after the job was done I had people literally knocking on my door to complement the work and asked for the companies contact info. The process started by meeting the sales rep Jessi at my home (she was a few minutes late but given the traffic its understood) she showed me different patterns and gave us ideas on how to design the job. My wife is extremely picky and obsesses over the smallest details so she had me schedule several other companies and compare jobs. They were by far the best quality and attention to detail, I was shocked to see all the crappy work other companies are doing. They were not my cheapest estimate but we were really satisfied with the quality of work and how they handled the job from beginning to end. Hence, why we recently used them once again on our second home with no regrets. The fact that they were still around after all these years speaks volumes about the stability of this company, beware of other companies that open overnight that might take your money. I found Deco Concrete online a few days ago and called them for an estimate. So far, it has been one of the best experiences dealing with contractors in Miami. I was able to confirm a time for both me and my wife to be available, I received an email with a time confirmation and additional details. Jessi Torres was in front of my house on time and advised us on many factors we had not considered yet including permits, regulations and realistic timeframes for projects. After she took measurements, she worked with us on the estimate and gave us a presentation on our options and prices for our driveway. HUGE difference after the contract was signed. Their biggest priority is how much they can bill versus the time, service and materials. That being said, the money you spend, will not justify the work being done. We didn't mind spending the money as long as the end result was what we wanted, but even then, they came up short. To start, Junior will pressure you to leave with a signed contract upon his first visit. He's super charming until they have your deposit which will not be returned if you cancel for any reason. After that, be prepared to get ghosted if you have any questions or would like an update. When he does decide to get back to you he's condescending. They gave zero notice of when they were going to start the job after no communication for months. Were really rude any time we tried speaking to them. They had to change the design due to code but didn't communicate it. I noticed how it was framed before the pour and that's how we found out about the design change. Our driveway didn't pass inspection and it was another few months before they came back to rectify the problem...although they did say if we were willing to pay extra, then they'd come back to fix their mistake right away. Absolutely terrible customer service, especially considering how expensive they are. Never again. read more

We are really happy with our stamped concrete driveway! We have received countless compliments from the neighbors on how great the driveway looks. The service that we received was satisfactory. I would suggest you ask questions about the swale as our area required a large trench in front of our property which was unavoidable. In February 2017 Deco installed a 2 car driveway for us. By February 2018 we had hairline cracks in two of the three sections they installed. Spoke with Junior who came and looked at the cracks and said it was normal and not to worry. By August the cracks are over 1/8 inch wide with dime to quarter size chunks missing from driveway. I called again and again they stated it was normal and I should paint the driveway but the cracks would again show. I hired Deco Concrete to install stamped concrete in my driveway back in 2013. (met Gus at the Miami Home and Remodeling Show) The first issue I had was marring on the right side of the driveway. It looked as if someone dragged the tarp before the concrete set. Spoke with Gus several times concerning this issue. The result was an upgraded stain which, he said, would camouflage the obvious mistake. Of course, there was a price increase, supposedly less than if I had ordered the stain at the onset. Once the driveway was in, it was beautiful. The borders, as I pointed out to Gus, didn't match the stain on the driveway. He tried to convince me it did. Since the borders were painted, the swale area has lost most of its color. During the course of 2 years (2013-2014) I called the office numerous times, never received a return call. Yes I love the driveway, approximate cost $6500, but now I have to have the driveway sandblasted and re stained since the stain has worn off from parking on the driveway. Do not use this company Deco Concrete. They are unprofessional, dishonest and sexist. They wouldn't do an estimate without my husband present despite already being AT my house for the estimate. I should've known something was weird when I first called requesting an estimate for a driveway, that the secretary Maria mentioned that all adults of the household should be present for the estimate. I assumed, since I've been told I sound young, she thought I was a minor. I reassured her that I am the adult responsible for the matter. She confirmed again with me, so you are the adult paying? And I told her yes and figured that was the end of the matter. First red flag, is they didn't show up for the first scheduled estimate. They didn't call me or anything and I had to call them and ask if they were still coming out to do the estimate. The secretary said she was calling me to confirm the whole day before and I didn't answer. As it turns out, I never got the call because she typed in my cell number wrong. And their policy is they will not come out to do estimates without a verbal confirmation the day before. Weird, not even doctor's offices do that nor other contractors I've worked with need a verbal confirmation. Yes, they may call to remind me but they don't NEED me to call back to actually show up. So we rescheduled. I actually began having second thoughts so when I got the confirmation call, I ignored it knowing they won't bother coming out if I don't confirm with them the day before according to their policy. Yet today, this morning at 8:30am, the secretary calls to confirm for today's second scheduled estimate and let me know their salesperson is already on the way for our 9-10am scheduled window. How weird that their confirmation policy changed in a matter of days. Again, despite all these confirmations, there is no mention of my husband or another adult needing to be present. The salesperson scheduled to do my estimate, Jessi Torres, calls me several times and leaves a message at 9:40am and says she is 10 minutes away from my home and that I need to call her to confirm I'm home. So many confirmations needed. I call her back at 9:50am and she says she is still 10 minutes away, which again doesn't make sense. It's now 10:03am and I call her and she says she is 5 minutes away. At this point, I get upset and ask her to be honest where she is. She says she's on I-95 which means there is no way she is five minutes from my house and she was just being dishonest from the beginning about where she was. When she finally arrives, after the original appointment window, she immediately asks where my husband is? I ask her what does it matter and she says she can NOT do the estimate without my husband present. I actually laugh because I think she's joking and she says, "I'm serious, the secretary misinformed me that you were a single mom" (I was holding my son while talking to her). I ask her WHY DOES IT EVEN MATTER THAT MY HUSBAND IS PRESENT OR NOT? And basically, she tells me that it's a waste of her time to do the presentation when I will not make a decision TODAY due to having to discuss it with my husband. I told her of course I won't make a decision today whether my husband is present or not, because it's called SHOPPING AROUND and she is not the first estimate nor the last. She then asks for the paperwork from previous estimates which I refuse to give her and she asks me what price quotes I got and for the measurements...Again, if that's all they needed, was to hear other company's estimates, I could've done this on the phone. WHY doesn't she just MEASURE and give me a quote, which has taken two other companies 5 minutes to do WITHOUT NEEDING MY HUSBAND PRESENT?? The craziest thing, is she got an attitude with me that I WAS WASTING HER TIME, and not the other way around. I again told her, I'm the one responsible for the driveway preference, my husband actually has nothing to do with it and will never take off work for this matter when I'm the one responsible for it and it's my credit card I will be using to pay and she flat out told me she DOESN'T BELIEVE ME. She said her experience was that women always need to speak to their husbands before making a decision so this was their policy and the secretary made a mistake about not being more clear about this policy with me. SO DESPITE ALREADY HAVING DRIVEN TO MY HOUSE AND BEING PRESENT SHE WOULD NOT DO THE ESTIMATE UNLESS MY HUSBAND WAS PRESENT. I can guarantee you, if it was just my husband there and not me, this wouldn't have happened. Some pointers for you Deco Concrete: It's 2016. A woman can make competent decisions without her husband. And you do not know the dynamics of every relationship of your customers nor is it any of your business. Just do your job. People generally don't make decisions regarding thousands of dollars, right on the spot. They like to think about it and also SHOP AROUND. This isn't a new concept. read more

They are also very sexist and definitely think that a woman does not understand the process and therefore they can say anything and she would believe them. Definitely read a company's reviews before hiring any company for a job. At first everything can be done over the phone except for when they want their deposit or final payment.
