On July 14, 2020 at approximately 4:00 PM I arrived at the K and G Men's Store located at 667 North…read moreCockrell Hill, Duncanville, TX 75116. My intention was to purchase a suit for an upcoming funeral in which I had to perform vocally at. Upon arriving at K and G I was informed that the store offered tailoring on the spot for an additional fee and I had a suit brought with me purchased from FINO A Gentleman Clothier, 3662 W. Camp Wisdom Road. This suit for my engineer needed some slight alterations; which I paid for and they were done. Upon paying for the altered suit the clothing was hung in plain sight next to the tailor's sewing room. I then proceeded to try on a jacket, pant, tie, and shirt which the tailor Amy helped me with. While trying on the items I had to pass the tailoring area and realized my clothing had disappeared that was previously altered. After trying on and choosing items to purchase made my way to counter and paid for items and the tailor Amy brought the suit to front that had been previously altered. I then paid for the new alterations and once the tailoring was completed left the store. The night before leaving for the event I noticed that the tailoring was not accurate and also because of the fact the items disappeared we were not going to be able to wear them. The suit in question that was altered was $420.00 from FINO. I called K and G Customer Service and spoke with Tyra with customer service at 866-549-8254 # gave them Trans. #: 0309-42-10318, 0309-42-10310, 0309-42-10313. She gave me reference #19799033 and told me to contact store. I called the store and spoke with Hilda who informed me could receive refund once she saw the clothing. I do not have a vehicle, so it is expensive to travel to the store $29.00 both ways in a Lyft. we have already spent $120.00 in Lyft fees due to this situation. As of 07.26.20 Hilda refused refund and offered store credit on some of the items. That is unacceptable and I feel as if we should get all of the 256.00 back plus 120.00 for our transportation cost. I dry cleaned the clothing due to some light soiling from tailoring and COVID concerns but did not wear them and have video proving that fact. There is no information on the receipt stating the clothes cannot be dry cleaned if seeking refund. I have a recording of the employee Stone stipulating that fact. I was hung up on by Corrine and my Engineer/Spouse was treated very rudely when trying to take the clothing back. These items were intended for a funeral performance. I was unable to wear them which dramatically affected my performance. I had to spend another $475.16 at Express in Abilene, Texas Mall to purchase clothing for said performance at the last minute because we did not feel comfortable wearing this clothing and the tailoring was not done correctly and to my specifications. All told this has cost me $831.42 and I would like to collect some of those funds back. I have never been treated so rudely and unprofessional. I am an honest individual and work hard for my money, this funeral was already done at no charge as the store was made aware of and still, they seek to add insult to injury. I cannot tell you the emotional distress this has placed upon me; for I have yet to finish grieving for my Aunt and have to be subjected to this treatment for simply, trying to patronize this establishment and spend honest money in this time of global crisis. Thank you for your time and cooperation in advance. As an African American Male I feel in this political climate it is imperative to stand up for my rights as a consumer in a positive manner. My attempts to create a win-win with K and G Duncanville were futile and I sincerely hope your great establishment can help! Sincerely, Rodney

On 9/6/22 this store provided the worst shopping experience I've had in years. The place looks OK…read morefrom I-35 but when you actually try to shop there you realize this is a bad dream if a store. I went in there strongly motivated to spend money on clothes for my elderly disabled friend, but I was defeated So disappointing, because I actually brought my friend with me. He is poor, but by golly, he deserves to be treated courteously! That did not happen at this Ross store. I feel terribly disappointed that we had to run into a rude and insulting salesgirl. My friend had been *very* excited to know he was about to get some decent clothes. It was kind of a big deal to him! When we left that store empty-handed I was just heartbroken on his behalf. He was looking forward to a special social event the next day and definitely need something to wear. I had a strong feeling we were being racially profiled. My friend is an American Indian (though he could be mistaken for Hispanic) and I'm extremely White. We're both senior citizens. Racial and cultural prejudice enable people to treat others as less-than-human, un-deserving of respect, dignity consideration. BESIDES racial and cultural prejudice, what DOES provoke people to treat others rudely? Neither one of us knows the neighborhood. My friend just moved to Desoto and doesn't drive, and I'm from North Dallas. I googled places to buy men's clothes in Desoto and found Ross. But before taking my friend here, I actually checked out Ross stores in Dallas and Ft Worth. (You see, I needed to be reassured the Ross "brand" has improved since I visited a bad Ross store several years ago) Yes, I actually visited Ross stores to make sure It would be OK to bring my friend to one. Those Ross stores were just fine and the prices were terrific. I thought we'd have a happy, productive shopping experience at the Desoto Ross. Nope. Just TOSS THIS ROSS!!! HERE IN DESOTO -- unlike at other Ross stores -- the parking lot is dark and littered with trash. Entrance looks like an employees-only backdoor. Inventory is not much better than a garage sale, and the prices are ridiculously high. (Completely out of line!). It's beneath Ross standards which, let's face it, aren't that high. Not enough to make you stay home? Try getting help from the rude employees! They act like their housekeeping chores are more important than what a customer asks. Just forget about using the dressing room if the clerk has to "do rack" whatever the heck that means! We found the dressing room blocked by a bunch of racks pushed together Eevery which-way -- as if children had erected a barricade. We were then DISS-served by a girl who rushed over to tell us the dressing room was "closed". She could not communicate in sentences, displayed the social skills of a hostile 8th-grader, and seemed to lack simple problem-solving skills. WHILE WE WERE TALKING TO HER, SHE TURNED HER BACK AND WALKED AWAY. No matter where you come from, no matter who you are, that is an insult. Am I mad at HER? Nope! She had poor home training, or lacked proper education at school, or she receives awful leadership from her supervisor. She probably missed out on every score: home, education and supervision. I'm sad that young people go out into the world without adequate preparation for retail sales jobs. (Really, of course, it is on me and on ALL of us who have not committed enough resources to our education system) Well, she is young, and I hope she'll gradually acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes she needs to do the job. However, I do not think respect for others is easy to acquire. Nor is it easy to overcome racial contempt. This generally requires spiritual insight. Shame on Ross. This store needs leadership and management. And if they don't start doing what the retail industry calls "merchandising" ( look it up, Ross! ) they won't survive in business a heck of a lot longer. If this store isn't worthy of the investment they should close it

I declined mainly because i was disappointed and greatly disgusted that women of color would discriminate me another woman of color. Might not have been the same color but who is? I just wish the managers would put themselves in my position and ask themselves does 30% off make things better? I would have preferred them to tell me a training session will be held due to this unfortunate situation. I will never return and i will encourage my friends and family never to visit this location again. I might return with my camera on to show the customer service and how it differs depending on your race.
