Honestly, this kind of winter weather and ice buildup isn't something we see a lot around here, so we weren't even sure it could be properly addressed... Eddie was incredibly upfront and honest from the start--no sugarcoating, just straight talk about what we were dealing with. Instead of giving up or saying "it just can't be done" (which is exactly what another local roofing company told me), he stuck with it. He got creative, tried a few different approaches to work through the problem, and we kept troubleshooting together until we landed on the best fix possible. I REALLY appreciated his persistence and problem-solving attitude. In the end, I'm pleased with how it turned out, and I feel confident the issue is handled properly thanks to his effort. If you're dealing with a roof concern and want someone who actually cares and won't quit on you, ask for Eddie. Highly recommend! Thank you, Eddie: you made a stressful situation better.

It was the first big girl project in this house, and one I WANTED to do, rather than had to do. Anyway, I hired JW McLeod because Cary came highly recommended. I saw his work first hand and was sure this guy would do great. Originally, he quoted me 4-5 days. It took 2 weeks, and it's still not finished. Cary did the majority of the work. His guys came in for the first day of demolition, so this is really about him not his crew. There are things I didn't know, but expected a licensed contractor to know. For example, he asked me if I wanted to tile all the way up to the ceiling, of course I said yes. However, I didn't know it should have had a framed border where the tile met the ceiling. He's the expert, he should have known. Now, FULL disclosure, I paid him BEFORE the job was done, so I know where I went wrong. Long story short, as you'll see in the pictures, I have an incomplete shower remodel. The shower door wasn't installed properly and it leaks. There is BLACK grout all over my walls and ceiling. There are holes in the dry wall needing repair. I told him he didn't have to paint because I hadn't picked a color yet. He was supposed to install a plexiglas shelf in the middle of the niche so I had more places to put my junk (typical girl with a lot of hair products). That's no excuse for leaving the room as he did. I sent him and email on the 23rd of November, after trying to contact him via phone for a week. His number is now out of service.

Our house is currently under contract to be sold, and needed some repairs done and he was very quick to give us a quote and let us know when he could get the job done. He explained to us pretty detailed how he'd do the job, which reassured me he knew what he was doing! He was able to come out within a day or two of us contacting him. Cary did more than enough to help us and extremely satisfied with the work he did for us. We would definitely use him again!

Weston completely tore out and remodeled a bathroom for us. He is also done fence, deck and gate jobs for us. His work is flawless and he is an excellent communicator. He was glad to give us his opinion, and he ALWAYS said, "Yes, we can make that work," when I had some idea I wasn't sure about. Or if the idea was too crazy or if there were less expensive options that would work just as well, he made sure I knew my choices. I cannot say enough good things about him. He will not be the cheapest option, but neither was he the most expensive, and that was precisely what I wanted. I was so grateful we found him early on as part of our kitchen remodel. Before we moved away, in addition to the kitchen, he had given us a new back deck, a basement apartment, an EV charger, a new window, and two remodeled bathrooms. To say that we appreciated him is a huge understatement. Do yourself a favor and use Weston. You'll be so glad you did.

Unfortunately, the project was abandoned before completion. Despite having been paid, the contractor did not complete the contracted work, and we experienced significant problems with communication, scheduling, and getting the project finished. There were also issues during the project involving workers, tools, materials, and work that remained incomplete. We made numerous attempts to communicate and give the contractor an opportunity to fulfill his contractual obligations, but the project still was not completed. We have documentation supporting our experience, including the contract, payment records, photographs, messages, and records of work performed. We have since had to pursue other avenues to address the situation, including filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and looking into the appropriate licensing and legal processes. I am sharing this review because I believe potential customers deserve to know about our firsthand experience before hiring a contractor. This review is not based on hearsay or someone else's experience--it is based on what happened to us. I sincerely hope Stanley Custom Builders takes responsibility for the unfinished work and resolves the matter appropriately.
