Your employees have been nothing less than timely, professional, and hardworking. Each member of your team has provided excellence and answered all of our questions along the way. We highly recommend your company and will do so with friends and acquaintances that inquire about deck rebuilt and repair projects in the future. We are thrilled to show off our new deck and eager to see the finished product once the staining and painting are complete. When we initially began the process of finding a company to create the deck and outdoor experience we were looking for, we researched diligently and your outstanding company reviews were the leading factor into pursuing your company. Initially, we inquired for a reference on the NextDoor smart phone app and you were recommended by one of your past customers. We looked at four different companies and decided on Deckscapes for our project. Although our initial project planning changes along the way, we are so happy we chose your company. Thank you for your outstanding and TRUSTWORTHY service.

The construction of Zen windows had a superior quality than the other windows we interviewed. Installation by Marcos and his crew was efficient and professional. Window installation was quick, while making a difficult job look easy. While selecting for a window company can be daunting, we searched through the internet for window ratings and found Provia Endure Windows to be highly rated. Lifetime warranty for the windows and installation also were deciding factors for us. While I appreciated their history, classic look and the fact that they were still in good shape, it was clear they needed to be updated. I contacted several window companies around town, both local and national establishments. After being put off by some of the high pressure, in person sales tactics other places had, I found the approach that Brian and his team at Zen Windows very refreshing. I also saw that they were voted Best in Charlotte by Charlotte Magazine in 2020, and I wanted to support a local business if I could. Brian was very generous with his time, and it only took a few phone calls with him and a quick visit from his installer to get measurements for them to have all the information they needed. I was impressed with how simple and straightforward the process was. Another huge selling point was that I wouldn't have to pay anything until the job was complete, a big difference from other companies. The turnaround took about three months for the windows to be built, but I would chalk that up to COVID, supply chain issues and increased demand for home projects because of the pandemic rather than anything on Zen's end. Quoted turnaround times at other businesses were similar. Once the windows were ready, Zen sent a simple three man crew to my home to perform the installation. Each gentleman on the crew probably had 30-40 years of window installation themselves, so as a team they were pretty capable. In just two quick morning sessions, my windows were complete! I'm extremely happy with the end result. The windows are fantastic, incredibly easy to use, they look great (black exterior FTW), and I can already tell they perform much better than the old ones. Brian and his team did an outstanding job, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their windows!

My husband is an architect and designed our project which included cantilevered steps on all three structures. We first met with our sales rep, Mike Luick, and he was very nice & had a really good understanding of the complexity involved in building the structures. He stated he would have "Archadeck's best carpenter" work on our project and there is no doubt that we definitely received the best. Colby Parks and his dad, Gene, were phenomenal to work alongside and set the bar high for any other carpenter or any type of contractor we ever encounter. Colby is a master carpenter - he is highly skilled, smart, an excellent communicator & problem solver and takes great pride in every single detail. Colby & Gene kept a meticulously clean jobsite and even put plastic under their truck to be sure oil didn't leak on our driveway - these are the little things that are a big deal. Ultimately, they cared just as much about the final product as we did - as if it were their own. We did encounter issues with the stain crew on our rear deck, but without going into all of the details, I'll just say that between Mike Luick and the stain crew supervisor, Ismael, they did whatever it took to make things right & to make sure we were completely satisfied. In the end we love our new porches and rear deck. Here are our Pros and Cons: PROS: 1. Colby Parks and Gene Parks 2. Archadeck did whatever we requested to fix any and all issues we encountered with the staining to make sure we were completely satisfied. 3. Mike Luick is great to work with and very professional - nice guy. 4. Ismael - I'm sure he's always "putting out fires", but he keeps things very professional & is always friendly. 5. Warranty CONS: 1. Expensive - Archadeck should only use Premium lumber on their projects, especially for the price we paid. 2. Stain crew - did not take pride in their work, were in a rush to get it done and always left trash or debris in our yard.

When I asked about matching the existing rock we already have around our pool, I was immediately told that wasn't possible and that I had to choose only from what they sold. Things became even more uncomfortable after he seemed irritated that my wife wasn't able to join us for the meeting. From there, he proceeded to give unsolicited marital advice before packing up his things and leaving. It took a lot of restraint not to respond rudely in return. Bless his heart. I ultimately left a 1-star review because if the company struggles this badly with the easy part -- basic professionalism and customer interaction -- I have no confidence they could successfully deliver on the hard part.

I responded in surprise so what what is your 90% ballpark estimate as we discussed (understanding minor adjustments and design changes can change cost as well as materials prices). His response was 30k so I asked he email me it as we discussed to confirm the size and design and again he said I don't do that and if you want to move forward we can get more detailed. I asked him directly " am I detecting an attitude in your responses as my desire is to make sure we are on the same page. If I can't get the estimating person to provide a basic estimate to build off with out a tone that I should just agree and hand him my cash is unacceptable. A basic estimate would have taken him maybe 15 minutes and would lay out timelines, payment schedule and clarification on what the 30k provides is not to much to expect. Under no conditions would I agree to any work where I get a fraction of my desires addressed / confirmed understanding and then be spoken to like "agree to us doing it then we can address your questions with a condescending tone. I thanked him and walked him to his vehicle. I called the office and explained my dissatisfaction and refuse to use a company that the sales person can not keep his frustration in check and forgot I am the one paying for the project and not some guy on the street that was interfering with his day. Attitude and respect sets the stage and if providing a quote is an annoyance, then don't advertise a free quote (perhaps the old saying you you get what you pay for is true, I paid noting and got my money's worth). I would prefer to pay for an estimate fee and feel my desires were heard and understood as I make my decision. George

Halls and Walls - The second TV busted that day.

READ BEFORE YOU BOOK THEM…read more Just to start, he dropped my brand new out the box 65" TV ( $700 ) and busted it while he was chatting on the phone. We had to wait 3 days for the install. He damaged our walls, left holes (8) and then toke us to court for $80 he still changed for the install!!! Geesh! We had a Christmas party and wanted to have the TV mounted so we could play music HOW IT STARTED. He arrived 30 minutes after the agreed time (3pm Christmas Eve) but that wasn't a big deal, it's Christmas Eve. Once he arrived he was very talkative about things not related to the job. I left him to work so it could get done since I felt like a distraction. However, I actually ended up feeling a bit uneasy at first because he came into The kitchen while I was washing dishes, walking up behind me...that startled me. He randomly was asking about my kitchen cabinets and random things. He started sharing Things like how he hunts and owns land, the people he knows, even sharing an experience he had when he felt sexually disrespected by a friend! I honesty went to my safe and put my gun on me. I didn't know where that was going, it was really weird. (My husband was at work so we were all alone). It was really hard to feel comfortable with him talking so much and moving around in areas not related to the job but at some point I just sat down and started recording him. HOW THE TV GOT BUSTED: (RECORDED ON VIDEO) He received a call and had the phone held under his cheek so he could talk. As he picked the TV up he had laid face down on the floor, it slipped out of his hand and he almost dropped his phone. Saving his phone he dropped the TV. He said a few words but proceeded to mount the TV. Once it was mounted, plugged up and turned on the screen was destroyed. Derrick, the guy doing the install, finally tells me he's going to buy a new TV to avoid filing an insurance claim. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT Derrick walked out the door and I asked him if I needed to text him the TV model, he said no that he got it. An hour later he comes back as promised with a new orange box TV...one problem, that's wasn't what I paid for. Once he got it in the house I told him it wasn't the same as the TV he broke. He argued that it was, a 65" TV but I had to show him the brand was wrong. That TV was about $200 cheaper than my TV. He was very upset and walked outside mumbling certain !#% words to himself. THE SECOND REPLACEMENT He left out to get the right TV. At this point it's TWO HOURS LATER... almost 5:30pm. I sent him a picture of the right TV and the store he could find them at. A little over an hour later he comes back with the right TV. At this point he's fussing and complaining about the entire situation. He mounts the TV but the measurements and level were wrong so he had to redrill. He drilled so much he offered to patch the holes for free when we moved. Smh. TV mounted, plugged up and turned on, BUSTED! Screen messed up. At this point he lost it. THE OFFER IT WAS TOO LATE to get another TV so he promised to come back after Christmas to Replace the TV again. THE THRID REPLACEMENT As promised he showed up an hour early, got the TV and receipt he left and went to get a new TV. ! He is extremely talkative. My husband helped him with the mount, plugged up turned on it worked! THE ARGUMENT ONCE THE TV WAS MOUNTED he told me he was sending an invoice for payment. While I fully intended to pay at the beginning I was surprised he wanted me to pay the full amount cost giving nothing for the loss we incurred for Christmas nor our inconvenience. Nothing. He argued with my husband for about 15 minutes about how he spent gas . (Drilled over 6 extra holes in our wall, big holes, and my husband helped him mount the TV) THE END I simply told him he owes me a discount. I didn't ask for free, even though I feel like it should be. He eventually offered $80 but I'm not sure he should get that. This entire event is recorded. My advice to you...RECORD

They also responded to my Yelp project request very quickly. They completed the work on time (even a day early), the team was courteous and professional, and the quality of their work is great. They listened to direction well, and corrected any issues that arose (they put back a light fixture in the wrong place and moved it after we pointed it out). I feel they knew what they were doing and the best products to use. They covered our flooring and elements that were not getting painted to prevent damage and I can't find any paint spills or smudges anywhere. Our project also involved a lot of wallpaper removal. I was nervous about this because if the wallpaper is not removed correctly the wall can be damaged or leftover wallpaper glue can cause the new paint not to adhere correctly. But it seems they did a great job with that part too. They communicated well with us via text. We weren't able to check on the project in person every day so they sent photos and details on progress. I plan to use them again for additional painting projects.

On September 20, 2021, I contracted with this company to build an outdoor kitchen for $56,000. I paid the full amount in good faith. The project started off well but was never completed. By the end of 2022, work slowed significantly and eventually stopped. I was told there were personal circumstances, which I respected, but over time communication stopped completely. Throughout 2023, I made multiple attempts to reach out by phone, text, and email with no response. Due to the lack of completion, I had no choice but to hire another contractor, which cost me an additional $22,000 out of pocket to finish the project. There were also issues with the original work that required further repairs. In 2025, we met and a written agreement was signed for repayment. Some payments were made initially, but communication stopped again and payments have not continued. I have documentation of:* The original contract* Proof of full payment* The signed repayment agreement* Receipts for additional costs* Photos of incomplete/defective work I am currently pursuing recovery of my funds.
