In fairness, I was told I could call in at any time. - My first real problem started when I finished my treatment. They had a trainee scan my teeth for the permanent retainer, who spent 15 mins waving the wand around in my mouth. The trainee was being monitored, but after all that work, something that important should have been done directly by a dentist. Additionally, the attachments weren't removed first, which meant they were digitally removed later, this could also be part of why I had trouble later. - My retainers ended up being very tight and painful to wear. I made a follow-up appointment and several calls regarding them, and was told they are fine and that Vivera retainers take 'some getting used to.' However, I then began to develop staining on my front teeth and tooth sensitivity, which I've never had in my life. I made another call and was told in order to be helped, I had to make an appointment for a cleaning (not included in my plan), so that they can polish off the stains and examine my teeth. - The cleaning ended up costing $500, I was upsold a ~$70 electric toothbrush which I was told would help with staining (it did not). I was also told that cleaning my retainers with dish soap was the cause of the problem, so I started using retainer tablets instead, but the stains returned shortly after. - I realized the retainers WERE the issue, and told them I want to get rescanned for new ones. I was charged an additional $320 for them*, and had to toss out the old set. However, due to the pain, I'd stopped wearing the retainers as consistently, and my teeth had shifted. *(Again, being fully fair, they agreed to refund me $290 for my first set of retainers, but ended up just wiping out a $250 balance for my cleaning. Letting me absorb the $40 difference) - I then asked if I had any refinement trays included to fix the shifting, but was told my case had expired. - I found out the office had elected to use Invisalign Go (a lite version that expires a year after its start, despite the fact my invoice says 'Invisalign - Regular Case'). The standard Invisalign version expires after five years. For the curious, I was charged $5400 for a short 6 month treatment plan and 12 trays (Online estimates how that Invisalign Go should cost $3k-$4k, and that it cost the office ~$1k to purchase them). However, even that limited plan should have left me plenty of time to get my refinement ordered. Except: My initial complaints about the retainer, staining, sensitivity, and discomfort were waved away for months. When I finally requested a rescan for new retainers, I was not told my teeth had shifted, though it should have been clear to them they had. I requested my scans months before my expiration to verify what I was seeing, but was repeatedly told the scans are 'too difficult to send.' When I finally got them in March (after pushing) I could clearly see they had shifted. But my case had expired in January. The reason I chose this office was because it was $500 dollars cheaper than an orthodontist's quote I received. However, the orthodontist offered a comprehensive plan of Invisalign & 1 free set of retainers, and I'm certain I would not have had the issues I did with staining and tooth sensitivity had I gone there. On top of that, I ended up paying an additional (~$600 for retainers, $500 for a cleaning, and another $70 for a toothbrush), essentially making this option more expensive. And at the end of it, my teeth aren't fully straight, which was the whole point of doing this. I still quite like Dr. Collins and the office, but I'm not exactly happy, so three stars. *Edit: was provided a $1260 refund for inconveniences suffered.

Hello, I would like to Thank Ambar for the wonderful…read moreteeth cleaning task that she provided for me. It was not a issue at all with Ambar as she has a talent of doing this without pain or discomfort at all. She is very considerate of how I feel while having this done and asks if I am doing OK. I am one Lucky guy to find Dr. Rincon and her Entire staff from Vivian at the front desk and the entire staff that are taking care of Patients in the back. We all know how uptight it can be to have a dentist appointment. Well this is sure not the case when I have an appointment. I Always feel at ease and comfortable while having an appointment. The fact is that being 74 years of age having Dr.Rincon is one of two best dentist I have ever had in my Life. Thank You, Dr. Rincon & Staff for jobs well done. My Very Best, Richard S.

Considering how many unfortunate experiences I've had, as I was not blessed with strong and healthy teeth, it means everything to not be afraid to have work done. We started with a cleaning and the years of projects I've held off on quickly became clear to her, but she never made me feel embarrassed or scared. Dr Rincon is so sweet and rather funny, and we addressed the biggest issues head on. We've done quite a bit together since I first saw her last year and my every interaction with her staff has been amazing. I particularly love Julia, one of her assistants, and Vivian up front is as kind and caring as they come. Her husband works there too and he's just delightful. They go so far as to provide comfortable neck pillows, giant glasses to go over my normal glasses so the lights don't hurt my eyes, and their music is great. It's truly a dream. But best of all, the doc checks on you to make sure you're doing okay after a big procedure. I've literally never had a dentist do that for me. She genuinely cares and it shines through in everything she does. I would not only recommend this to you, dear Yelper, but to my friends and family as well. I absolutely love this practice and feel like I hit the jackpot. You'll see what I mean if you go too. They're truly incredible.

We think we will be treated with care, respect, honesty and compassion when something comes up. Am i wrong? [TL;DR ---- cavity turned into root canal within 1.5 wks. wanted credit to root canal (about 45 bucks). office refused in a shady way] Alafaya Dental Care was recommended by a friend of mine. ACTUALLY, it was more like 4 friends. If 4 for your friends go to see the same dental office, you would think, "Wow, I guess they are doing a great job!". Well, maybe I'm the outlier but hear me out. I confess. I was one of those that didn't have insurance for awhile so I didn't have the opportunity to see the dentist a lot and thus, I got some work to do on my teeth. I understood I would be spending a pretty penny on my teeth after neglecting for awhile . My first visit here -- I got my treatment plan for cavities and some deep cleaning. Cool Cool. Schedule me. My second visit -- Alright one side of the teeth was scaled and planed and a cavity was filled. A deep one, I was told. My third visit -- (about 1.5 wk after my 2nd visit) more cleaning and hey Doc, my tooth hurts on the cavity that was a deep filling. Doc says, okay *taptap*, it look likes it needs a root canal. I'm thinking over here, wow, ok, I'll bite the bullet since it hurts like a mutherferrrr. Then I was thinking wait a minute, I DID PAY for the cavity which she filled a week and a half ago (out of pocket, maybe 40-50 bucks at the most, rest was by insurance). I kindly asked the front desk lady, would it be possible to have my cavity payment applied to my root canal since I had just got it done? Literally. She's wavering and not knowing what to tell me, but says something to the effect like, it seems reasonable but let me ask the doctor. She goes back there and says the Dentist can't be reached WHILE the Dental Assistant that was in the same room, comes out and scribbles "no discount" on the my treatment paper, and slides it back to the front desk lady, WITHOUT acknowledging me. The front desk lady flips over the paper but never tells me if they were able to apply the credit. OKAY.... That was a Tuesday. Thursday comes around and I called the office. Another front desk lady answers the phone, I explained to her the exact situation of how I needed a root canal after 1.5 wks of filling and I just want a credit of what I paid for it. She didn't think like I was crazy or psychotic for asking and said it sounds logical but let me ask. I call again that same day to get the answer and the lady that checked me out last time and schedules me all the time gives me the answer. The answer was No. She says the discount cannot be given and in her exact words, "the work was performed". She assured me she had ask the dentist and that was the dentists choice. After that phone call, I contemplated of getting the work done by them further but I REFUSE to go back there. I no longer want work to be done on my teeth by people that cares more about 45 dollars than a patient that they want to see further and really care about. To quote what I said earlier, I am looking for a doctor that treats patients with, "care, respect, honesty and compassion when something comes up". This dental practice did not follow the personal qualities I'm looking for. They made me feel dumb and was not being honest when they already decided what they were going to do. The 1 star was for the hygenist because she seem genuinely nice and cared. The office was also clean, 2nd star. [TL;DR ---- cavity turned into root canal within 1.5 wks. wanted credit to root canal (about 45 bucks). office refused in a shady way. Office clean. Hygienist nice. 2 stars]
