5.09 lb slab of beef flank... 1.6lbs of which was fat.

This is potentially the worst commissary I've been to. They have a pretty good selection of goods and I don't think I've ever left the commissary without all the ingredients I need. And to be honest, I think their prices are well comparable if not better than all the local grocery stores around. There are two things I don't like about the commissary. The first is that they have extremely low quality fruits and vegetables. I've had very little luck with the strawberries and grapes and the vegetables are worse! My go to vegetables- broccoli and kale are always limp and yellowing. The second thing I do not like about the commissary is actually a bad experience I had. I admit that the commissary actually has a wide selection of meats, way more than the food lion and walmart near my house. I recently bought a 5.09 lb slab of beef flank. It was packaged really well and the meat looked fresh and all around really great. When I got home and unpackaged the meat, the ENTIRE back side was fat. It was folded in half so that only the meat portion was displayed but upon unraveling it was clear that they were clearly trying to hide the fat! I ended up weighing the fat that I had to trim and it amounted to 1.6 lbs of fat. Again, I understand that meat has fat in it so I'm not mad about that. It's just really the dishonesty that bugs me.

Apparently these get sold now. $8.41 for a single one or $99.99 for a case

Horrible customer service, the cashier was very rude.i wish I would have gotten her name but she was disgruntled and shouldn't be a cashier.

This location seems typical to what I've visited while in NC, but nowhere as nice as the ones where I live in LA. Redeeming quality is they have GOOD clothing selections and clearance prices. Now, they lost me with the $34 family pack of ground ground beef. Also, if you want me to SELF CHECKOUT, I don't need your workers staring at me like I'm stealing, because I don't need to steal anything.

I arrive 10 minutes before opening to see a short line. The doors open and there's a mad dash to electronics. Find myself first in line and excited to leave the store with a new console. Workers are fully aware of the 10 plus people waiting at their register and are seen huddled by layaway discussing something. An associate approaches telling us all they are out of stock. Naturally everyone points to the website and wants an explanation. They stick to their story of having no stock. Slowly, everyone walks away disappointed. Something isn't right. Other locations have completely ignored online preorders and sold stock as it gets in . I question a few of the employees. Eventually the head of electronics admits they have consoles in the back. So you lied to everyone? Is that how Walmart conducts business? Apparently so... Based on the different stories I heard from several associates I can only guess they're saving them for friends or themselves. Why else are you not selling an item that released 3 days ago? There's no other explanation. If you want groceries, this place is ok. If you want honesty and integrity from electronics regarding stock and selling what they have on hand, STAY AWAY.

I like these European style groceries because they actually allow for a quick and easy in and out with minimum waste and fanfare. So make sure you bring your own reusable bags with you. The bakery selection just inside the door is probably the most noteworthy part of a visit here. Then there's a huge selection of fruits and veggies followed immediately by meats and dairy. If you're following a low preservative, low added sugars diet, you can be done with your shopping within this first third of the store. As you come in, don't forget to snag the latest coupon ad. There's always some fantastic deals on meats, usually including grass-fed beef. Aside from what I call "real food", there are plenty of boxed and packaged foods to fit all the average American kitchen desires. Cookies, crackers, chips, cereal, canned, frozen, spices, baking needs, and so on. The far side wall has a huge selection of wine, including occasionally unexpected varietals like Tempranillo and Cotes du Rhone. A lot of European import cookies and chocolates can be readily found on this side too. And I would be remiss not to mention the large selection of hard household goods filling most of the back of the store. Think kitchen utensils, bowls, hygiene items, basic clothing, seasonal stuff, and fitness gear just to name a sampling. Checkout is sometimes overwhelmed and takes the most time to get through. Also, if your needs are for unique items, you will probably never find everything on your list here. Prices, however, make it worth the rest.
