Honestly, this commissary needs to hire better cashiers especially the people that work at self check out. The cashier was rude, and didn't help me out at all. The pin pad was not working and you could clearly tell because I was standing there for 5 minutes after asking the cashier for help. All she did was clear it out, but still didn't even look at the pin pad. When I tried to address it to her, she just said that it was slow and walked away. Produce is hit or miss. Bought some peaches that were all rotten inside. Bought some strawberries that all tasted like dirt Bought a cucumber that was rotten on the bottom - my fault for not looking hard enough. Bought a honeydew that was awful. Bought a green pepper that had a creepy little spider living inside - that was a scare! 5 things so far and I've only shopped here twice. I will be more careful with produce next time and maybe shop elsewhere for produce. I buy a lot of produce and then dozens of other things I bought were good :) you can always return something for a refund or exchange if you bring it in with your receipt. I think convenience is the main factor that I go here so much. The selection is ok and the location is great. Certain things are a no brainier for me to buy here but other things I can just pop down the road into Food Lion and get and not feel bad about it read more

This is potentially the worst commissary I've been to. They have a pretty good selection of goods and I don't think I've ever left the commissary without all the ingredients I need. And to be honest, I think their prices are well comparable if not better than all the local grocery stores around. There are two things I don't like about the commissary. The first is that they have extremely low quality fruits and vegetables. I've had very little luck with the strawberries and grapes and the vegetables are worse! My go to vegetables- broccoli and kale are always limp and yellowing. The second thing I do not like about the commissary is actually a bad experience I had. I admit that the commissary actually has a wide selection of meats, way more than the food lion and walmart near my house. I recently bought a 5.09 lb slab of beef flank. It was packaged really well and the meat looked fresh and all around really great. When I got home and unpackaged the meat, the ENTIRE back side was fat. It was folded in half so that only the meat portion was displayed but upon unraveling it was clear that they were clearly trying to hide the fat! I ended up weighing the fat that I had to trim and it amounted to 1.6 lbs of fat. Again, I understand that meat has fat in it so I'm not mad about that. They really need to get it together with the expired stuff on the shelves. I've reported expired items (more than a couple) many times, and they're always still there. Shame, too, because if they'd restock, I'd happily buy what they're selling (if it were NOT expired) The baggers are seldom nice. I prefer to bag my own items (they're MY items...) and I get crusty looks for saying I'll do so. The surcharge is age-old. It sucks, but it's there. Meh. I just really need to see less rude employees. The deli is great. Always prompt and always nice! read more

The base comments has not changed. You can get basic needs here and some of the German Foods from overseas. The product line changes and everything is hit or miss. I feel like a hoarder when I shop here because I buy a large quantity of everything. You never know when the specialities are going back on the shelf. I shop here about ever two weeks and miss about half the items because of it. Restocking is my biggest complaint here. read more

They only good thing is the prices. The employees are SOOO lazy, especially the cashiers in the self checkout line. And why do you have to show your I.D. Card 3 and four time while you are trying to checkout? Very unnecessary and aggravating!!! read more

Love shopping here. But remember to avoid the rush. Payday is the wrong time. It gets really hectic, and people get kind of crazy. Best time is early morning or late before closing. They just updated the store, and it looks great. They have sushi, limited organic produce. Bakery/deli section. Boars head deli, and an olive bar. They have limited bulk items like toilet paper, dishwasher soap, etc. Their is a savings isle full of different items. You can score good deals every so often there. They usually have good prices on meats, and such. Pretty big standard store, not much else to say. Sometimes the cashiers and baggers are moody. The baggers work only for tips, so it's nice to tip when you can. The South Post Commissary is connected to an exchange, a bank, florist, GNC, Barber shop, Gamestop, tactical shop, and H&R block. Their is also some random kiosks, that change all the time. In the food court you have Manchu Wok, Cinnabon, Popyees, Main Street USA, Anthony's Pizza, and Charley's Grilled Subs. Remember you have to be an approved shopper to use the commissary or exchange. But if your a civilian or guest you can still use any shops at the food court or in between the Com/Exc. read more

Great place to shop for groceries. If you have more than 1 person in your family and have access to this commissary, you need to shop here. As always, pay attention to prices versus civilian grocery stores ( they have loss-leader specials). But over all prices are cheaper and you have access to some great military-only coupons. I'm not sure why people are complaining about surcharges and tips for baggers. NC has a tax on groceries that is higher than the surcharge. And I believe a bagger deserves those tips. Contract to Administer the Commissary Rewards Card The new Commissary Rewards Card Site that began operation October 1, 2018 has never performed properly. It is a disaster that is grossly inferior to the old card and is a disservice to Commissary patrons: Customers are losing money every time they shop when they cannot use the digital coupons. The problems that existed on October 1st persist two months into the contract. It is inconceivable that ability of the contractor to perform satisfactorily was fully evaluated and vetted. My account is currently locked (again); I am unable to log in (again). I am able to change my password; however, subsequent login attempts are declared 'Invalid.' If/when I am able to log in (after contacting Tech Support) the display of clipped coupons in 'Your Wallet' is limited to approximately 15-20. When you select 'Load More,' nothing happens. Browsers used include Edge, Explorer, Firefox, and the recently Tech Support-recommended Chrome. Result is that when you go shopping, you have absolutely no idea of what product coupons are in 'Your Wallet' and on your card. After shopping, there is no way to determine what coupons were redeemed. No, it is not on the receipt, and it is not on the website as it was with the old card. And yes, I have contacted Tech Support - numerous times. Representatives report that my problems are common since 1 October and remains unresolved. A responsible Deca Official would have already thoroughly investigated the problems with the new card: * Create an account. * Select all available coupons. * Attempt to get them to display properly. * Log out. * Attempt to log in and find that your log-in credentials are 'Invalid.' * Reset your password that will also label your log-in credentials as 'Invalid.' Try this multiple times. * Make sure to endure the Tech Support telephone experience (20+ minutes every time) that may allow to access your account for a limited time period. Make sure you look at the display of coupons you've clipped. They won't all be there. * Be thorough and also submit a written complaint on the new card. I did to my local store manger and to DeCA Customer Service. * Patiently read the canned email responses that contain no useful information that you will receive as a result of your telephonic and email efforts. * Repeat. Nobody will ever fix it. A responsible DeCA official should have thoroughly tested the new card system prior to the implementation. Since problems continue to persist, a responsible DeCA official should think it appropriate to personally investigate rather than just forwarding problems and discrepancies to the site administrator for (non)-resolution. Before anyone attempts to attribute my problems to operator error: * I had Zero problems with the Commissary Rewards card prior to October 1, 2018. * I use digital coupons on other supermarket sites (Publix and Food Lion). I have Zero problems. A responsible Deca official should try these supermarket digital coupons to see how an efficient, effective system should work. * I do all my banking and bill-paying on-line. I'm not an expert but I do know what I'm doing. * At least two Tech Support reps were directly able to verify my problems with the site while I was on the telephone and they accessed my account. * Cashiers at the local Commissaries report Rewards Card use is down sine October1, 2018. What can I say, prices are good. Just do not go on payday! The fresh produce is lacking (it spoils way too fast). I typically save enough to make it worth the lines. Shelves empty quick on payday weekends but their stock and selection is good on the off weeks. The staff is polite and the naggers work hard so don't forget they work for tips only! read more
