Lisa met me at my house twice to measure and talk about what I wanted done. We picked a start date…read moreover the phone between meetings. The 2nd time she came we picked out colors and she gave me an estimate. It wasn't a typed up agreement, but she signed it and noted how much money I gave her and what was due. I gave her more than the amount she needed to start. Not within 2 days of our last meeting she informs me she can't do the job due to circumstances beyond her control. (I forget the the exact word she used but that's what she was saying). She told me she had someone who could work the job and it would be the same amount if I wanted to go that route. I asked her if it were something I said or did and she just said she couldn't explain and it was something that wasn't under her control. I asked her if she couldn't do the work at all and she said "no". I had already started prepping the room and bought new things to add to the finished room. When a contractor signs their own agreement, money is given and a start date, that person needs to honor that agreement. Yes I got my money back, she had her husband come to the door, she was probably on another job or just couldn't face me. Very unprofessional. I have my theory that she probably underbid herself and was embarrassed, so she just wouldn't do the job. Now I have to go through the whole process again with someone else. Lisa, I trusted you!

This is actually the second mural Patti has created for us -- she painted a stunning piece in our living room a few years ago, and when we decided we wanted something special for our patio, she was the only call we made. Patti has a rare gift for taking your vision and making it even better than you imagined. We gave her a photo as a starting point, and from there she brought her own creativity and warmth to every detail -- including charming portraits of my husband, our cat, and me woven right into the design. Working with her is an absolute delight; she's enthusiastic, collaborative, and genuinely fun to have around. The finished mural is a work of art we'll treasure for years. We can't recommend Patti highly enough!

Hiring Patti for our wedding was the ABSOLUTE BEST decision we made throughout the entire planning…read moreprocess :) She left such an impression that I am compelled to write this review 2.5 years after our wedding (holy moly time flies!). We planned our wedding within 4 months and not too long before our wedding I found Patti's Live Wedding Services. I wanted something interactive and unique at our wedding, but we were on a budget. I thought we would need to hire a performer and then something separate the guests could interact with or that was unique - Patti is all of this in one and then some! Plus she offers options to work with your budget. Having a live artist at our wedding was absolutely mesmerizing! Not to mention you get the most beautiful and sentimental piece of art to keep forever....oh and she is a sweetheart! Her presence at our wedding alone felt like a gift. Our DJ cancelled on us two weeks before the wedding, and our venue cancelled one week before the wedding. The beautiful energy that Patti brought to the wedding brought tears to my eyes. She painted our wedding ceremony and I chose the option to upgrade where she takes the painting home and adds even more detail. When I saw the painting on our wedding day I was blown away. I could not even imagine what more she could possible do to enhance the piece. However, when I picked up the final piece from her and saw she had added my flower girls (nieces) to the painting I lost it! I wouldn't have even thought of that and it was the perfect element that I did't even know it needed. It was also very neat because I was able to make a request (the original painting had my husband and I with the priest during the ceremony and I had her remove the priest - you can't even tell he was ever there). It is just the most precious painting! You can identify each of my guests in the painting - she is that good! It's amazing to look at it and be able to tell which one is my dad and mom or which one is my husband's grandmother. Patti's live art blew my expectations out of the water. We had small versions of the painting printed and used them as thank you cards to that each of guests could keep the memory. If there is ONE thing I would recommend to any bride, it would be to have live art at your wedding and ensure you use Patti. Honestly. It will be the best choice you made!

1st Stage Property Transformation - Living Room Home Staging in Newport Beach, Orange County

I have hired 1st Stage for multiple properties over the years. In the past, they generally did…read moregreat work and I was impressed with their staging style, professionalism, availability, and pricing. That said, my most recent experience was disappointing. I had them stage a modern townhouse in Costa Mesa near the beach. Unfortunately, the staging style they chose did not match the aesthetic of the property at all. I am not a designer, so I typically trust their vision and let them take the lead. This time, I reached out to their team and simply asked if we could swap out a few items to make the space feel more modern or beachy. I was told I would need to pay a restocking fee. That response was frustrating. I had referred them many jobs and clients in the past, and while the fee itself was not a large amount, it felt unnecessary and left a bad impression. They did eventually waive the fee, which I appreciated, but the situation already felt mishandled. Fast forward a bit. The property did not sell, and I requested that it be de-staged. Their team came out a few days later and removed the furniture. A few months after that, they emailed both me and my client, who was the actual party to the staging contract, claiming there was a prorated balance due for a few extra days the furniture remained in the home. The amount was under $400. The contract was between my client and 1st Stage, not me, so I was confused as to why I was included. Shortly after, Mark Sutton emailed me directly asking if I could take care of the payment by the next day. I found that extremely unprofessional. Agents are the ones who bring them business, and asking me to personally pay an invoice that had nothing to do with me showed a real lack of business judgment. I expressed my disappointment with their customer service, and the only response I received was a payment link. If you are looking for a stager who truly feels like a partner and values long-term relationships, I would think twice before using this company. In my experience, once an issue arises, you are treated like just another number, and preserving relationships does not seem to be a priority.
