I will start with the positive. The staff was very friendly from the very start. My hair looked good and the place was an old cute house. The not so good. From the moment you walk in you start spending money. Not including my sitting fee and hair, I spent 150 before I even went back downstairs to take my pics, including a tip that was "not expected but appreciated" I took my pics, made my appt to come back and view them and then when I did come back I found seven out of 100 that were worth taking home, however, since the pics are 159 ea unless you take the 8 for $800 package, I had to narrow it down to 3 ( which cost me 480) because there is no in between package. I will say the 3 I chose to take home, I did like but 480 for 3 pics is ridiculous. Overall I am glad I had the experience but so feel like I got a bit ripped off. read more

It was a ripoff. I bought a Groupon and spent a good few hours of my time doing the photoshoot. It was fun and all but when it came time for me to look at the pictures, it was a complete failure. I set up my return appointment and when I showed up their system was down and they couldn't show me the pictures. The lady that normally handles the appointment eventually left the the company. Well even though the shoot is suppose to be all inclusive with the groupon, they still charge your card 150 just "in case " you buy anything. Which you don't get a chance to because they never answer their phones. I have left many messages now and they still have not refunded my money nor showed me my pictures or even given me a good reason of what is going on. Don't waste your time and don't give them your money. Once you get in, 1 picture is almost 400 and a package can go up to 800. read more

Stay away from De Boudoir They are a RIP-OFF They will promise anything to get your money and then not give it to you! Your pictures are NOT going to look like ones posted on a web site! I went to the Houston location and my experience ended up being a nightmare! Please be aware that these are amateurs that are trying to get your money by making you think you are paying for a professional service. My photo-shoot was OK. There was no music and when I asked her if there is music available, she played her iphone on bad speakers. She was not very good at making me feel comfortable either. I could let this go but my major problem occurred when I came back to view the photos. I had let them know that this was a rush job and I needed the photos back the next day because I would be having them printed as a birthday present for my husband - she said no problem. There were 100 photos taken, and most of them were not very good at all (amateur work at best), bad angles and lighting. I found two photos that were acceptable but only if they could make color corrections and do several retouches to make the photos worth having. One of the corrections was to remove a large clothing label that was showing! Another correction was to fix the color (in the photo my face was a deep orange color)!!! They promised to make all the corrections and have the photos ready for me the next day. They said absolutely no problem! So I agreed and paid them. THEY LIED !!!!!!! The next day I did not get the photos! After two days I contacted them requesting my photos. They sent me the unacceptable photos with none of the changes they promised. When I contacted them they said they could not make the changes the photo editor was too busy. I let them know that the photos were not acceptable. They then reponded saying: "I apologise for these pictures. I could try to get them edited some more an hopefully have them by tonight. If you choose not to do this, we would be happy to refund your pictures. Please let me know" At this point it was too late. I would not have enough time to have the photos printed and framed so that I could ship them to my husband in time for his birthday. So I accepted their offer of a refund. They then wrote back that they would not give me a refund! They refused to honor any of their promises!!!! The photos are in the garbage and I am out over $300. read more

I really wanted to be able to write a good review, but it's kind of difficult to write a good review when there is NOTHING to review. I originally thought it was fortuitous when I saw the LivingSocial deal for this vendor since I was on the market for the exact services to give my fiance a gift on our wedding day, so I purchased the deal. I went through all the necessary steps of registering with the company, making the appointment, etc. Less than 48 hours before my scheduled appointment I was called and told that my appointment was going to be cancelled because the Houston location does not have a photographer! (That's kind of an important detail to alert people to when a PHOTOGRAPHY studio sells vouchers but does not actually have a photographer) Since I was the unfortunate client who was the only appointment booked for that day I was told it just wasn't monetarily sound for them to bring in a photographer from another city to honor their end of the appointment. I was given options of rescheduling weeks later or trying to get an appointment in another city (which was also unavailable), neither of which would have actually gotten me the services I paid for in time for my wedding. Living Social Buyer Beware: not in the fine print.... so my coupon includes $75 toward hair & make up and $65 towards a corset plus sitting fee, paid $39 on Living Social. It was a hassle getting this scheduled but then decided to go for it. The night before, get text and voice message about paying $159 upfront when I arrive. With this fee I'd get one "digital copy" . When I asked about size of photo, they said the $159 was just down payment that would go towards a photo pkt, ranging from $800-2,000. Ok, so recap with rep was I could not even get make up or photo shoot, corset as advertised on living Social without spending in the end $200. Even if I didn't want a picture. And thinking about it, a digital picture printed would of cost me more money and not to mention entrusting the half nude print at a photo printer. So I cancelled, losing $39 vs feeling resentful in the end. Feeling ripped off is not sexy, I can go get a makeover, full spa day and go get printed photos and do my own digital at home in lingerie ...there's photoshop too. Deceptive marketing and honestly after bringing this up to living social they wouldn't even issue a credit. Live & learn. read more

As a recently divorced mother of three, I never thought that I would be able to feel this beautiful again! The staff made me feel welcome from the beginning. The make up artist was very skilled in her craft and she made me look and feel amazing. The photographer was incredibly comforting. She made it feel normal to stand in front of her half naked! The sales girl was also very patient with me as I attempted to narrow down my pictures. It was hard! They were all so wonderful. If you want to feel beautiful and sexy again, this is the place to go. I had been feeling down in the dumps lately when I ran into a deal on Groupon for a boudoir shoot. So I thought to myself...why not?! I wasn't expecting much, just wanted to do something nice for myself. Although a bit nervous, the girls were fantastic! Gretchen, the photographer, was soooooo awesome. She made me feel so comfy even though I was half naked in front of her. Mimi, the makeup artist, was so lovely. She made me up like a beautiful princess. When I saw my pictures with Ignacia, the Sales girl, I was surprised. They were GOOD! I wanted them all (even though I couldn't get all of them). She was really good at helping me narrow them down. If there is one thing I could complain about is that there is no sign at the front, making the studio hard to find. Everyone was so much fun, though. I purchased the groupon deal and then went on to their site to select a time. I navigated through their poorly designed website. I realized I forgot to included having my hair done so I sent de Boudoir an email asking if they could add this service. A couple days before my scheduled appointment I got a confirmation voicemail but was told I made my reservation in Denver not Houston and to call them back to confirm if this was how it should have been. I quickly called back and said I meant to select Houston, she quickly replied with 'we'll still honor your groupon deal'. I was told to go online and make an appointment in Houston. I went online a couple weeks and found a shoot for June 8th in Houston at 6pm. I was very careful to watch the city so that it didn't change. I must have been so focused on the location that I didn't add makeup to my appointment. Again I emailed de Boudoir and asked them to add it. A couple days before my appointment I got another call saying I had now selected San Diego instead of Houston, so she cancelled my appointment and was again told to go online and be sure to schedule my appointment in the correct city. I was extremely annoyed at this point. I told the woman this was the second time scheduling online with the same result. I wanted to speak to someone who can schedule my appointment for me in fact I really just want to return my deal and get my money back. At that point she said 'Let's see what I can do'. She told me 'We have Saturday June 8th at 6pm available'. I literally wanted to scream at her. I told her that was the date and time I had selected online. She rebooked me for that time. I got about 10 emails about cancelled appointments and appointment reminders- none of which I found helpful. The appointment reminders had broken links to the website and reminders that guys are not allowed at the shoot or consultation. About 2 days before my appointment I missed a confirmation call so I called her back but it was very late so I left a message saying I'd be there. The next day I get another call from the same girl asking me to confirm my appointment. I called her back, told her I had left a message the day before, and asked her if she got that. She replied 'Oh I deleted it and then forgot who it was, heheh.' I arrived to de Boudoir on time, after passing it 3 times because there is no sign on the location. There is some small framed piece of computer paper under the light on the front porch that you cannot see as you drive past it. I was greeted by a young girl who took me upstairs, made me sign paperwork and asked me to pull out my wardrobe for the shoot. The photographer then took the items downstairs to stage them while I got hair and makeup done. The girl doing my hair wasn't very good but she was excellent at makeup. I then paid for my add-ons and was told tips weren't expected but appreciated. I was shown the price of photos- 1 photo cost $159, the whole lot would cost $2,000. I vowed then I wouldn't like more than 3 or 4 photos. I was then walked down stairs where the photographer told me which outfit I should put on first and then which room to walk in to. I did as she said and we did the full shoot. For my consultation I was greeted by a different girl and took up one flight of stairs and told to sit on a chair in the hallway while the girl prepared the room. I was a little annoyed because I had an appointment and could have prepared before I arrived. We looked through the grouping of photos. After my initial viewing I had 45 photos or so that I had said 'yes' to. Which was well over what I had wanted to spend so the girl rewalked through all the ones I said yes to so we could narrow it down. I ended up settling on 22 images. I paid for my photos with a knot in my stomach knowing how long it would take me to pay them off. I noticed some lumps in my thighs and butt that could be smoothed out and thought the photos were going to go back to the photographer (or whoever does the editing) for one final touchup- they weren't. When I got the photos I was told to 'save them everywhere and back them up.' I didn't get a copy of the release (allowing me to print the images) or a receipt! Paying as much as I did for the photos you should print a cd at the consultation or mail one! The quality of the hair service was horrendous. The cost of photos is absolutely outrageous. I will still need someone to retouch the photos to be completely happy with them. These photos are supposed to make someone feel beautiful and empowered but every time I look at them all I do is cringe and think of how much money I paid! Last but certainly not least your customer service is beyond appalling- from the issues making appointments to the calls from the representatives to the emails about my appointment. I honestly should have listened to my gut and lost the $35 I paid for the stupid groupon deal. read more

A friend of mine bought me a Groupon for this business thinking it would be a great gift. I was excited to see what they offered. Right off the bat I needed to to spend $150+ on hair, make-up, and "highly recommended" fake eyelash application. I was then told I was required to spend $159 for one digital image with release and shocked to find that the next option was $800. The shooting process was good, the photographer was personable and encouraging. Though be warned, the photographer was from out of town so the images on their website may NOT be from your photographer and they are contract like the hair/make-up artist and have the "not expected but appreciated" tip line for the photographer as well! Next, you need to schedule an hour appointment to come back in to view your photos. You MUST make your selections in that appointment. There is no option to see them online or show your significant other. I went in thinking it would be hard to narrow down my images and there would be too many to choose from. Out of 100 photos, I found 5 that I thought we acceptable enough to choose from and was able to choose my one image within 20 minutes of the start of the appointment. The lighting was horrible in 75% of the images either washing me out or making the images too dark. The next issue was details. There issues with the tying of my corset that was not fixed, hair placement, or stockings being uneven. Also be warned that you will have to pay extra to have simple photo-shopping done to fix a blemish or remove under eye puffiness or circles. I was then emailed my one selected image and told I would be able to print it. Plus, they never sent me a signed photo release so I could print my photo even though I emailed to ask for one. All said and done, I paid more than $400 for one digital image that I cannot even print. I have since had a much better experience with Intimate Expression Photography and they will even design albums, print color corrected high quality prints, and they include basic photo shop fixes at no extra charge so you will be completely happy. I was able to spend the same amount with the other studio and have way more than just a digital print! read more

This was my first boudoir and nude shoot so I was a little nervous because I had done a regular shoot and it didn't go so well. Surprisingly I have no problem in this type of setting! The staff was nice and the photographer was amazing! Very relaxing session. The photographer went over her allotted time with me because we were having way too much fun (and the person after me had rescheduled!) Yes, the photo package is very pricey BUT they offer a payment plan and you at least get one photo to hold you over until you are done with the payments!
