Great Holiday trip out to the USCGC Mohawk In town for the…read moreweek of Thanksgiving, I tried several local shops to see who had tips planned. Most said "no-trips" they were taking the holiday off ( Seems odd for a service driven business) Not H2O, Ant texted me back saying he had trips going out to the Mohawk Wednesday or Friday. 5 experienced divers (2 swimming the wreck and 3 spearfishing) all fit perfectly on this very comfortable 33 foot boat with plenty of seating and coolers. At pickup, Capt Ant had on-board larger steel NITROX (or Air) tanks and soft weights for everyone. He arrange for gear rentals the day before and even took the gear back for us after the holiday. Great Trip, Great Service. Fun guys. Best day diving in Florida I have ever had. P.S. On the wreck: 4 Goliath Grouper, 100+ Amber Jacks, Tuna and millions of little baitfish. If you have not been down to the Mohoawk in 2+ year it is completely different dive now.

Pete is a very accomplished and delightful manager of the operation and dive instructor. PROS: 1. Strong emphasis on safety for his divers, absolutely the highest order of instruction for Scuba. 2. Shows sincere interest in being helpful to new students who need an expert's guidance. 3. Offers continuing education for divers who wish to become more proficient, such as Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and many specialty classes - a big plus. 4. Selection of equipment for divers covers everything from a new mask to various sizes of Scuba tanks. 5. Air for filling tanks. The tanks are filled by Pete or a professional, especially critical for divers using "mixed gas" such as blends of nitrox. 6. Pete offers trips for divers especially to Florida's East coast where visibility in the open water greatly exceeds Gulf of Mexico visibility. Offers trips to the Caribbean, a big plus. VALUE: I'm happy to recommend Pete's as a perfect value as a starting off place to introduce Scuba to new divers as well as experienced divers looking for their next five trip, class or equipment. I've easily been in 15-20 different dive shops this year alone and this one is absolutely the worst! I truly understand that dive shops are going out of business as fast as they open. I don't appreciate being overpromised by a sub par shop that will charge you for looking through there window! I took a brand new out of the box steel tank in to be filled for the first time and it cost almost $200 the tank had to be visually inspected, then he said it had to be cleaned and the valve needed to be replaced because he didn't think it would seal so I had to purchase one of his! (Totally a joke) I took another tank in for a quick fill. I was told it couldn't be filled without having a visual inspection done I said no problem. Then I was told the "O" rings had to be replaced because they weren't suitable for nitrox (mind you I had this take filled sometimes as much as twice a month with being an issue. They tank has 14 month left before needed to be hydrod and the last visual was done June 2 of this year( I was told it had to be done again by LAW) I called the next day to see if the tank was done and was going a rash of lies and hung up on. I will to the store and demanded my tank and my money back $100 ( for a full) ! I was refunded all be me credit card fee which he says he's entitled to. ( If services weren't rendered I expected a full refund) I went to the car to get my phone to call 911 and he threw my Credit card and tank out the door! Cops came I was asked not to come back per the shop owner. Which I never will!!! And I left WATCH YOURSELF YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. I didn't pay attention to the other review and learned the hard way!

We were informed of upcoming sales prior to our equipment investments and they allowed us to try items before buying them to help us make decisions. They have an indoor pool and offered more than once for us to get in and check things out, which was very appreciated. There is a no cash return policy clearly stated at the register, which simply means that if something isn't right they will exchange the item or, if necessary, give store credit. We haven't needed to do either but are very comfortable with their policy. When considering training, decide if you would like to take the traditional group class or would like to pay a bit more for private training. My husband did his Open Water training here. Following that, we both took the Nitrox class with Charlie. We both agreed that Charlie explained information well, was thorough and kept the class moving forward at a good pace.

We were vacationing im FL and stopped in to ScubaQuest to see what they had in their shop. Brandon greeted us and was super helpful showing us the travel BCs they had and the pros and cons of each. We decided on the Oceanic Biolites due to their compact size and Brandon had both of the ones we wanted in stock. They were offering a couple of different package deals with BC, regulator, etc. Brandon went over each with us and explained the differences. We settled on the Aqualung due to the lifetime parts guarantee. The dive shop has a pool on site but it was being renovated. Brandon told us that typically customers can try out all gear in the pool before buying it. We didn't get to try out our new gear but Brandon assured us that if we had any issues, he'd help us out. We really liked this shop and would definitely go back in the future.
