When confronted with a deeply perplexing conundrum, I often resort to the wisdom offered by the great social commentators, Duran Duran. For example, when squeezing and scampering my way through Marienplatz and its throngs of tourists like a squirrel trying to cross Times Square, I sometimes catch a whiff of the edibles...and then I'm hungry. Like the wolf. A squirrel wolf, if you like. But who wants to pay €4 for a coffee and €7 for a sandwich? Get your Hände hoch if you said, "ICH NICHT!" because nor do I. Squirrel wolves often forget to go to the ATM, so we much prefer, say, €3 for a sandwich, and for that reason do I so love coming to this little place. Also, because their Bavarian accents are charming. And if you order one of their nifty salads to eat there, they will put it into a huge bowl with real utensils for you to eat at one of their standing tables. And because after 6PM, most everything is half off (excepting salads, beers, juices, and candy bars). So if your "Mouth is alive with juices like wine," I recommend you bring your hunger to the Wolf.

Dean and David, like all the great things in life, originates from Munich, founded in 2007 in Schellingstrasse it was a trendsetter for salad restaurants and has grown exponentially since then. My recent visit was the restaurant in Fünd Hofe near Marienplatz in the centre of Munich. In was a glorious sunny day and we sat in a small terrace opposite the restaurant. It is the perfect place for a relaxing lunch whilst enjoying a little bit of shopping. My girlfriend ordered for me, which was a nice surprise, as I was slowly making my way from the beautiful Hofgarten nearby. Essentially my order was a salad made up of strips of beef, peanuts, lettuce, basil, peppers, spring onions, carrots, with a balsamico syrup dressing. I think it was called the "Big Easy (warm)". It was delicious! And a hefty portion, which will satisfy the biggest of eaters! I think, whichever, Dean and David you choose to visit, you will not be disappointed with the choice of fresh salads, from plain meatless, to chicken or beef strips, and you can even throw some fish into the mix. I so wish the states would adopt using bottled tonic as they do in Europe, because at home, it is always flat. Interesting bar for us to go to, as they seem to cater to the LGBTQ, life style and there are signs posted about no cell phones or photos. It's open for lunch most days and less busy during the day. The menu is fairly varied with a big selection of cold and hot starters, fish, gyros and other greek specialities. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They have a selection of drinks including greek beer and, some greek wine. We shared a cold Mezze plate and it had a nice selection of dips, calamari salad and beans. All of these tasted quite nice and I really liked it. For main I had grilled calamari which was delicious although, it had a bit too much olive oil used. The flavour was great and I enjoyed the tender calamari. I also tasted the octopus and it was also amazingly tender. I would happily come back here again and try a few more dishes. Food is good and reasonably priced and the service is very friendly.
