I do not recommend going to Micheal. I booked a 4 hour appointment and he rushed it, getting it done way too fast. Micheal left my tattoo looking patchy, giving my tattoo an embarrassing amount of mistakes, making it look stupid. I am very unhappy with the result and i will not be going there again. read more

Omg!!! One of the worst customer service experiences of my entire life! Rude doesn't even begin to explain the utter shock when I stepped into the business after driving across town to specifically go to this store to buy my wife a nose ring piece of jewelry and was given the second degree about needing an appointment. We just wanted to buy a piece of jewelry. Then the lady states they were closed (door was open) and we explained the website stated they were open for another hour to which she talked over us rapidly that the website was incorrect. I never write a bad review about anyone but I felt it has to be done! Please take warning don't even bother! Thank you Almost Famous at the mall for taking good care of us. (No appt needed btw). read more

Annoyed I physically walked into store today with intent to purchase jewelry (cartilage) and was told I needed to make an appointment to do so. No customers in store at the time. I had 4 piercings here, two my daughter & two for me, 3 of the 4 got infected. I won't be returning. read more

I love this place! I got a tattoo about 3 months ago by Michael, and everyone there is so kind. The environment is super chill and I definitely recommend:) read more

Dead Rockstar - Tattoo Near Me - Fargo, North Dakota

Alex, their piercer, was very energetic and detailed for my nose piercing. She explained every part of the process in detail before hand and while she was doing the piercing, and answered all of my questions. It was also clear that she was good at making non-needle related small talk to help keep clients calm both before, during, and after the procedure. Shop was incredibly clean, has stricter COVID protocols than most places in North Dakota (a good thing!), and felt really supportive. Will definitely be coming back for future piercings and/or tattoos at this shop! read more

I'm not trying to be rude or ruin their day but I more than likely will not be coming back here. I recently bought jewelry there and I went to go get the other part of my earring on and I was not aware that I didn't pay for the jewelry in full even though the first time I went there and ordered the jewelry I paid $140. So I had to pay an extra $30 for it. That's whatever. When she put the jewelry on it was significantly tighter than what she had measured the first time. She then informed me if I didn't like the chain I would have to buy a new one. She wouldn't exchange the one I had just bought but said, "I can't give it to you for free obviously but I can put a discount on there because I messed up the measurements." What? So what would I do with this chain that does not work? I still liked how it looked on my ear but I was very tight so I figured I'd leave it for a while and see how it went. I just got it taken off today and my ear was extremely red, tender to the touch, and the chain had rubbed some skin off. Like I said I'm not trying to be rude everyone was very nice to me and she explained the pricing after I got the jewelry on but I wish she would have been more informative in the beginning. The jewelry is still overpriced for sure. read more

I came to dead rockstar with a few of my friends to all get piercings. I got my nose pierced and both of my friends got their triples here and had a great experience. Alex was super knowledgeable and very honest with her questions. She's very chill and laid back but also very thorough and clearly knows what she's doing. I was pretty nervous and she was great at making me feel better, she walks you through all the steps and explains what all of the tools do. It was a great experience and very fun! I highly recommend!! read more

Love this place! When I was in high school and college, anyone who had recently had a piercing done had come here- and that was 15 years ago! It's still the go to shop for piercings and tattoos in the area. I had my nose done 11 years ago with some college friends and went yesterday to get my daith pierced in hopes of easing some of my headache pain (and it's a cool piercing!). Chuck is fantastic and makes you feel so comfortable. He explains everything and is quick with the actual piercing. Dead Rockstar is extremely clean and professional and I will only go here for future piercings, even though I don't even live in Fargo. Highly recommended. read more

Amazing!! I had such great service! I called up told them I'm looking for a consult, they scheduled me in and it was so quick and easy. I showed up and we went over what I was looking for. I then sent her picture ideas of what I wanted Candi to bring to life. She did take a little longer than she said she would, but I was okay with that being that what she did come up with for a drawing for my tattoo was more than amazing. She put together exactly what I had envisioned when I was giving her ideas. GREAT artist and would 10/10 recommend her to anyone! I also have gotten 2 piercing from Chuck (GREAT guy) He is very very professional and walks you through all the steps that you would possibly need to know. He also helps you with any questions you may have and makes the piercing appointment fun and not so scary. The anticipation was at a minimum because we just talked casually like it was just another day which really helped me. At he end he gave me a bunch of pamphlets on everything I need to know in case I forget what he told me. I've had my cartilage done and just got my Daith done on National Piercing day! They all look awesome!! read more

This place seems like a great place to go for tattoos, peircings and even microblading. The artists all seem really nice but in reality it's all a hoax. My first step in the shop about 2 months ago, the shop was dead. There was one person in there getting a tattoo. My boyfriend was going in to get a cover-up tattoo so we started talking to the artist Blaine. The guy immediately takes him and is super excited that he gets to do this cover-up tattoo. But lo and behold this guy takes 4 HOURS just to do an outline. This tattoo isn't huge but it's not small either. So we pay him and we wait for our next appointment. The next appointment comes around and the guy tells him he needs to tap out because he's looking kinda pale. Mind you we had only been in the shop for an hour he barely did any shading on one piece of the tattoo. This guy is heavy handed and very slow moving on this tattoo, and to top it off the lines aren't even straight. So Blaine feels bad and he says just pay the 125 for the hour and will move the 60 deposit over for your next appointment. So we show up today for what is hopefully the last time. Blaine immediately pulls my boyfriend aside, and tells him that we are wasting his time and his money because we're taking so long to get this tattoo done due to last time my boyfriend was practically forced to tap out. Hes saying that he lost a lot of money because of it and that we don't tip him, which was a bunch of bullshit. So we walked right on out of that shop today, no tattoo finished, just got an outline and a shitty tattoo artist at dead rockstar. I've never been so appalled by someone's terrible customer service, especially when I'm paying you to do something for me. read more

I am giving a 1 only because there was a woman that helped us once buy a set of earrings. We scheduled an appointment for the following weekend for my daughter to get her earrings done. The piercer called 45 out from the appointment, I still don't know why, because she heard I was sick and said she was anxious about getting sick. I can absolutely understand her choice to refuse even if I can show negative Covid results and wear a mask, as that's her choice. However, when I called back and asked about our private infor, ie birth certificate, IDs, staff was rude. They did say they deleted while I was on the phone and then promptly hung up on me without a word. That's pretty important information, I'm not contagious, actually work in medical and wouldn't threaten someone's health (it's my asthma acting up), and it was like we were inconveniencing them. Wouldn't recommend. Plus, I don't know now how much I'd want someone with severe anxiety piercing my child with a staff with that my attitude. Take your patronage somewhere else. read more

Honestly, some of the best customer service I have received in Fargo. They make you feel very comfortable and will not push you into anything. Great place to go for tattoos and piercings! read more

Very impressed with Dead Rockstar! Josh there did some great work on my latest tattoo. Everyone there was very professional and things were very clean and comfortable. I will definitely be a repeat customer here. read more

My friend and I had driven in from Minot to explore the shops, restaurants, along with me getting 3 piercings (my septum along with my nipples). I had walked in with no appointment in the early afternoon on a Wednesday and as I expected there was almost zero waiting time! Chuck was the guy doing the piercings and he was the most professional piercer I could hope to ask for. He was incredibly courteous with making sure I was comfortable and thoroughly informed with what he was doing. Of course I chose to do some really painful piercing spots, but Chuck was such a pro they only hurt for a second. The only reason why I'm giving this shop 4 stars is because my septum piercing was not centered on my face enough for my liking along with it not being in a placement I'm 100% happy with. I would totally go back to Chuck to get it repierced once the hole heals if it wasn't for the 4 hour drive there. Hopefully sometime in the future I'll get it done again. read more

I went to the shop with getting my piercing changed but ended up getting a piercing. I was referred to dead rockstar by my piercer in Miami. As soon as I walk in I was helped by this this in the front (I didn't get her name) she was very honest and made me feel comfortable. Even when I asked her a question she did not know she told me straight up I don't know but I can find out for you. She's the reason why I ended up getting pierced:) Chuck changed my nipple piercings and did my tragus piercing. He made me feel comfortable and educated me about different body jewelry. Honestly I will be back and I recommend this shop. read more

I was quoted $125 per hour. I was there 1-1/4 hours which included filling out forms, paying, and getting tattooed. I was charged $205 which should have been $175 for 1-1/2 hrs so I was overcharged. I dropped my design off two days early for the artist to work on the color palette. This was not done when I arrived for my appointment; was told by the artist that she didn't have time to do that. I asked for the vine in my tattoo to be hunter green instead of black ink. Nope, can't do that. After the tattoo was done I asked for more color inside the flower instead of having skin showing, maybe add some red or orange. Nope, can't do that. I purchased a small after-care lotion. It was so dried up that when I went to use it, it squirted out the bottom of the tube, making it a one-time use only. I would NOT recommend going here and I will not return. read more

They are great and very helpful. Ask for Ellie if you want a tattoo she does a great job.

5/5, the people were all very nice and they have a really nice store! i would recommend going there for tattoos and piercings + they have microblading! read more

I'll start with saying that I didn't actually get a tattoo here (I was planning on it, but it didn't work out). My dad and I live out of town, and since I'm under 18, we had to drive out of state to Fargo so we could get matching tattoos. It was going to be a little man in the moon on our inner forearm. After communicating with the people at Dead Rockstar, we set up an appointment and drove 4 hours to get there. It was not until then that we found out they would not do the tattoo in the direction we wanted it. We wanted it to face us when we looked at our forearm, and they insisted that was upside down. The annoying part is that this could have easily been said over email or the phone. Also, their version of the tattoo we wanted looked nothing like the one we had in mind. We would just recommend everyone to always ask more questions than you think necessary so this doesn't happen to you! read more

I got my back dermals done there by Chuck as well as my grandma, he did AMAZING. The whole staff is super awesome, my friends got tattoed there and their work was beautiful. The entire place is VERY clean and sterile. I absolutely would recommend it to anyone looking for a tattoo or piercing. read more
