Oh come on, Fargo. Get with the yelping trend on this place. Before leaving Fargo, I wanted to get a final tattoo to mark my departure. I called a few other shops, and all of them said I could stop in to discuss my ideas. No problem! My idea was basic, and literally any decent artist could do it. However, most of them treated me like I was a nuisance. Whatever. It's not like I was a paying customer or anything. Finally, someone treated me with respect. The lady helped me by giving me Athena's email address to send her my ideas, so I payed my deposit and was on my way. The time came for my appointment. Since I hadn't met with Athena, I was instructed to come in a little early so she could consult with me and draw up my idea. She started by drawing my quill right onto my arm so I could see the placement. She then drew a quill in three different sizes so we could pick the perfect size. Athena was great about giving me her honest opinion, but still let me make the final decision. We finally agreed on the size, and she began. This definitely wasn't my first tattoo, but I apparently don't handle the wrist very well. I am embarrassed to admit this, but I got extremely light headed. Yep, that's right. I almost fainted. Pause for humiliating laughter. Athena repositioned me and was really great about the whole embarrassing situation. 5 hours later, and I was finished. I seriously cried when I saw it. I'm definitely scheduling an appointment with Athena next time I'm in Fargo. The prices are fair and everyone is really friendly. Called a day ahead of time to see if someone would help me take my cartilage piercing out (that had been done else where) and Willie was happy to let me stop by anytime. Came in today and he took me back right away. The whole store was immaculately kept and Willie was incredibly careful to make sure his hands were clean and what he was using was sterilized. He got my piercing out painlessly, which was GREAT, and made sure to clean up my ear. He even gave me options as to what I could do with the piercing in the future. Place is awful. Guy with the ugly forehead tat tried to talk me out of my tattoo, and then was a complete prick while giving it to me. Very disrespectful especially when I'm paying you. Not only does his forehead tattoo suck, so does his attitude. No people skills whatsoever. read more

I just got my nose pierced at Addictions. Prices are affordable plus they are a walk in parlo so I didn't have to schedule a appointment to get my nose pierced. Also, the procedure took less than 20 minutes so I didn't they were able to get the station prepped quickly so I didn't have to sit and wait in the waiting room. I absolutely enjoyed my experience getting my nose pierced with Carter. He could tell I was extremely nervous and said that's normal a lot of customers he interacts with are nervous about getting piercings. Plus Carter was very gentle while performing the procedure in order to make it least painful for me. He also did keep me distracted by explaining the nose piercing process/steps he was doing getting everything prepped for me so I know what to expect. Of course, he kept any conversation going so I don't focus on the pain. Be careful going here! My husband and I went to this shop to get matching tattoos for our 25th wedding anniversary. Because it's the oldest shop in Fargo. We spoke with an artist named Trent, This man was very creepy. He seemed uncomfortable and figity, which immediately put up a red flag for us as we have suffered through family with an addiction problem and this man acted just like someone on meth or crack cocaine. I don't know, but he was creepy and trying to be too friendly. He seemed Very Fake and Not Honest. We left and went to another tattoo shop in the area and found them very honest and friendly but Not overly friendly in a fake, let me take your money kind of way. They are nice, clean, and take a lot of time to make sure you are getting exactly what you want. If it's your first tattoo, they explain the process and give clear instructions for taking care of your ink. All of my tattoos are very detailed so I appreciate artists that have a light hand. The majority of the staff is helpful, friendly with customers and perform terrific and upscale work. I especially love Athena and Nate's style. Every tattoo that I have seen that has been done by either of them is wonderful. There is, however, one particular artist there that was so impersonal and rude while my sister was getting her tattoo done at the Fargo tattoo expo. This person acted as if it was a nuisance to move the placement of the stencil when asked, was very rude to myself and the other individuals that came with my sister, and angrily informed us that we were walking too hard or were messing up the work bc we were talking to my sister. Eventually we just left to walk around because we were tired of being griped at. I have honestly never been treated so poorly by someone that is supposed to not only be focused on giving someone a great tattoo, but also on exceptional customer service. read more

Stopped in at a couple places in Fargo to get some advice on several designs I have been wanting to get. Went in and Kat helped me out. She was very knowledgable and straight forward about the cost and design constraints of the piece I was looking to get and I loved her right away. Ended up making an appt for the following day for a simpler piece and a touch up on another one I had done in another state. Conversation was wonderful, she made the time pass quickly and I barely noticed the discomfort. Definitely will be going back specifically for this artist. read more
