Getting a return call is like shouting into the wind, even the neurologist office has remarked how hard it is to get a call back. Then when you get somebody on the phone the excuses on why no appointment has been made is ridiculous. I have been going to this center for going on 5years, the excuse of needing a pre-authorization is a lie. Pure and simple. I've spent so much time on the phone trying to explain this to the insurance/bookkeeping dept I should be getting a break on my bill for my time. In the mean time I'm hurting and time is ticking away so my orders are getting affected. I don't know how to even fix this, I call well in advance just to work the system.

Upon entering the lobby/patient check in, I was greeted and assisted promptly with check in. While holding the door at the entrance for a lady usibg a walker, I was called back by the nurse. She asked me my name and date of birth. She escorted me to the room and asked me a few questions while taking my blood pressure and checked my o2 level. She asked if I had any questions for her and as she walked out of the room, she said Dr. Echiverri would be in shortly. Upon entering the room, he introdiced himself and shook my hand. He asked me to explain why I was seeing him that day in my own words from beginng to end. I told him what my primary thinks it is. He wrote a few things down, explaining what each one was. He asked how quick my insurance was since he needed to order some special tests (eeg, ct and mri), to which I responded rather great. He reviewed my previous mri and explained some things to me while explaining what he is looking for with these new tests. He asked me to give him two days after all the testing was complete. Dr. Echiverri's nurse called me Thursday morning to tell me that Dr. Echiverri reviewed my tests and all looks normal and to keep an eye on my blood pressure and a few other things. My first visit with St. Vincent's Neurologist Dr. Echiverri was wonderful. He listened to my concerns, explained everything to me, was patient with all my questions, has a great attitude and is friendly and approachable.

After reading the negative review, I felt compelled to share my experience. From what I personally witnessed, the interaction was not as it has been portrayed. The employee was subjected to racist and abusive language, No employee should ever have to tolerate that kind of behavior while simply doing their job. It's disappointing to see someone criticize a business while leaving out their own conduct. Every workplace has a responsibility to provide a safe and respectful environment for both employees and patients, and I don't fault Heights Eyecare for supporting their staff in the face of abusive behavior. Very friendly, patient, and caring. I've been going for checkups for a couple years now, and recently needed a series of Mohs procedures. Dr. Maranda is very thorough, an expert at this particular procedure, and also smiling & pleasant when discussing your health. I feel very fortunate to be a patient here as I've seen this practice balloon w/ patients and become VERY busy. At some point I assume they're going to have a large backlog and new patients might not get in quickly. This practice was my first call when I needed care and therapy for myself. The practice has grown from our earlier time with them and I had to be worked into their schedule. I'm involved with my therapy presently and they continue to surprise me with innovative treatment created for my specific needs including wound manipulation which has been successful.
