We came into Malaga just for a day trip from Grenada. Ultimately we came into De Sancha because it was right next to our hotel. But after the meal, I couldn't have imagine ever passing this place up. The owner Ricardo was one of the friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. We started off with Sangria, because that is one of the staples drinks of Spain. Ricardo took his time with making it, even saying that it would take 10 minutes before being ready. All the fruit was fresh, hand cut, and it was by far and away the best Sangria we'd had in Spain. (Boozy too.) After the sangria, we had a few tapas with a tomato/vegetable Medley on top of toast, and it was a great compliment. But the Paella. Oh my gosh the Paella. Every bite had a little bit different in it, be it prawn/cod/shrimp/calamari, and the flavors melded so well together. The portion sizes were incredible. For 6 glasses of sangria, the tapas, and incredible paella, it was only 37 euro. This place is a hidden gem, and you're missing out on one of the treasures of Malaga if you don't come to de Sancha.

Waiter is very nice and good service! Food is tasty! We are two people together just order a portion of Paella (11euro for per person and minimum 2 people's order) and it is already satisfied portion for dinner. The waiter is very nice to stop us order more food, otherwise it is just a waste. Also, my boyfriend doesn't eat seafood, and the man just recommended us half chicken and half seafood which is also a very good combination. After the meals, the man even offered us two nice limon cellos!! Totally 3 drinks 1 Paella just for 29.50. The location is quite close to the beach area, the price is much better than the restaurant by the beach. 5 stars recommended!!

Menu for the day at a very reasonable price. Went with the Seafood Paella which was very good.

I just love this little gem for the ambiance, the service and of course the food. Forget the…read moretouristy restaurants of Calle Larios and MAKE a reservation at Meson Iberico The food is exceptional and delicious, real Spanish food, tapas and many other fish, meat, seafood choices. We started with Tortillitas de Camarones ( small shrimp tortillas) sorry we ate them to fast no pic. don't miss those. The boquerones (white Malaga anchovies in vinaigre and garlic ) ) very delicious. For main course we had the Octopus Galician Style, so very tender and tasty. My husband had the Flavored Grilled Suckling Lamb Kidneys. So many great choices. We will go back. They are closed on Sat and Sun.

Super packed on a Friday night at 11 pm. Seemed to be mostly locals, and we ended up snagging a bar…read moreseat in the back corner. We got: Pulpo en salpicon - More like a salad, with diced tomatoes and onions, and we only found like 2 pieces of octopus in the entire dish. Although ignoring the fact that we signed up for octopus, I liked the flavors and found it quite refreshing. Sardines - Good, fairly standard. Bacalao (cod) al pil pil - This came highly recommended by the friendly local at the neighboring table. It's a pretty large dish, coming with two sizeable pieces of cod. I wasn't a huge fan of the dish, but not because of the execution, but because it's not to my palette. But I could find no fault with the dish - this was perhaps one of the most tender cods I've ever had and served as an excellent vessel for the pil pil sauce. Pil pil sauce turned out to be more of a creamier (and salty) white sauce, and I don't tend to like those sauces - but if you do, this may be your jam. All in all, nothing we had that I found astounding but not a bad meal. Prices did seem higher than in other cities (€3 for an oyster) but not sure if that's Malaga or this restaurant. Note: they offer free profiteroles at the end, though you may have to ask for them if they don't give them to you.
