We went here with 5 of us and were far from convinced. The idea of the alternative use of the old Honig soup factory is great and we like initiatives like this. The atmosphere with all the old pipes, floors, silos and the open kitchen are gorgeous and funky but very cheap. The service is okay, nothing special and the choice of the menu isn't too bad.
However the food is bland, fish a bit dry, the portions are ridiculously overpriced and small so not too big of an eater needs an approx €8 starter and ditto desert and a main that runs around €20 in order not to leave hungry in a place with the cheapest rent and decor in this city where half the price is standard for this kind of food. Wines are highly overpriced, too. Maybe the owner didn't realize but this is NYC, but NYmegen, and the food isn't high end either.
Nice view if one's lucky of the bridges and the water. Great use however of the wines and beers written on old food silos, but not too practical to read...
Disappointed and won't give it a second try anymore! read more
