Experienced sensitivity in multiple fillings that I had done there but staff were happy to work on the fillings and correct the issues.

NOT FOR KIDS!! I…read morechose this dental office based off of the reviews and marketing as a child-friendly dentist- my 5 year old required fillings and it was going to be his first experience with this...but this was not the case. I spoke with them while booking as was reassured they would be able to care for him. After being charged for an additional consult fee, the appointments for fillings were booked....at the first one, the doctor did not explain what was happening, gave him no warning that a needle would be part of the process so after the first needle he was in tears and very upset and naturally distrustful of her. After this 'scene' played out we were told gas was an option to help soothe him, but not in this appointment as the dentist was pregnant. So my son endured a needle and a night of freezing for no reason because they didn't book a dentist who could administer all possible options for us. I called the clinic to reschedule and discuss the gas option and we were told he was being "referred" to Smile Town, which meant they were not going to do anything or confirm with us, if I hadn't had called I wouldn't even have known I was to call Smile Town. They were not going to see him again. The time spent booking, and going back and forth means over a month has gone by and cavities that require immediate care are still left untreated. And we had to pay a consultation fee so we could basically be inconvenienced and our son be traumatized by his fist dental work experience which was my biggest concern and why I chose them originally. So be warned - not for kids!!

This is a nice team of people who do good work..... they even take ODSP benefits, (which I'm on,…read moreadmittedly, for psychological issues)....... And I learned, woe befall anyone who shows their extenuating dysregulation or stress in front of these people. They can't cope. I was triggered into an episode one day going into their office, but sadly, for the safety of all persons concerned fell upon my training and apologized, I needed to depart quickly so I could work out the triggered issues outside, on my own, and then go home. It was about covering our shoes with blue disposable booties, in the wintertime, so their office didn't get sludgy. I stood still for a moment to breath. Because the day before I had been in the hospital with a relative, as I was all gowned up, gloved and wearing booties, and they took their last pill to say goodbye from COVID. My psychological pathology is tremendously affected mood shift and emotional dysregulation. I got as far as the mat inside the inner door, without booties on, and the office manager leapt from her desk to her doorway, escalating immediately to big cheese authoritarian, controlling, inexceptional, and condescending. Trigger. BIG Trigger and I don't think I'd be alone on that. I've had a very great deal of treatment for my challenges and there are all kinds of triggers. Blue Booties? Escalating authoritarian office managers? Nowadays, if I Trigger? I Freeze. Breathe deep 4 or 5x and leave. It's the right thing to do for me and others. It suppresses the immediate gut response to something very benign. Odd perhaps. But harmless. The exit saves anyone from seeing me, again rendering me harmless. The dentist lost the billing and yeah I feel bad, but it was far better that I left and spared them all seeing what I was going to experience. I've called back for another appointment, explained what happened, and the receptionist seemed very sympathetic. She spoke to a manager ( I guess the same one ) who instructed her to come back to the phone and tell me "we are booked for the foreseeable future, here, let me give you a number for another dentist". Truly the most transparent, bulls**t response ever. A capital letters, bold, italic and bold-faced lie. Clearly that manager is everything I said and more. I can't wait to tell my supports this story.
