At De Learning Compass, we help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through personalized learning and small group classes. Our specialties include reading, math, executive functioning coaching, social-emotional learning classes, social skills, and enrichment language classes in Spanish and French. Each class is kept small (no more than six students) to ensure every child gets the attention they need. History
Established in 2022.
De Learning Compass was created by experienced educators and specialists who believe every child deserves personalized support in academics, social-emotional learning, and overall development. All of our coaches hold a bachelor’s degree, and many are currently pursuing master’s degrees in education, psychology, and related fields — ensuring our programs are grounded in research and best practices. We place a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning and students’ well-being. We specialize in supporting the neurodivergent community, including children with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, gifted learners, and students with social-emotional challenges such as anxiety and low motivation. Our small group classes provide each student with the individualized attention they need to thrive. We’re proud to serve Whittier and the surrounding areas, helping students and families grow together every day!
Meet the Business Owner: Sandra D.
As the owner of De Learning Compass, I bring over 30 years of experience as both a teacher and a school psychologist. I was inspired to open this center because I’ve seen firsthand how much children benefit from small group learning, caring coaches, and research-based support that meets each child’s unique needs. My passion is helping kids — especially those who are neurodivergent — build confidence, strengthen their social-emotional skills, and feel capable and excited to learn. I wanted to create a place where families feel understood and every child can thrive. Seeing our students grow academically and emotionally every day is truly the most rewarding part of what I do.
