I came here with a few friends to try some Surinamese food in Amsterdam, as I heard it is one of…read morethe most well integrated cuisines in the Netherlands. Having never had it before, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many different parts of Asia seemed to influence this cuisine, especially given that Suriname is a South American country! There is satay, nasi goreng, goat curry, etc - stuff inspired from all over Asia but slightly different than you would get in their original countries. I ordered the chicken Longtong which is an Indonesian dish and a specialty of this place. It was OUTSTANDING and really filled me up too. I did not expect that especially given how nice and cheap it was - I had even ordered an extra side of Satay skewers which I then had to share. Service is nice and quick especially since you mostly just interact at the back stand to order, and then sit down. It was a bit crowded inside but the vibe is nice and we were able to get a table without waiting too much. One minor note is that our cards were not accepted here (visa, Mastercard), so make sure you bring cash! They did a good job of communicating this before we ordered so we did not have to waste too much time, and luckily we had just enough cash anyway. Overall, very solid recommendation for Amsterdam! Surinamese food is not to be missed.

I did not expect Amsterdam is going to be the best seafood restaurant I found . I went to this seafood restaurant during Covid. I saw there was a huge seafood platter I wanted to order but it was from 2 people. So I didn't order it. This time, I went to the restaurant without a making reservation and I walked in then the waiter and the waitress were so nice to let me dine in. "Be aware that things changed after Covid. Please make a reservation if you are going after 8 PM. " The inside restaurant was so beautiful I sat down and see all these beautiful matching tablecloth dishes napkins everything was so perfect. There was a menu for fresh oysters. They were from 5-6 euros each so I did not order it. ( ordering the seafood platter will includes oysters great deals!) I had a glass of white beer which was served in a matching glass. The chef brought the lobster shooter to start and corn moose with shrimp on the bottom. It was very fancy French style. I had Bouillabaisse it was unbelievable. I tasted lobster bisque and fish pencil clams other seafood were inside. I was getting full already then my main course came which was that gigantic seafood platter. I lost my word!!! It was the best of the far best. Service was wonderful everybody speaks English. I really enjoyed coming here again. I didn't expect I will find the best seafood restaurant in Holland.

The menu items were inexpensive which my party were happy about, but when we made our selections it took so long for the food to come. I ordered a chicken meal with rice, and the chicken had bones in it that I almost choked on- it didn't say it ok the menu-guess I wasn't expecting it. The rice tasted okay but I was turned off from eating once my sister found a long black hair in her food. Once there's hair in food my stomach turns and I don't eat anymore. When my sister complained about the hair- the staff were staring at her like they didn't understand why she was upset- and were making it seem like she threw the hair in there. We also ordered some bread with our meal which never came and had to be sure it was taken off our check.
