Our family paid Rosedale Cemetery a total of $3700 to have a bronze ground-plaque set and "the…read moreopening of the grave" for the 12" x 12" x 12" box of our sons ashes to be placed above his grandparents. More than $900 is allotted for the hole to be dug. Our son passed away October 27th, 2023 and we would like to bury his ashes, this coming October 27th, which happens to fall on a Sunday. When I called the office to arrange for a hole to be dug to accommodate a box of 12" x 12" x 12", for that Sunday, we were advised that there would be an additional charge of $600 (making a total of $1600 to have a hole dug to accommodate a 12" x 12" x 12" box on a Sunday, rather than Monday-Friday. When I asked to have the hole dug on that Friday, being present to cover the opening (of 12" x 12") with a tarp and some rocks to hold it in place, I was told that wouldn't be feasible either. We are going to visit the owner - Mr. Andrew Rosen and the office manager, Sherrie - to ask why this egregious and greedy opportunism? Two stars is generous for a place that takes advantage of people's heartache. If it were not for my husband's parents and uncle already buried there, there would be absolutely no way we would use their despicable services.

Went to a funeral service there today. I was not impressed. When a worker brought over a…read morewheelbarrow so that people could throw dirt on the casket, it was an old dirty thing like you'd find on any work site, with 2 shovels from the same work site. Since they cover the chairs and the hole up with the tacky green covering, couldn't they have done the same thing with the wheelbarrow? How about 2 decent shovels too? Politicians always have shiny ones when they break ground on a new building so why can't a cemetery have them? With the prices that they charge, you'd think it was a no-brainer. Also, when they were lowering the casket, it apparently wasn't centered in the hole, so workers had to jiggle and shift the cradle while the family was standing there; very unprofessional. Wasn't impressed with the grounds, service, or workers.
