Blane and Tommy always spend time with my mom when she is there, and I know my mom is safe when they are there. They have been amazing since day one while we are grieving our loss of our father/husband. I went to visit his grave and noticed that it was unmarked, and apparently had been for the past 12 years. Brent Peeples and the team at Riverside were great. They helped me confirm the burial location and helped me obtain a military headstone for my grandfather who served as a Corporal in the Marines in Korea. I find peace in knowing that there is now a physical marker in honor of my grandfather, and I enjoy swinging by to visit his marker and remember him.

The attendants were very accommodating and helpful. They offer two "cafe" rooms with coffee, tea and water. There are tables in the cafe's to accommodate food. Only reason for the 4 star is that the family was told they were the only funeral that morning/day (as it was planned to be a BIG funeral) but the funeral home added another funeral before the big one. We then had to wait for the second room to be available/cleaned and parking was a nightmare. They do have a parking lot, but when you have two funerals booked around the same time, it fills up very quickly.

For some reason I felt more at peace when I saw the Life Celebration sign. When the day came that William did pass, I called the John Givnish Life Celebration location to make the necessary arrangements. Again, in the midst of all my grief I felt more at peace again. The obituary that Karen Lamb wrote (the funeral director) was perfect and the funeral service that was held the following day at Washington crossing national cemetery was beautiful. When we arrived at the cemetery they did a tribute to my father for serving in WW2 and I was presented with the American flag. What an honor for my Father. May he rest in peace. I know we are under restrictions due to the covid 19 virus so I feel I need to let that weigh in here but I still truly feel that this was some of the most disrespectful and insensitive things I have witnessed . I have never seen the casket lowered or the vault closed . I watched the funeral director complain and talk down to our party of 9 people that were allowed to be there and I also watched her leave as soon as she possibly could . I know that it shows this as a family run business but i know that is no longer the fact and I also can say that these people have a lot to learn as far as respect and dignity go . My mother died at my home unexpectedly while I was traveling on business and unfortunately Mays picked up her body from my house the evening that it happened. I immediately called them at 9 am the next morning because I wanted to see her, (she died in my house while I was not there), and they were EXTREMELY rude and told me that it would be at least 2 days before I could see her because 'they had funerals' the next 2 days. They also referred to her as 'a case'....not your loved one, or even saying 'her body'. I was COMPLETELY taken aback that a funeral home that has multiple locations was not able to accommodate a quick viewing for me and my family members! ADND the person that I spoke to was EXTREMELY RUDE AND talked to me like I was from around the way....using ghetto slang! I was completely enraged and told them to NOT TOUCH my mom....I would have another funeral home come and get her immediately and have her taken to a funeral home that could accomodate us. Mays then told me that it would be a $500 charge for her overnight stay at their funeral home....$500 for her being with them for less than 24 hours...just no empathy or compassion at all! My neighbor said that Mays reputation is so bad that she would rather be left on the side of the road than to have them handle her burial.....and I TOTALLY AGREE! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND MAYS....But I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND GIVNISH FUNERAL HOME on Route 130! A TOTALLY different experience! They know how to handle people during a time of grief! STAY AWAY FROM MAYS!

I wanted to personally thank the staff at Holy Cross Cemetery for the excellent service and…read moreassistance I received during my visit to the cemetery.  I wanted to specifically mention John McIntyre and one of the groundskeepers (I was not able to obtain his name, but he was very helpful as well).  We do not often hear the compliments and praise for the work we do, and I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that your/their hard work is noticed and appreciated.  I was able to locate the graves of both sets of grandparents at Holy Cross Cemetery with their assistance, placed flowers on their graves and tidied/cleaned up the area around the graves - although, not much was needed - just some trimming and cleaning but I found the grounds to be well maintained and the staff very helpful.  One suggestion I would make it to repaint the numbers/letters on the small stones that denote the sections and repaint/refresh the street/road signs for easier use.  I appreciate your dedication to those of us that want to remember, visit and honor our families at Holy Cross Cemetery. I couldn't find the grave the last time I made a visit. However there was a stone down and broken. It may have been on top of our loved ones grave. I have called, e-mailed with no return call or e-mail. I'm trying to find who the CEO of the cemetery is so I can report John. Why is it so hard to look up the Section and Lot Number for me? This is bad business practice. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau.
