Seems blood donor services are forever lamenting they can't get enough donors. Or supply of Type O…read moreis running low. Now donation is "by appointment only". I would understand if it was something like a community drive hosted in honor of a particular patient, & these generally take place in venues like churches. However, it isn't as if donors are present by the dozen in the donation center in Worcester, and they reject those without an appointment. Fine. Just don't make an impassioned plea to je that supplies are running low & nobody will come in to donate. Seems to me Governor Baker spent months giving the middle finger to small businesses in particular. Now some are content to give it to themselves through very restrictive terms of business.

I don't usually leave reviews, but everyone was so nice that I feel like I need to get the word out. I had never donated platelets before (only whole blood) and toward the end started feeling really woozy and nauseous. The staff were so quick, responsive, and sweet about helping me feel better. They were also very attentive throughout the whole process, making sure I was doing okay and getting me blankets when I got cold, and making sure I stayed for a little while after so that it would be safe for me to drive home. They also have Netflix set up on individual TVs (with headphones) for people who are donating platelets, which was great since the process takes a while. Literally every employee I encountered was so friendly and kind. Even though the donation itself felt kind of crappy in my case, I will be happy to go back and do it again knowing I am in such great hands!

I went to Sewing Elements for a first lesson today. I have not sewed in 30 years and that was a…read morevery brief stint. I also sewed in Middle School during Home Economics classes. In any event, I have had a desire to be a little more crafty. I can not find the exact shade of yellow I am looking for in a curtain kitchen. I've decided that I might just need to make my own! My first lesson was good. Kathy is very patient and affirming. I did not get frustrated and even walked away having made a lovely blue coaster, which I will keep in my office. I am going to give it a shot and have reserved four classes. I will go purchase my fabric tomorrow. Wish me luck! Kathy is passionate about sewing, knitting, crocheting. At some point, she was giving way too much information, my eyes literally glazed over. Don't be afraid to say, this is over my head and I am not quite there yet. She'll tone it down. This is my hope, which I why I have given four stars and not five. This happened a few times....I'll keep you posted.
