He's earned a special treat for the awards in school. We bought the tickets for a day pass. Luckily I had cash because the booth was not accepting any other form of payment. Everything was copacetic until the return trip and it brought back memories when I rode the bus in the greater Los Angeles area. Waaaay back, when it was the RTD (now the MTA). My friends & I called it Rough, Tough & Dirty because.....it was. Milo was oblivious to the cab surroundings, just looking out & enjoying the ride. All the while I was not breathing through my nose, trying not to touch anything. Folks, I felt like I needed a nice, long cleansing/disinfecting shower thereafter. Thankfully we were not accosted. Our journey lasted about a good 10-12 minutes. As long as Milo was a happy camper, our journey was complete. The wait for each way didn't take more than 10 minutes in total.

Fortunately these days we have a decent mass transit system in the Dallas area and most of the big metro areas like Houston. However, Texas is a car culture on steroids and I'll admit I don't use mass transit that often. Usually when I do it's to travel to the State Fair close to downtown(highly recommended). I can say from experience after riding the system many times, it works, I'm glad we have it and hope its expansion continues. Until then, ill continue using Parker Station to hop on the train.

The last train from downtown to here leaves at 12:29am, so be sure to make it if you're parked down here. Parking is free. We felt safe leaving our car here while we went downtown to a concert. Maybe 25 min to Victory station? I wasn't timing it. But it wasn't bad at all. They have a kiosk which is super way to use, and it accepts credit card. It prints you passes right there and only takes a minute. Be sure to collect your tickets prior to the train coming. This stop is well lit and has plenty of parking. It also has busses that run to the airport. Even better, the prices have recently dropped making it a more cost effective option. If you are seeing a game or show at the AAC, there is no better way to get there. Also your pass will allow you to ride on the light rails, if the main stops aren't close enough to your destination.
