But thankfully, there's a nice little cafeteria with affordable prices, okay for lunch or snacks. We'll definitely be back tomorrow! It's a great spot both for families with kids and for adults without children. There are slides, inflatable toys, and even an Olympic-size pool. There are plenty of lifeguards around, and one big plus for me: they play music! It really lifts the mood. We loved it!

First, I really think it is tacky on their part to charge a separate $4 fee for the obstacle course which requires a wristband. Especially given that you then have to queue up just for a turn. While it is a cool feature it is annoying that you have to oay an entrance fee then this additional fee. I suggest they Just up the fee a couple of bucks and let anyone use it. Gripe number two, the lifeguards. Bros... chillll the F out! While I admire and respect their commitment to safety, they are a bit overzealous in regards to their enforcement of the rules. I wonder if because there are so many of them that they need to find any little thing to jump on to but the vigor that they use to address even the most minor violation such as kids running or hanging on the swim lines is so out of proportion that it is a bit absurd. I can't help but mess with them a little bit just out of spite. Aside from the issues mentioned it is a pretty cool place with a variety of options (waterside and kiddie area) that make for a fun way to beat the heat.

The teachers here are amazing! My middle schooler even had a teacher from his old public school, which was super helpful since he planed to go back to public high school later. This kept him on track (and even ahead) with what he needed to know. Something that I love is that the kids are outside ALL THE TIME! They have class outside, eat lunch outside, and do pretty much everything outside unless the weather is really bad. In summer, they sit under shady trees with nice breezes. In winter, they bundle up with jackets and blankets near space heaters. It reminds me of how European kids spend way more time outdoors instead of being stuck inside all day. My kids have learned tons and made great friends here. If you've read the book "Wild and Free," this school follows that idea perfectly. Kids learn, play, and grow at their own speed. Even if your kids go to regular school, Wild Roots has awesome summer camps that cost less than a babysitter! The kids learn cool stuff while having fun outside. I tell everyone looking for homeschool help around Folsom to check out Wild Roots. It's been such a great place for my family!

They were welcoming, patient, knowledgeable, and made every student feel included. Our students had an incredible opportunity to learn about ranch and farm life, tractors, horses, foals, farm animals, hay, and the daily responsibilities of caring for a ranch. The hands-on experiences were the highlight of the day. Students were able to groom horses, interact with animals, ask questions, and gain a real appreciation for agriculture and animal care. Terry and his team kept the students engaged from beginning to end. What made this experience even more special was Terry Howard's generosity. Shadow Glen donated approximately three hours of their time at no charge to educate three classes of Center Joint Unified School District students. That level of community support is truly appreciated. Our students are still talking about the trip, and the adults had just as much fun as the kids. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

They teach students music, poetry slam, public speaking, and many more. Not only do they teach STEM and Spanish classes, they also do fun activities like Family school dances where my whole family went and danced together with the other family, teachers and staff. I absolutely love the community aspect of this school. Let's talk about security. This school enforces strict rules regarding pick up and drop offs. A key pad must be entered in order to get in. Don't you want your loved ones to be safe and secure all day? Some bonus points are: Folsom Prep offers fun activities for after school programs, such as cooking and ninja classes. My daughter absolutely loves summer camp here as well. Kona ice has frequently stopped by over the last couple of years during summer camp. Currently my daughter is taking the ninja class on Fridays. They offer several classes based on age. One of the limitations they have is gymnastics. Boys can join gymnastics if they are under four (? We currently have our daughter enrolled in tag, and most of the teachers are pretty good. It gets a bit tricky when you have other kids in the same class who are disruptive and the teacher doesn't do much to navigate to the class back. If! You are a parent that likes to come early before the class, it might be a bit tricky getting in since the other classes are just getting out. With that, the best area to park is in the back. There's even a back door there you can enter through. If you miss a class or are planning to miss a class, you just have to make sure to notify them via website two hours prior to the class so that you can get a make up for the class for next time, so make sure you grab all of the class schedules located in the check-in desk on the wall because you can choose any make up class to try! Overall, it's a good all in one place to try.

All of the directors and teachers know every kid's name, and there is genuine joy from the staff every time a child walks through the front door. They send us daily updates on how my daughter is doing, what she did throughout the day (AMAZING and DYNAMIC curriculum!) what she ate, and even when she went to the bathroom (as a parent, you need to know!) from day one my husband and I have always felt that our daughter was safe and incredibly well loved and cared for by the teachers and directors.
