We hired Randy for a large remodel project. Initially he presented himself very professionally and…read moredisplayed a lot of confidence. He gave us a good price but it became very clear he didn't know what he was doing. Initially he said that he had a crew and could have it done in a week. 18 days later he did not finish. Lied directly to my face multiple times. He came and picked up his tools as I was working on correcting a lot of his mistakes. I asked him if he was going to finish the job and he said yes. But proceeded to pack up all his tools and block my phone number. I was very helpful along the way too and he was using half my tools and material so there's no reason that I'm at fault for him quitting. He simply just does not know what he's doing and could not get the help he claimed to have when we signed a contract. He stated he had a plumbing and electrical license, but I heard so many lies from him I don't know if that's true. He said multiple times he was going to come as early as he can 7:00-8:00am. And every day that he was working he wouldn't show up until 12:00-1:00. Halfway through the job he had an electrician come over and quote the electrical work. After receiving a quote from the electrician for $2700 Randy told my wife that we would have to talk about price because of the electrical quote. So I explained to him that we signed a contract for $8,000 and that is what we will pay for the job to be complete. He said okay the job is just going to take a little longer. Yeah because he's not an electrician. At one point during the job he asked me an electrical question. He kept tripping a breaker and asked me why? I looked at his switch he had the neutral on the top and the hot on the bottom. Direct short tripping the breaker and he seemed to not even understand it once I showed how to wire it properly. Also he left multiple junction boxes in our ceiling with hot wires even though he said it was against code. The electrician said you have to use the proper splice kit. And I had to take a piece of drywall down that he installed absolutely terribly and found a hot wire just wire nutted in the wall. See pictures below. Don't even get me started on drywall. He had someone helping him do the drywall who became unavailable due to a family death but I would think that Randy who said he can do the job knows how to drywall right? Wrong, worst tape and mud job I've ever seen. I'll be sanding for a week. And the lack of skill with cutting drywall properly was awful. As far as plumbing; also terrible. The knowledge he lied about having initially showed immediately. I had to explain to him how everything needed to be or he didn't get it. He didn't know how to stub out water lines. He also didn't even know what a mixing valve was for a shower. You bring the hot and cold to it and then one line up for your shower head. He was about to "stub out" the hot and cold and leave no shower head (nipple) extended through the drywall. It's a shower it needs a shower head! Basic plumbing that Randy does not understand. I am posting this so hopefully you do not become victim to Randy's lies and thievery. I had about $100 or more in pex water lines material that he stole from my house. I said he could use what he needed not take it with him when he decides to quit because he never knew what he was doing. He quoted $8,000 for the job I paid him $7800. He had at least 3-4 days of work left. Do not pay a deposit, do not pay for "supplies". Don't pay this dude a dime until the jobs done. Better yet don't ever hire him for anything ever. See all the photos below of terrible work. And in case I hadn't made myself clear- never do business with this company. I will be calling my bank to mark all transactions as fraud and will be calling the better business bureau and the state department to file a complaint. Randy don't bother responding. Nothing you say or do can fix any of this. You quit man, and you lied to my face and I told you I didn't have the time to do this job.
