While seeing Dr. Banks for the guard, I asked him about a complicated dental issue I have that four other dentists and an endodontist I had previously consulted with could not help me. Dr. Banks listened attentively to my story and requested me to send him my latest x-rays to review. He discussed my situation with an endodontist who I will be seeing for a consult after my eye surgery. I was extremely impressed with his sincere interest in my case especially since it was outside the scope of my appointment with him which was to only make me an occlusal guard. Dr. Banks is the epitome of an amazing, professional dentist. He is knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and kind. Besides putting in all of this extra effort to help me with an issue that was outside the purview of my visit, he also made me two occlusal mouth guards for my upcoming surgery and only charged me for one. Capital Cosmetic Dentistry is beautiful, clean, and a modern practice full of positive energy. Katie, Dr. Banks' Patient Coordinator, is always pleasant, helpful, and polite. She is understanding and does everything she can to accommodate a client's schedule. What should have been a standard preventive cleaning turned into a painful and unnecessarily aggressive experience. During the procedure, there was significant pain and excessive bleeding, far beyond what is normal for a routine cleaning. Even more concerning, one of the fillings in my molar was pulled out during the cleaning, something that has never happened to me in any prior dental visit. At no point was there a clear explanation for the level of force being used, nor was my discomfort adequately addressed during the appointment. A routine dental cleaning should not result in pain, heavy bleeding, or damage to existing dental work. I have had many cleanings over the years, and this was by far the most uncomfortable and poorly handled experience. Based on what happened, I genuinely don't understand how this practice maintains such high ratings. Patients should not be expected to accept this level of care as normal. I would not return or recommend this office based on my experience.

When I advised I was leaving -- and had to remind three times -- no one called to ask why I was doing do. This practice is unfortunately overpriced. I had paid much more because of Dr Deutsch's high quality care, but $2500 for one crown (compared to $1500 in the practice I now use) could not be justified with his replacement.

Then had the audacity, to ask when could they could schedule me for my cleaning treatment!?! Please don't fall victim to the "fast talking Dr and cleaning technicians". I've never been so annoyed in my life. I was so upset I never came back and wrote the previous review only to have someone from the clinic claim that I'm not even in their patient system. Really convenient. Fast forward more time - I receive an email reminder for an upcoming appointment and it says that I cannot email for cancelation and must call in. I called and they are closed on a Friday at 3pm. I did not make this appointment but clearly I'm in their system somewhere. This is ridiculous. I left a voicemail when prompted on the phone to state that I did not schedule this appointment and want it canceled. If I get charged for this, I'll be sure to challenge and escalate this.
