In early 2025 I decided I wanted to build a 30'x32' shop at my house for my own use. I got bids from 5 different contractors and I decided on Spane for three main reasons: First, in my initial and subsequent meetings with Michelle, their designer and estimator, I learned she was very knowledgeable, personable, and very easy to work with. She took me through the entire design/build process from the beginning to the end, cheerfully answered my questions and put up with me changing my mind several times during the process. Because of her thoroughness, there were no surprises from start to finish. She made it easy. Second, Spane's bid came in the lowest, but I thought it was reasonable as I had done my own estimate of materials and labor based on current costs. (Unlike some of these Contractors around here who jack their bids up to try to make a years profit from a 2 month project...) Third, and most important, over the years I had seen for myself the quality of their work and at the end of my build, my new shop is exactly what I expected and exactly what I wanted. It's a fairly big home, so not a small project either!
