TERRIBLE service. Food did not taste like Louisiana food. They trick you on IG with the pictures. Prices are higher than online. Racist and Rude. TERRIBLE FOOD I told cashier that I'm from Louisiana and excited to try the food. I asked if I can have a menu and look it over. She said no, you can order here first and then sit down. I said I saw ya'll on instagram and recently your place had a menu I can view rather than the tv screen (I forgot my glasses). She said fine Every item cost more than their most recent menu online but its fine. Me and my fiance saw there was still no line so went back to cashier at 2:00pm. I guess we had beat the lunch crowd we thought....since no line and only one table of people finishing their meal. We told her we want to dine in. I ordered red beans and rice- they were out of that. I ordered swamp water drink- they were out of it. I ordered Chicken sandwhich- they were out of it. I then ordered grits with lobster and shrimp-they were out of that. They cashier started laughing. I laughed a little to be polite. Next I tried to order a shrimp po boy with fries- with hot sauce on the side, a side order of cabbage, a strawberry lemonade, a glass of ice water, and shrimp and grits for my fiance. I asked can I go ahead and get my drink and she said in a couple of minutes . The chef walked around to where we were standing- looked us up and down, then went back into the kitchen. We sat down around 2:03 to wait for our drinks. She wouldnt bring them. About 15 minutes later- a crowd began to come in. There was a large group that sat beside us to wait. The chef placed our food under food shelf. The cashier turned around and looked at it and then us, then began taking more orders. She took about 20 peoples orders Then over 45 minutes later the chef came around and looked at the food that was stacking and went to turn around. A guy in the line (doing a pick up I assume) stepped out of the line to ask him for help. He begrudgingly obliged. Then decided to bag up a few more orders. We thought they called my fiances name. We went up to the counter and the chef handed Dale two black bags. We sat down and figured they give all the food as to go. When we opened the bags it was a different order. We went back to the counter and the chef was up there calling a different name. We gave the chef the food and he said it belonged to a LaDelle. The table that arrived 20 minutes after us. (our food was back there but hadnt called it out.) So the chef handed Dale our cold food and gave Dale the other tables food to bring it to them. Dale asked for our drinks and the chef said the cashier will get it in a minute. The music was loud so I didnt hear the interaction properly so I said sorry to the table beside us- that its rare that there are two "Dales". Two large women began yelling at me. They said i need to listen better and that their table name was LaDelle and then someone from the table quipped that "that white b***h better not have touched my chicken fingers!" I was too thirsty to eat my full meal but i did try a cajun fry... it was soggy. I asked my fiance to ask for our drinks again so Dale asked the cashier to give us our drinks and she said in a minute. Then another group of 20 people came in. Dale sat down and ate his cold food. The shrimp and grits were terrible, tasting like mashed potatoes. I did try a bite. They were not made right. I waited for my drink. After more people's order got taken. Dale got up to ask for our drinks and throw away his to go bowl from our dine in food that he finished. The cashier told him in a minute. Dale wouldnt leave so the cashier got pissed at him. She gave Mr. Ladelle his drink. Then she wouldnt say anything and gave Dale a dirty look. She gave him one of the drinks- the strawberry lemonade, then turned her back to him.. He asked for the second drink- the cup of water with ice. Saying nothing, she got a bottled water from cooler and set it on counter. My cabbage to go bowl was only filled 1/5th of the bowl even though it was a $4 side. I ate it in just like 5 bites. It was pretty good though. The po boy was bad. It was missing the side of sauce. The fried shrimp had no spices in the batter like a real shrimp po boy. The pickles were not dill, but were the bread and butter style. Which is gross. The roll wasnt cut in half properly so it was uneven. Fries were yucky. By the time we were about to leave there had been like 40 people in the line that the cashier had taken orders from. There was no waitress. There weren't enough tables. People were giving me hostile looks. Normally i don't notice race, but i felt like i heard someone say something about my race again. As there were all African Americans and Im white. That made me feel that people were mad that i took the table up for so long. My food was nasty anyway, so I didnt even eat half and got up- threw it away and left
Second time partaking. First time, my daughter brought it back to her house and I tore up the gumbo taco. Was so mad that I had an entire order, three tacos, and couldn't finish them due to needing to catch my flight. Hella good This time, my bestie and I ordered online for pickup. Online says ready at 3. Let's arrive at 315. No line Not too many patrons Well... order not ready. "We will call you when it's ready" Ok It's now 338; it's a line. And we have not received our order. Now we are forced to start to think, what is taking so long?!?! That's when we begin to notice that, everyone is wearing gloves but touching everything and never changing them. Let's do that please especially when everyone is watching. Also, let's get some hairnets on darlings. Now at 345, a patron that was in line, gets his name called. It's confusing on how his order is ready and ours is not. Now we ask, "when will our order be ready "? And that's when these two bags that were sitting on the counter for hella long, was given to us. Our name would've never been called. We now head home to eat with the fam. We ordered 2 orders of gumbo tacos, bourbon street fries, soul rolls sampler and the mini order of jambalaya All was priced at $71 That's a great price Ok back to the food; the tacos were not as good as my first time but still good. Everyone stated that they were a bit saltier than the norm. I actually didn't taste the saltiness. I felt my shell could've been a bit harder versus flimsy on this go around. The bourbon street fries were very good. I will pass on the soul rolls but they were good. The jambalaya was just okay. I will try some other options next time.
This place is so good. It isn't close by to us, but we will always make the drive. The food is fresh, delicious, and a must try. The staff are always so nice, and give great recommendations when we are wanting to try something new. This will continue to be a go to spot.
I hesitated to give an update out of fear that my beloved soul rolls would start to sell out. However, as an Elite Guide, it is my duty and responsibility to report official dishes and restaurants to the public! The soul rolls are a mix of macaroni and cheese sweet potatoes wrapped up in a fried roll, and they come with syrup. The lawd is my Shepard I shall not want, and the rolls are aptly named because they touch my soul with every bite! I also discovered that DB's hot sauce is excellent! I have a low tolerance for spicy, so I always opt for tarter sauce over hot sauce when I eat catfish. However, DB's hot sauce is a different animal. It is not spicy, and it is more flavorful. To my surprise, I prefer their hot sauce over their tarter sauce ( tasty, too) with their catfish. DB's restaurant, soul rolls, hot sauce, crack juice, gumbo, just the entire menu is official!
Delicious and tasty. So good I'm so glad we decided to come here, everything was seasoned just right. Lots of people in and out , picking up their orders. We walked in as we arrived into town. We were in for Shania Twain concert Our wait wasn't long and the young lady who waited on me was pleasant. The cooks were happy and smiled at me while they cooked up meals. Very personable, I guess that's a good thing. Lots of good stuff, they didn't hold back on ingredients or taste.
Hey y'all another review from the food junkie FIRST THINGS FIRST RUN DONT WALK!!! If y'all are looking for some bomb cajun food with the seasoning there you going to the right place for comfort food . All the food is bomb and is a good portion everything is good I haven't ate anything that I wasn't satisfying. The only thing I will say is the parking lot can get a little crowded due to the other business and gas station so just be prepared for that Other than that the food is bomb , place is a a good size to come and eat and it's clean. We will be back
We visited on Monday afternoon on our way out of Vegas. Initially it wasn't very busy and we were helped right away. Food: -Gumbo fries w Lobster 10/10! and it was big enough to share. -Gumbo tacos 10/10. I just wish the gumbo rouge was at least warm. -Sample Dat 7/10. On the menu it says you get two of each egg roll, but really it's one cut in half. The Blazin chicken rolls were my favorite out of the 3. -Side of Mac & yams 7/10. (I do not play about these two dishes right) Environment: The table at the first booth we chose was broken/leaning and the second booth was dirty. Other than that, the inside looked decent and clean.
DB cajun kitchen. I went for a particular item, but they did not have it. It is a seasonal item only but what I did was very good. The Gumbo Changa was unexpected but surprisingly good and the consommé sauce that came with it made it was even better. The combo plate with the jambalaya and Shrimp and grits were really good, I ate on that meal for the whole day well worth the trip. Would I go back? Yes I would go back but next time maybe not order so much food cause I was stuffed.

NOT LGBTG FRIENDLY! I went with my partner been wanting to go for at least a week. Once we got to go as soon as we opened the door, nobody welcomed us in it wasn't even busy was slow. There was a lady in front I thought she was a customer I asked if she was ordering , didn't even acknowledge my question & looked disgusted & walked away. Then the lady in front kept looking at the menu didn't even say hi . We wanted to order ignored us till we said hi & she said take your time as she kept looking at the menu . We told her we are ready to order. After we got our food nobody checked to see if we needed anything else there was a couple that walked in they all said welcome in... they wore caucasian & my partner & me are Hispanic so it wasn't the color was our preference and sexuality. The ambience was not good. We felt unwanted there. The food was good. It's just sad the Customer service.
My client highly recommended this place so we decided to try. Ordered the crab boil, shrimp po boy, corn bread, and 2 of their signature drinks.... My tummy was happy! The staff there was great and so accommodating. We even got to try all their juices to see which one we liked best.
Yummy in my tummy! First time here. We both had the catfish was So good. I couldn't have done any bettwr myself. The food was good period. The mac n cheese is not traditional. However, it is goooood. Do Not sleep in the shrimp and grits side. I was blown away. Smothered in cheese sprinkled with green onions. My mouth is watering thinking of it. Will definitely be back when Im craving this style of cooking. Was like what you would male if you had the time and some above good skills in the kitchen . They also had sweets you pick up next-door. We didn't have any belly room. However, the banana puddin, strawberry cake, and caramel cake looked like I was easter brunch at my Aunties house, and that's saying a lot.
We drove out to DB's on the way to Mt Charleston after seeing a couple videos of the amazing looking food. There was a pretty long line inside. We were excited to see a lot of people there, meaning the foods gotta be good! We opted for to-go since a lot of people were occupying the tables waiting on their food, as well as a lot of people standing around the smaller tables. The line moved kinda quick. Standing in the line gives you time to choose what you want. I noticed the girl taking orders was very friendly and happy speaking to most guests but with me she seemed kinda annoyed or like she didn't want to be there and it made me a little uncomfortable. Its ok though, I paid and sat down and waited for my order. I felt like we waited a very long time, and definitely watched a lot of other people who ordered way after us get their food first, big orders too and we just ordered two things. A manager (Lala) noticed we were waiting for a while and asked us the name on our order and pulled a couple boxes that seemed to have been sitting up on expo for a while. Thankfully for her, who knows how much longer we would have been waiting. We ordered the chicken fries with the sauce on the side, and the 12 piece voodoo rolls. They never gave us the side of sauce which made me sad cause I love sauce but my husband doesn't so we wanted the best of both worlds. Regardless though, the food was really good and very flavorful. Super spicy too! I wasn't expecting it but it was a pleasant surprise. We also got two drinks, the crack juice and the bayou water. The crack juice was super good! I have no idea what the flavor was but it was definitely addicting like the name somewhat suggests lol. The bayou water tasted like a super sweet watermelon jolly rancher! My husband loved it. Overall, I think I would definitely come back, but I would order online to make the process much quicker.

We arrived right at opening so we were able to beat the rush. Customer service was good and the food was pretty good. The macaroni and cheese lacked seasoning and flavor and it was impossible to pick up any flavor from the egg rolls but they were okay. The Mac and the egg rolls were also barely warm. They definitely weren't fresh. We also tried all flavors of the juice which was DIABETES in a cup!!!!! The desserts were the biggest hit! The music was pretty loud but other than that, I'd visit again. read more

Ok i expected this rating to be higher especially after following them on social media for a while and coming from california to try it.. I've come to the conclusion that some food just looks good and doesn't taste good. The service was HORRIBLE actually.. i heard them say someone was running late, so that's probably one of the causes.. They give you TWO napkins lol TWO, real stingy & weird because the food is messy.. They throw the food boxes in your bag any kind of way. And the " special drinks " are just koolaid that isn't cold :/. I had the Who Dat Combo .. breading on the shrimp was THICK AND SALTY.. like it was refried again to get warmed up¿ I asked my fish to be fried hard and it wasn't fried hard at all.. You picked it up and it broke into pieces.. made me wonder how was i suppose to dip my fish in my sauces?? especially after i asked for it fried hard. I ordered The SAMPLE ROLLS.. and from the looks of it online it says like one of each roll they have.. IT WAS ALL THE SAME ROLL, which threw me off because that isnt what i ordered and i felt like i couldn't go back up and ask for anything because they were blantly ignoring people.. The soul rolls was a friends and i did not try it but she said it was good enough. The ambiance of this place was TORE UP.. the table's were messed up wobbly, you couldn't even eat on it because it kept moving. THEY ALSO HAD FLIES IN THERE, that's never fun while trying to enjoy a meal. They even have these tables in the back that they squeezed in because you can't sit there either without moving the other table/bench that was on the other side & being crushed in the corner. This place is so good. It isn't close by to us, but we will always make the drive. The food is fresh, delicious, and a must try. The staff are always so nice, and give great recommendations when we are wanting to try something new. This will continue to be a go to spot. read more

DB cajun kitchen. I went for a particular item, but they did not have it. It is a seasonal item only but what I did was very good. As if DB's needed to get any better...they just showed that they can. Along with amazing food...excellent taste. Their customer service just upgraded their game. They give you a loud and warm "welcome in" shout. They are the first restaurant (from my experiences) that Nia the person who took my order, actually asked me if I am "military, first responders, teacher" that is outstanding to me since most/all other places the customer has to ask. DB's asked the customer. Again...food is still amazing...customer service is even better. Thanks again Nia and the entire staff. And the ease and comfort of her offering makes me convinced that it is their norm to care about all their customers. Even you do not live near Craig Road and North Rancho Drive...DB's is well worth the drive. read more
I had never heard of DB's until we had a Yelp Elite Event there in February. I know then I would be back, and that's what I did yesterday. After a hike in the wilderness 50+ miles away, we drove across North Las Vegas to get to DB's. I ordered a sausage Po Boy and my companion got a catfish Po Boy. We shared a banana pudding. The sandwiches took a while to make. There is a sign noting that it may take a while because of staffing shortages and that everything is cooked to order. We took the time to chat about our hike. We also noticed the large number of take out orders that they have. My name was called and I went to get our sandwiches. Each Po Boy comes with fries. The sandwiches are large with a lot of filling including cole slaw. They do not scrimp on the catfish nor the sausage. As we were eating, my companion, who lives in Henderson, was already talking about what she was going to get when she returns. Had it not been for the YEE, I would not know this place existed. It's going to be a place I stop for a Cajun fix. In my two times here, the staff has been simply great! They are pleasant and helpful. read more
We came in around 4p on a Sunday. There were only two guests in front of us, but this place was super busy about an hour prior to closing. I liked the Mardi Gras vibe! Would love to hear NOLA jazz instead of the local radio station playing. Shrimp Po'boy (Dirty) | The shrimp batter was on the salty side when eaten alone, but the bread and the condiments balanced it out. The po' boy sandwiches come with fries to the side, it was a little soggy. Bourbon Street Fries | Fries could've been fried to crisp before being smoldered with the cheese, shrimp and crawfish deliciousness! Gumbo | good mix, generous portion Beignets | they were just ok, I mean it ain't Cafe Du Monde lol Menu/Items: Sooo many choices! Seafood is my jam!!! I wish some of the items could also come in a smaller portion, would like to try them all! Price: Appears pricey at first, but the portions were huge! Service: The employee taking our orders was super nice and friendly :), the other one preparing and bagging the orders, however... lol She seemed snobby, barely engaged in conversation with the guests, only called guest names for the orders and never smiled. I have never had a po boy before, so I was really excited about this elite perk! All I can say is WOW, I've been missing out. I got the sausage po boy, dirty style with coleslaw, and fries. While the po boy was super messy to eat, it was absolutely delicious. I loooove coleslaw and DB's tasted so good! I also got a small order of the soup rolls. It was filled with yams and mac n cheese, then had some sort of brown sugar and cinnamon dipping sauce that tasted amazing with the rolls. I live far from this side of town, but the drive was so worth it. The staff was super friendly too, and I loved the Mardi Gras theme in the restaurant. Cool little addition to the creole/ soul food scene available in the Las Vegas area. The food was good, but slightly salted & zested more than I liked. I'm a sucker for catfish so I was please with the portion size of my fillets and the crisp of the batter. Word to the wise... add a slice or 2 of white bread with the platter. #GameChanger My friend order the Cajun fries which were okay. Although they were loaded with a nice amount of seafood and fries they were still a tad bit dry. We ordered some beignets as well and they were hot, fresh and tasty. Overall, it was an above average time during my visit. I do think I need another visit to try out more items for a better experience. The staff was very nice, loved the music selections, and it was definitely a spot I would recommend if your looking to get a taste of New Orleans food culture without having to take a flight. read more

I am so happy I finally was able to give this place a try! I am for sure coming back because it's a few more items I want to try. The red beans and rice were so good and flavorful & was probably my favorite thing out of everything. The soul food egg rolls were bomb, I couldn't believe how delicious they really were. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the beignets not really being my favorite. Maybe it was a as how they packaged them in the paper bag by the time we got home, they were kinda soggy and very dense. That won't stop me from trying other desserts and other items on the menu. Over all, definitely give this place a try. They have some great options. read more

DB's Cajun Kitchen is a pleasant surprise - it may not look like much from the outside, but on the inside it reminded me of the hustle and bustle of NYC. Plenty of hungry visitors putting in orders, hard working employees behind the scenes, and overall an environment that demands attention from every corner. The woman working the front register was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. This was my first yelp elite event and she guided me with such grace - thank you! Another employee also caught my eye with her smile and hospitality towards other customers picking up orders. I ordered the traditional catfish poboy with fries and only have two regrets: 1. Waiting to get home to eat, and 2. not ordering more! The flavors were so flavorful and textures so moist that I'm sure if I had eaten it at the restaurant it would have been all the more better. Everything else on the menu looked so mouthwatering - I really should have ordered more, but I'll definitely be back! read more
My second visit wasn't as fantastic as my first visit. I really wanted the Mac n cheese with the fried lobster tail, but it's no longer on the menu. I asked the cashier about and she had no idea what I was talking about...Lol! So I decided to try the fried green tomato basket...big mistake. The green tomatoes were super thin and the breading was very heavy. All I tasted was breading, no tangy green tomato taste at all. I was so disappointed as I had a craving for them. The fries were good (hard to mess up fries). And for some reason the basket had fried okra pieces in it, which I didn't ask for nor do I like. On the bright side, my husband absolutely loved the fried catfish poboy! The fish was fried perfectly, well seasoned and the portion size was HUGE. Dessert- we decided to try the banana pudding and the beignets. Big mistake! Banana pudding had some weird Carmel topping and was very runny. It did not stick to the spoon. The beignets were super heavy and doughy, not light and airy like traditional beignets. I was hoping they would be served in the traditional bag instead of a styrofoam container. I'll definitely return, but I now know what to stay away from. read more
Haven't been to DBs in a while so I decided to make a stop cause I've been wanting seafood lately. The line was long as usual but that's expected when the food is good. The service was good. The atmosphere is always that southern hospitality. I ordered the boss dat which comes with shrimp and a lobster. It was good. From the moment you walk through the door. The customer service is on point. Casual yet extremely clean restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly & professional. I ordered the catfish poor boy with a lemonade. I got it to go as well. Let me say this. The young man that made my food. He NEEDS a raise!! His attention to detail. The thickness & just over all quality of the poor boy. Hands down #1 in my book. The fries had amazing flavor. They didn't make it home. There's a saying- Food so good. It make you want to slap your mama:). This was it!! The pricing of the food was perfect. This restaurant deserves to be on the Las Vegas Strip or in Downtown Summerlin as well. At about 12:20pm there was a line all the way to the door and almost every table was sat with people. I was blown away because I had no idea this place was even here. Both girls up front were very kind and bubbly. I got the shrimp p'boy, dirty which included coleslaw and spicy butter pickles. My dad got the fried catfish, he said he was picking something safe to try it out. We were both highly pleased with our meals. The shrimp boy came with enough shrimp for each bite, that's important. I felt it could've used some more sauce on top, but I enjoyed that the bread roll didn't get soggy and was able to eat through it. The catfish was fried but very tender and soft in the middle. My dad kept saying "we're going to go back" "I'm looking at the menu for next time" "I'm sending your mom a link right now". It was pretty funny, he really enjoyed it. We will return! read more

Hands down the best soul food restaurant I've ever had in Las Vegas in a LONG time. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and they definitely did not disappoint. We ordered the 3PC fried catfish and fries, gumbo, shrimp and grits, soul rolls, and banana pudding. Fried catfish & fries: seasoned to perfection. Batter was light and crispy. Fish tasted fresh. Fries were seasoned well. Came with corn bread that was also tasty. Gumbo: I didn't try this but my boyfriend said it was the only thing he didn't care for out of the things we ordered. Shrimp and grits: excellent. Flavor throughout the entire dish. You know how some places they make grits and just plop the shrimp and toppings and once you only have grits left it's eh? This one definitely seasons the grits and every bite was memorable. This is probably the best shrimp and grits I've ever tasted. Soul rolls: these are fried egg rolls with mac and cheese and yams. I didn't think these would be that special, but yes they are. The saltiness of the mac and cheese and the sweetness of the yams played well together creating a flavor profile I never thought of. Banana pudding: simple ingredients but full of flavor. Great ending to the meal. Drinks: I can't remember what they were (there was a green one that tasted like apple jolly rancher and a pink one that tasted like watermelon jolly rancher). These were good at first, but after a while it got too sweet for my liking. The service was great, the staff was helpful with questions. The ambiance was lively. Music playing, people interacting. Will definitely come back if I'm ever on that side of town. The drive is worth it just for the catfish and shrimp and grits. I can't wait to try other things on their menu! read more
***I don't eat seafood, so this review isn't reflective of their main dishes*** While visiting Vegas, my friends were craving some seafood and picked DBs, as mentioned above, I don't eat seafood so I quickly searched the online menu to see what else I could eat. Thankfully I saw things like a Sauage Po' Boy, Fried Green Tomatoes, Fries, Potatoes, and Egg rolls. (Their online menu didn't say they had salad, which I only realized once we were there to pick up our order, which would've been nice to know). I decided to order the Creole Potato Chicken and the Blazin Chicken Rolls. The potato dish was a baked potato smothered in oil/butter, chunks of seasoned chicken, bacon, cheese, and a creamy drizzled sauce. Overall it was extremely oily and heavy. There was a lot of seasoning on the chicken, which could be well balanced if you had a little bit of everything on your fork, but a little overwhelming on its own. Egg rolls were okay, but it wasn't easy to taste the flavors of the stuffing over the taste of the oil from the fryer. They did have a Mac n cheese egg roll which I would want to try. Overall, the two dishes weren't my favorite, but I'm interested in trying the sausage po boy and green tomatoes to give this place another chance. Like I said before, this is a seafood restaurant so my review shouldn't carry much merit for those who want to eat their lobster, crab, catfish, etc...... read more

The food is amazing, my husband and I have ate here many times since they opened and the food has been consistently good. The food is always hot and fresh when you get it because they actually cook your food to order. You can tell they really care about the food and service, when I was there Saturday, one of the owners was asking how people enjoyed the food and welcomed them to come back. She kept a smile the entire time we were there. That is 5 stars in itself because great service can be hard to find. The only thing they could improve on is seating. There are not a lot of tables so you either wait for an opening or eat in your car. I am sure with time they will get that situated too. read more
