He encourages his students to go to championships and trains them very well for them. He instills in them the desire and passion to become better at what they do. He does so much for his students; it isn't possible for anyone in their right mind to say he's only in it for the money. I've never seen such a great group of driven students who look forward to class and practice their techniques even when they're out of class. As one of his students, I've learned so much and improved in so little time. I've seen other senseis and honestly, there's no better than our sensei. There's no better dojo than DB Karate School. I want to start by saying that I respect anyone's opinion. However, I still stand strong to my review back in August 2013, I highly recommend DBK Dojo, my son is there by his choice not by mine, he knows and understands that there are rules of respect to follow, is the Karate tradition and dicipline, NOT just @ DBK Dojo.... in any Dojo in general, for the record I am not a "good friend" of Sensei, he is my sons mentor, for a little more than 3 1/2 years, it's been a learning experience in a positive way, the student progress depends also on the individual student and the amount of time and effort they devote to learning. The kids chosen to be part of the Elite Team is a daily, monthly, years ...it's a working progress, the students earned with dedication, respect, growth, and challenges, that each of them had to encounter to become better. My son is now part of the Elite Team, and all I can say is because he wanted it...he earned it! & it didn't happend overnight. Sensai Demian pushes them to the next level and as a result they get better in Karate and personal determination to "never give up", In a healthy way. In conclusion, Karate is not for everyone.... it's a calling, the reason that I say that is because I lived it and live it daily with my Son. I have witnessed the growth up of DBK, this school began with Sensei Demian, and Yoselin Senpai, they have based the development of the DBK karate School, on traditional Japanese philosophy of internal growth with discipline and traditional values. I've seen parents who send their children because their are rebel, based on the recommendation of friends and then I've seen these kids change from restless and disobedient rebels to small people with discipline, goals, and respect for other people. This school is one of a Kind. One of the most prestigious Karate Schools I have ever seen. My son has assist this school for more than three years and we participate in lots of competitions all over the United State as a traveling team and we always here very good comments from other Karate schools and parents about our school. Also Sensei Demian Bermudez is very well respected in the karate community as a Referee and karate instructor. DB Karate School is the ultimate place for the real traditional and sport Karate. My son has been training with Sensei Demian Bermudez for almost a year and he has improved in every aspect of his life, self-confidence, control, physical condition, focus etc. He loves what he does and the most important thing is that this is the real Karate, as good as it gets. I strongly recommend this school. I got a four a seven and a ten year old kid they all go there.They learn a lot and made knew friends .
