This guy is a scammer who knowingly sells fake items and pretends like he is having supply chain issues. So many people on Reddit also had similar experiences. I would steer clear of Dan Peterson and his scams. Dayton Magic isn't a business it's a storefront for selling you fake items. Over 10 other people ordered and got fake items or items no described from this "business". Dan is a scammer and I hope he gets everything he deserves! read more

Daytona Magic is great! Harry & his team know magic. I read a couple of reviews slamming them because they didn't have everything in stock, so I have to comment. Folks, use some common sense. Do you think a small independent business can afford to keep 1 of everything in stock? The inventory taxes alone would mean all pricing to users would have to greatly increase. The other obvious error in reviews said, "it was in stock". I have ordered from Daytona Magic for a couple of years & they never say stocked or non-stocked on any items. When in doubt, pick the phone up and call them to find out if its in stock. And guess what - ALL brick & mortar magic shops do the same thing with magic offered. Why stock something if the vendor stocks? That's when you drop ship things from the manufacturer. When you don't understand how to run a business, don't complain about something unless you understand it. My hats off to Harry & the Daytona Magic team - they make me look good. I wish I would have come read reviews before I purchased from here, someone else had the exact same thing happen to them. Ordered multiple things online only to receive less than half of what I actually ordered. When I asked why they showed in stock online, they said "well we use an outside warehouse to fulfill orders so we don't really know if somethings going to be in stock or not". Would have been nice to know that before I paid shipping. Some of these things were meant to be christmas gifts. I thought maybe I found a cool mom-pop type store but turns out they just list items for sale that they don't actually even have. Horrible experience and bad customer service as well. Nothing they can do about it they said. Thanks for taking my number and basically overcharging me for basic things I could have found anywhere else, while leaving out the good things that were the reason I shopped on your site to begin with. Also, pretty sad to see that the other person who had the exact same experience was from a year ago, and they still have the same practice selling online. read more

Interesting place to see. The first they ask when you enter the store - are you practice magic. If not do you like to try. This store has a lot illusion prop. It is fun to see so many trick you can buy. You can have your own show once you practice it well and entertaining your guess. Very one like head chop, sword piercing, floating body. But I like the close up magic, card magic, cloth magic. This is some thing that you can get ooh ah moment. There somethings that is small enough that you can teach your kid or grand kid to enjoy. Daytona somethings host the world magic convention and lead by this store. It will be fun to see so many magician in action. The magic prop here is easy to operate. Compare to work with animals, this is a lot more easy and control. read more

Buyers be aware! I ordered a chain escape from their shop based on the photos shown in the product listing. I contacted them right away via email showing the photos of their listing and what I received. The chains are dramatically different. The shop listing looks like heavy duty chains. The item I received looks like cheap light weight chains. Nowhere near the same items. Not even close. They were willing to return the item but I must pay to return the item to them. They were unwilling to help beyond that. Which is disappointing. So be careful and make sure the photos listed are verified to be the photos of the items you're buying. read more

Harry was an awesome host! He made sure to set my son up with tricks that were well within his ability but also pretty darn amazing. One thing that sets this magic shop apart from others is the extremely high quality of the tricks. They have most of their tricks handcrafted and you can really tell the difference. It always hit me funny that there was a full blown magic shop in down town Daytona. My wife and I went in after meeting the owner at an event. The shop has a ton of magic tricks and gags. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. They can demonstrate a number of items making a visit like a mini magic show. Although I do not perform magic tricks it is a great place to pick up a unique gag gift for birthdays. read more

It was the last thing I expected in Daytona. A full blown magician's shop. We stumbled upon it after breakfast a few doors down from the Dancing Avocado restaurant. It looked like everything it should be from the frontage. Like maybe something from a Harry Potter movie. It looked like a place that nobody had ever ventured into. We passed it by on our way to the Chocolate factory and all of a sudden the kids decided, screw the chocolate factory..we wanna go here. But mom, being mom said NO! Chocolate factory and stuff and then we'll come back. Well, we did come back, and double quick time, like 15 minutes later, because while interesting, the chocolate factory did not have enough to hold the interest of two young boys with an hilarious sense of humour between them.. So in we go. We were greeted by a lovely friendly lady who told us how the store worked. "Real" magician stuff on the left, novice and gag and prank and joke stuff to the right. The little grey dog who comes out to greet you is not a prank. What a wee cutie pie with a big heart...he or she must be all of 90 years...like a Dumbledore for dogs. I spent a frekin HOUR in this place with my boys. Fart Machines and the usual stuff that kids loove. My favorite? The gremlin you attach to your toilet seat with suction cups so that when someone lifts the lid this little gremlin guy pops up. Never saw that one before. Fake puke? Itching Powder? Its all here, along with some real genuine tricks. So we leave with some googly eyes which I use later to get a laugh with when driving up to get my bags from the Valet guys at the hotel...and a "BANG" gun...and some snapper gum. Yeah. I found the shop by chance while visiting the area. I have been interested in magic since I was a kid and now I'm 57 and have a lot of magic of my own. The shop was FULL of great stuff and incredibly friendly people. I was shown Hole-y Cow. What an amazing trick and so simple! I had to get it and am very glad I did. Bad experience ordering online. Put in an order of 6 items, the main 2 items (higher priced) showed in stock, added 4 low price items, shipping was over $8. All items showed in cart, and I Paid $$. But the next day I got an email that the 2 main items I wanted were not in stock and they didn't have more but they were going to send the cheap items (those items under $6 total) but were still charging the $8+ in shipping. I immediately emailed Daytona Magic to cancel my order as the main items had been removed and they were going to charge the same $8+ shipping. Got an email response saying my order was ready to ship. I sent a second email saying to CANCEL my order in large font. Got an email saying here is your tracking number. Once again I told them to CANCEL IT, Again before it was shipped.... When the box arrived it only had 2 items in it and slip said the other items where being dropped shipped. Yes dropped shipped from a different location (more items not in stock in their store). Found they charge 15% restock Fee, even on unopened items. Will never spend another dime with them online. Would recommend only buying items in-store at their location where you can physically hold it in your hands. Personally after this... I will never set foot in this store. Hopefully this was the work of a poorly trained employee and not the owner, either way, learn from my experience. read more

I can't believe that we have a magic shop with so many items. I went with a friend on a whim and the possibility of replacing a magic item for my father. The shop had all kinds of cool tricks (along with some silly joke gags). The staff was SUPER helpful and showed us many cool items. Walked in here with my 5 and 9 year olds after stopping at the chocolate factory a few doors down. There's a large selection of gag gifts and magician props. Everything is reasonably priced. But the best part is the the people that work here. They're incredibly friendly guys who entertained my kids with a couple of magic tricks while we shopped. Wow, a real magician's shop in Daytona Beach. Super cool and fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They let my son demonstrate his juggling skills and made recommendations to him based on his skill level. Invited us back for the magic convention in November and gave us codes for discounted rooms at the resort where the convention is being held. Great shop. Glad we stopped. I am giving this 1 star for prices and value. The staff was friendly and engaging and spent time showing my son some magic.
