My mom called Ellenton Gardens and spoke with Joyce the manager who was so helpful and beyond kind enough to hold us the last spot until we arrived. When we got there, we couldn't be happier.. the park was beautiful, clean, and inviting. Joyce went above in beyond and even helped us back in our boat. We came to this park through the Thousand Trails Membership / The Trails Collection…read more We've been here a for 4 nights. The park is laid out nicely and love the lake around the park. We walk our dogs each night and it's 1 mile around and back to our site. * Everyone is very friendly! The office staff were super nice and helpful. * The park residents were nice and friendly and would wave when they drove or walked by. * Love the Scoop on Poop message handout they give us in the packet at checkin. This message needs to be given out everywhere so to educate all pet owners to "Pick It Up"! * This park is very close to restaurants, beaches and a few botanical gardens. We definitely like coming here and will be back soon. We recommend this park! Just a few negatives we noticed: * The grass/weeds around our site and other areas we high and our small dogs had a hard time walking on it and also peeing... Funny thing though; they were cutting the grass the day we left. I honestly think the grass was high due to the previous big storm that came through the week prior and dumped a lot of rain. Understandable the grass was high! * There was an old Rv close to us that really needed to be condemned. People would come and go from it during the day. Don't think there was any power in there. I heard someone say they are trying to get it removed.... Hope they do. * When we walked around the park we would smell Marijuana at a few sections, very strong and was almost nauseating. * Could hear some of the road noise traffic from I-75. It effected my wife for than me at night while trying to go to sleep. We just turned our White-noise on a little louder to help with the noise. * Mosquitoes were bad in the morning and then again at night just before sunset (it's a Florida thing). We are from Florida and deal with mosquitoes a lot but in this area where our site was they seemed to be a lot more. We were in the back section next to the wetlands (site 1123 through 1093).

The staff has been nice to us and understanding about any concerns we have had. The people I've met here have been awesome and the community and amenities are great too for the most part... We do love it here !!!!! but now for a little critique : Well, some people's kids here at Encore Winter Quarters Manatee. lol I know construction workers stay here and have to get up early and have to work... but please don't smoke in the washrooms!!! (NO SMOKING SIGNS MIGHT HELP) DON"T leave your shampoo and washcloths in the shower ...and pleeeeeezzzzzzz flush your crap down the toilet and put the TP in the toilet not the floor and maybe wipe out the sink when ur done too. THIS IS A PUBLIC WASHROOM NOT YOUR PERSONAL PIG PEN !!! I feel bad for the staff that have to clean up after this unnecessary mess use some common decency!!! My apologies to swine of the world. lol

At 5pm the pool closes, the clubhouse closes, the office closes, and the public bathrooms and laundry room close. There is no cable TV, unless you live there, and no Wi-Fi, except at the office. If this was just a resort for full time tenants I could understand this, but since it is open for daily camping I think, at the least, the bathrooms should be available 24 hours!

The park is very convenient off I-275 on US 41. The streets are paved, the sites are gravel for the RV, parking for your vehicle is grass with a concrete patio with a picnic table. It's not a big park and there are many park models so you need to get your request for a site in early for the winter season. Luckily, they had a space available for us in June. They have a nice saltwater pool which was the perfect temperature. I really enjoyed There are also amenities & things to do but we did not take part in them. The sites are decent so you have room between your slides and the neighbors. Everyone we met was very nice. I want to mention Jaden Clark, who works in the office and Marty, head of maintenance. They are both very nice, knowledgeable and super helpful!! I made our reservations and checked-in through Jared. Marty helped us back in and get the water going. They are both real assets!! I recommend Winterset RV Resort. We haven't stayed longer or during the season so can't talk about long term or seasonal visits. I cannot say about anything else, but we enjoyed our stay at the park.

See the photos for its history, etc, but there are cute cabins to rent , an outpost ( food, drinks, souvenirs and bait sold; I had a root beer float); nightly entertainment, and plenty of chairs for relaxing. We've stayed here for the last three years for Jan-March and watched this new park crumble season…read moreafter season. This year is where it ended for us. Not only did we booked elsewhere for 2027. Our yearly snowbird neighbors did as well. The upkeep just isn't there. Many sites were cluttered and poorly maintained, with random items, debris, and general disorganization that made the overall environment feel neglected. The grass and landscaping were patchy and overgrown in areas, and some sites looked more like long-term storage than a welcoming RV spot. On a positive note, location is great, the concrete pads in the newer section of the park are nice, pool was good but they keep the temperature low there were many days we couldn't enjoy it. Laundry room dryers have never worked.
