Our family did a mini vacation over the weekend. Hit up Calgary and then Drumheller. The best option for somewhere to stay was in between both places. We decided on Strathmore. I found the Days Inn on booking.com and decided the price was decent and it looked like a good enough room for us to stay in. We arrived at about 5:30 and check in was super simple. They had all our information and ready to go, just had to sign and get the keys.
They placed us on the 4th floor, which was the top. Very nice! We were right close to the elevator as well, which with 3 kids, is nice to not have to haul everything down a long hallway to a room. The room was clean, didn't smell and was fully stocked. I requested a crib for my 18 month old and it was brought to my room right away. The shower was nice, good pressure and stayed warm. Plenty of towels for the whole family and some soap for washing our hands and if we forgot shampoo/conditioner.
We went to bed fairly early since we were up early that day and wanted to be up early the following day. The noise level was non-existent. we couldn't hear our neighbors and hopefully they couldn't hear us. We went down to the included breakfast in the morning. There were a lot of options. Cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, coffee, juice, waffles, etc. It wasn't bad tasting and it was replenished quickly. I was quite impressed. They also had high chairs for little ones which was nice to see.
After breakfast we checked out the pool for an hour before we hit the road. The pool was big. There was a slide that our kids loved. They really enjoyed going down the slide. Also a hot tub that had a timer on it for the jets. This was a nice little pool area if you are staying for a bit.
I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who needs to travel that way. Very impressed. read more
