It's located in a shopping center with lots of great restaurant options. I usually go in early in the morning on the weekends since they to tend to run out of some stuff closer to noon. There's usually no line and service is always friendly. I really like their jalapeño sausage rolls and these tiny donuts filled with Bavarian crème. They're so light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. The rumor is true about apple fritters too, BEST IN TOWN. I used to say I didn't like apple fritters but I tried theirs and I'm a believer. They have two sizes and both are delicious: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside with pieces of apple--absolutely delicious! There's seating available inside and they also sell coffee. I have been going to this doughnut shop sporadically for the last 3 years, and I would often look…read moreforward to treating myself to a cake doughnut and one of their sausage rolls. In all the time that I have been going here, I never really associated my experience with any kind of hospitality, warmth, or basic customer service. Which, honestly, I didn't mind (I actually preferred it) because I am quite the introvert and I hate small talk, but today I experienced what could only be considered outlandishly rude. I was standing behind someone waiting for them to finish up ordering, and while I was trying to read the menu, one of the women who works behind the counter (who I'm pretty sure is also the owner) just screams at me, "ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER SOMETHING OR WHAT?!" After her outburst, she then stops herself and says sorry because she realizes how crazy that must have looked in front of the other customers. I smile and say, "It's alright," because I just figured she had a bad day, but for the duration of the interaction, this lady checking me out was curt and cold. So it made me believe that the decision to scream at me was very much intentional, considering she was very friendly to the customer who was before me when she was enthusiastically exclaiming, "Did it rain yet?" only to completely switch up with me. Maybe it's because she had a bad day. Maybe it's because she just isn't a friendly person to begin with. Maybe it was because I was the only Black person in there. Who can really say? Although, one thing I can say for certain is that I won't ever be back.
