The apple filling was the perfect, apple to thick, sweet and juicy filling I expect from homemade. It holds together enough to stay on the fork yet it was not a solid mass of goo that you normally find in a frozen pie. Now to the best part, the crust! I normally leave the crust on the plate, but not this weekend, finally a fantastic crust on a pie that rivals my Grandmothers pie! I am a pie convert, gone are the days of pie crumbles for toppings now that I can have the Village Pie Maker do it to perfection for me!

It's a good thing I don't live in Kearney since I would want to go here all the time. It's one of the stops on this year's Nebraska Passport. Eggs, sausage, and honey cinnamon cream cheese spread...I think. Americano and honey is good, though I had to pay extra for my honey amount...after we were buying a $40 breakfast already. Unacceptable for $4. The gal behind the counter had the personality of a wet mop and also seemed slightly underage or underbrained to be working this kind of job. Not the best first impression. She couldn't figure out that I was asking for a regular coffee and it took her a good 5 minutes to try and ring it up. Not everyone wants an ice cream shake for coffee. I hope they figure it out.
