OH MY WORD.I can't believe that I wasn't the first person at the hands of the afore mentioned 'bulldog'! Like this other customer, I too had parked in the Dawn Nurseries car park on a decent enough day for a walk. My two young children and I had decided to get out and enjoy the day, (half-term week & don't want the children watching tv etc etc) so donned our wellies and were ready for the 'off'. No sooner had we stepped foot out of the car park, when 'she' pounced!
Now, like the other lady I too am a long standing customer as the nursery is very close to me and I quite often pop in with my mother. My husband and I also have been taking our children for many years now to choose our Christmas tree. The children love it, the guys are really accomodating (I take forever to pick my tree) and it's become rather a tradition for us. As a very keen gardener (I also do gardening down at my daughter's school) I hate to think of the ammount of money I have spent over the years at Dawn Nurseries. BUT, not any more.
The car park was almost void of cars and I would not have parked there if it were high season and very busy. I truely didn't see the sign's but rather was watching my 6 year old on the narrow road. This woman was waiting for us, and her whole tone and attitude completely threw me. I have brought up my two children to be respectful towards others, so I accepted what she said and walked back to the car and popped the children in. I told them I'd be one moment and went back over to the shop and approached this woman. I told her that I didn't appreciate my children hearing confrontation, that I spent alot of money during both the high season and at Christmas time and although I can understand their policy, the car park was almost empty! I finished off saying she'd now lost a good customer. To this she replied with something along the lines off, 'that's fine'. I was firm, to the point, no raised voices or aggresion.
I hope this nursery can afford to lose customers for what essentially is a luxury purchase in these economic times. There are many nurseries along that stretch of road, only too willing to welcome new customers!!!! read more
