Dreadful experience. Staff tried to be helpful and advised me on changing my original purchase to a cheaper product after I had already paid. I took their advise. A different member of staff then explained that no refund was possible, but I could select a plant to the price of the difference. So I took their advice and selected a plant at just the right value. Then the manager overrode all their advice, told me I couldn't have my original purchase, only the cheaper one and wanted to give me a credit note for the difference, which couldn't be used for over a month. read more

Always find excellent plants at Dawn. We also get our Christmas tree here every year. One of the best nurseries in the county.

If I can avoid the issue around using this nurserys excellent parking facilities as a place to park when not using visiting the nursery to procure their plants, soils and products.... I have always found the team at Dawn Nursey very knowledgeable and helpful. I have been a regular customer over the last 5 years and have also always found their plants and products to be of excellent condition and seasonally appropriate. From a pricing perspective there are cheaper locations in cheltenham though when I balance the quality price equation I revert back to Dawn (hence 4 stars). Their selection of soils, potting grit, accessories are excellent and having big Max to help with the loading is much appreciated. Definitely worth checking out if looking for plants, shrubs or gardening materials. read more

A friend bought me a hydrangea from Dawn's garden centre Cheltenham. I went to Dawns today to buy some plants and to ask advice as the hydrangea was not doing well. The older gentleman manager I spoke to, didn't even give me the opportunity to explain. I found the manager arrogant and rude and appropriate name for him would be Mr Angry. I will never shop there again, or recommend them which is a shame because in the past I had always been happy with the quality of the plants, and service I have received. read more

A most unpleasant experience today with a most unpleasant large women from The Dawn Nursery. My daughter in law and I were transferring my grandaughter over from my car to hers in the car park when we were told in no uncertain terms that it was a private car park. I have spent no end of money with this company over the years and was about to go in and spend some more of my hard earned cash before this incident. I hope they can afford to lose customers as they have lost mine and my daughter in law's for sure. Anyone reading this should try Trioscape Garden Centre, family run and always pleased to see and serve. Perhaps that's why they won a business award last year. They certainley know how to look after thier customers. Sadly Dawn nurseries don't seem to have a presence on a social media page like FB as I would certainly post on it to warn others. In this day and age we the customers can make or break a company especially when one presses the share button and the whole thing goes viral. We are sorry we parked for what was 3 minutes in your large car park that was devoid of cars. Next time we will park out front by your glass doors on the public highway where we will cause an obvious obstruction and danger while we transfer one small child from one car to another. You are very mean spirited indeed. Get real Dawn Nursery and take a course in customer care. read more

The one star is not deserved. Absolutely dire set up. Nice plants, Shame about the rest. A hideous shopping experience always since no one there can give a toss. Have encountered but one nice member of staff in years but that's it and, due to their surly intransigence, the plants are nice but it's not enough I will never buy here again for I don't want their soulless attitude to have a single penny of my money again. I spent £300 last week, mad I know but had moved house. Today - 5 days after my second visit - I saw that one plant, which I had (surely not totally foolishly) assumed was the same price as all the other plants being same "range," same pot size, same everything was in fact £50 not £25 as the other had been. I rang about returning it to swap for something else, and they refused. Apparently there's a 48 hour policy. They "don't know what I might have done with the plant meanwhile". So much for any suggestion of customer care or loyalty. Vile company. About from that poor one helpful woman stuck there with the dead-eyed sharks. I have a big garden, too. read more

I have always had fantastic service from Dawn Nurseries. The staff have always been helpful and knowledgeable . The staff that I have met have all been lovely. This is one of the best places to get really good quality plants at good prices. They have also had great offers on their pots. I am really shocked at earlier comments by rude "customers" , if you can even call them customers, as they weren't using the shop but parking their cars and leaving them in one case to walk their dogs!!! It's a small business and it's not a car park! The car park may have been nearly empty but on another day it might be busy. The car park is clearly for customers. Perhaps if these " customers" had popped into the shop and asked permission to park up for a short time to walk the dogs and then returning to make a purchase, things might have been different. Sorry, but I think that Dawn Nurseries could do without "customers" who are so rude and full of their own sense of entitlement. read more
