It's more of a gardener's delight in that there are some genuinely individual plants and less of that supermarket feel. I've never used the cafe so can't comment on it, but there is one if you're in need of a cuppa.

It was one of the greasiest breakfasts I've ever had. It was a shame, as once I had cleaned off the grease with a paper towel, the sausage and bacon are really good. Just let themselves down with the grease it was swimming in. I still have the taste in my mouth 2 hours later. Come on Studley, you serve great sos and bacon don't spoil it with the way its cooked.

Your bog standard Sirdar DK wool was 2 GBP for 100 grams, so 4 GBP for 300 grams. In the little time that I've been knitting, that's pretty good value. My partner got a Airfix project here as well, the HMS Illustrious... starting small ;) As an added bonus I got my mother a dinky concrete birdbath for 25 GBP The place is massive. And to be honest a bit of a maze. Not good when you are trying to find the tills and exit when you are lugging a concrete birdbath without a trolley. A-OK

Good Afternoon I…read morejust felt, having had a thoroughly fruitless and frustrating trip to Webbs this afternoon that I should share my thoughts on the quality of service on display in your store today. We are regular visitors and enjoy our trips generally but having travelled over from Kidderminster having been told your pet department had some Lion Lop rabbits coming available today thought we would investigate. This proved a lot more frustrating than we anticipated, your staff member was handily placed in the middle of the mammals display, crouched admittedly and obviously tending to the animals, "she will acknowledge us in a moment" we thought..er no... a couple more "buying signals" later and still no response I cleared my throat... still nothing... "Excuse Me, can you tell me about the lops please, are they ready to go?" "Yes, but they are all reserved", still crouching! "Oh, it says that they aren't available until today? Will you be getting any more in?", "not like those, they don't breed them this time of year..." ah the famous sexual abstinence of the rabbit!! Very unhelpful, surly and frankly not a great ambassador for your company, lip biting was required to not cause a scene, my wife was equally appalled, not sure about my 18 month old as he was by now distracted by a tortoise but i sensed even then that he was unimpressed! So, that's your wonderful pet department. We then passed a gaggle of shopfloor staff taking the piss out of some new "artichoke" shaped "t lights", another fine example! Then the till lady who served us (Lisa) did so with all the charm and effervescence of a dead badger in the gutter, didn't say hello, goodbye, ask if we wanted a bag or smile (despite my own witticisms and our 18mth old who is at the "hello hello hello" stage of life doing his very best to get her attention). Bottom line, your staff seemed today to be en-masse not loving life and certainly not their jobs or their customers... unless the old wives tale about simultaneous menstruation in close proximity is correct I suggest you need to brighten everyone up a bit. There, I am now back in Kidderminster, started typing by McDonalds so at least i have filled a journey up... Bottom line, not a great experience today, still spent £87.44 though! Regards JK Justin Kelly

There were some hardcore Sunday shoppers here and rightly so this place is beautiful. Full on country side vibe with every possible flower and shrub imaginable! I got my trolley and causally stilled around the centre settling on buying some sunflowers and other really hard to pronounce types of flowers for my mom and dads front garden. I have no idea who named some of these varieties of flowers....but they went innnnn...I won't lie a lot of them I couldn't pronounce but I gave it a good go..with varying results.... The flowers here are super cheap too the sunflowers were like 1.50 each and most pots are below £3...bargains galore!! The only thing to note is the tills are busy...people are flocking for a wide for those bargain blooms so set out an afternoon for this trip it's definitely going to take you a a few to see everything and pay....but that's the vibe surely...loved it.

It has also always had a good cafe/restaurant on site that the local people have used to meet up with each other. Currently it has a cafe that sells dinks, cakes and snacks and it also has a restaurant that sells main meals and also has a carvery. The cafe may be difficult to find for new comers so you may have to ask. There is now also a small farm shop which sells local produce. There is plenty of free praking at the centre.

I've had the odd pot of tea before, but on my last visit I decided to try the food. The menu consists of tried and tested favourites (that is fine by me) I opted for a macoroni cheese with a side salad and garlic bread. There was a bit of a wait to be served, it was lunch time and the restaurant was quite busy. You order your food at the cash desk, and you are given a number. I found a table and sat down. There was a little delay for the food, but it was worth it. It was quite a generous portion and it tasted delicious, so good in fact, that I would like the recipe! Perhaps not an ideal place for a leisurely lunch, it can get quite hectic at lunch time, but I can recommend the food - give it a try.

I bought a Chinese lantern plant from here, which kept me great company in my first year at University (until I forgot to water it and it died). As well as plants, Ambleside sells aquatic pets at great prices. I have a tropical tank at home, and many of the fish I've bought originated from here. They also sell little terrapins in store, which I'm always tempted to purchase. Ambleside is the home of Earlswood cheese, which can be found at Moseley Farmers Market. They have a much wider selection here, and sell my favourite the Warwickshire Truckle. Other delicatessen-type food can be bought from the garden centre too. It is a little pricey, but tastes delicious. At the back of Ambleside, you'll find a cafe/restaurant serving a wide range of herbal teas, coffees, cakes and snacks. Again, the cafe is a little costly, but you'll definitely be tempted to try something different, because the menu is very unusual. I bought a cup of Buddha's Eyebrow tea from here once. It was quite peculiar! Of a night, the cafe opens out into a restaurant. I am yet to sample the evening menu here, but I do intend to very soon. On your way out, you'll pass the counter, and you might end up missing the friendly dog that lives here if he's sleeping. He is great with kids and gets very excited to greet new people, which adds an extra memorable touch to this garden centre.

They are a little expensive but then I think all garden centres are really and you are paying for the browsing experience and the service which on this occassion is very good. I have twice had problems with things I have bought from them (outside of their control) and they have been very helpful and prompt in their willingness to help which makes a nice change from some garden centres I've visited and all done with a smile. In a nutshell - a bit expensive but worth the extra for the good customer service and good ambience.
