I had a 70's age fluorescent light ceiling. And the ballasts were going down, I thought it was going to be a snap to get new ones. Well I was wrong. So I got led's and put them in, to say that they were not the best option is putting it lightly. There were shadows where there weren't before. So I swallowed my pride and called bill Davidson of Davidson' Electric, they came out , took out the old ones and put in new recessed lights and recommended a local handiman that created a dynamic recessed ceiling and . I live in Wrightwood - I needed some receptacles re-wired and a few other electrical issues about the house tracked down. Called on Monday morning, Bill and one of his employees showed up Wednesday and quickly diagnosed all of the problems, then Bill suggested several ways to go about fixing the issues ranging from very economical to top-notch but all safe and effective, then got the work done. He offered right away that if I was going to be around while they were working that I could help out to save some time for them and thus money for me, and then (for free) replaced several old-but working receptacles with brand new ones and (still for free) inspected an older circuit breaker panel to make sure it was in safe working order. Extremely prompt and very professional. The lights went out when the vacuum cleaner was turned on. I tried resetting the circuit breakers, but no success. I call Davison Electric and they were here within 2 hours and were done troubleshooting fixing the problem (rewired an outlet with a faulty neutral) in less than an hour. Couldn't have asked for better service. And... Bill was training an apprentice and was doing a great job making sure that he was getting the hands on training needed. I used Davidson electric to repair other issues and make a few changes ..(add LED lights, a ceiling fan etc) The original estimate was $700 "ish.. not more than 1000.00" is what I was told in a verbal Gentleman's agreement... However,! the total ended up being over @2200.00 and NONE OF THE WORK WAS DONE CORRECTLY..... he added another guy (not in estimate) and charged me for HIS time.. We have LOTS and LOTS of Pictures ...WE are going to court over this one it was sooooooooo bad..... OUR lawyer thinks he will get PRISON TIME for making our house a fire trap....NOT COOL, he wouldn't refund money or even meet us at the house to fix the issues..... Davison electric is excellent! I had to call them to fix another contractors mistake. It was a large job and took the greater part of a day. Davison also oversaw the digging of a trench for two weeks prior to the actual electrical work. During that time I was out of town and I received updates as to how the work was progressing via text message and photos. I found them incredibly reliable, thoroughly knowledgable and fair priced. Davison Electric is as good as it gets. This is the third time over the years that we have called on Bill for reliable, professional and cost competitive rates. Bill has always given an estimate that he holds to and on the second visit was able revamp, fairly, his estimate when we decided we wanted some extra work done without taking a pause in the work in progress. They are on top of communicating with us on when the work can be done and notifying us when they are in route to our home. Anthony works WELL with the Company and has explained to me in terms that I understand the work he is doing. On completion of each job there was no evidence, other than new lighting and installed smoke/carbon monoxide alarm, that any work had taken place as everything is cleaned up and any furniture needing to be moved has been put back in place. All in the company, whether we've met face to face or just over the phone are professional, friendly and patient. I was pleased today when both Bill and Anthony arrived wearing the COVID protection masks. We already have another estimate for some further, cosmetic outside electrical works. Great service. I had a new install of a kitchen semi-flush light, conversion of 3 recessed lights to flush mount, install of a 4 gang wall outlet with USB ports and troubleshoot of a wall switch that was malfunctioning. This very professional company made minor repairs to our circuit box and provided additional assessment of our electrical system. They were courteous, on-time, and hard working. Everything that they were planning to do was thoroughly explained and all costs were upfront and strait forward. No surprises at the end of the job.
